Greetings all! ^_^
After stalking this place for far too long, I thought it was finally time to dive in as a member of the community :)
first of all, i'd like to apologise in advance if some of my sentences and paragraphs are rather short, blunt, or make little sense. I haven't really got much of a way with words... :S
Now that's out of the way... Hello! My name is Sam, 21 year old and hailing from london!!!!! I'm currently working s a games tester for SEGA while I learn how to play the piano and save up enough money to afford a proper music/music tech course somewhere :)
I only started piano in october last year, and although that gives me roughly a 15 year disadvantage over most others who play the piano, I seem to be picking it up rather quickly :) I've still got a LONG way to go yet, though.
Music has always been in my family, with my mum and older brother playing the trumpet, I played the Clarinet and Alto Saxophone through primary and secondary school, eventually giving them up due to a HUGE brain meltdown and lack of motivation. After spending a good half-year unemployed thanks to dropping out of university, I did a good deal of soul searching while on the hunt for jobs. I eventually came to the conclusion that I just wanted to be appreciated for something, I wanted to leave my mark on the world, regardless of how small. And I wanted to do it through music.
Since then, I decided i'd strive to become a composer. Took me a year before I could find a keyboard and a teacher, but I made it eventually. :)
My keyboard is a rather rubbish one. Not full-length, non-weighted keys, doesn't sound anything like a piano, but at least it works ^_^
My grand ambition is to be able to compose for video games sometime in the future. A difficult ambition, but I believe I can get there someday...
I think that's all to say for now. Once again, greetings, and I look forward to becoming a part of this incredible community ♥
