This isn't a board game, but I really like Rummikub - highly addictive ;)

The Game of Life (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00000IWD7/immaculate-books/002-2948589-9122442). I've always found it slightly easier to play than Monopoly because it accommodates my short attention span better (since it has a definite ending), whereas a Monopoly game can (theoretically, at least) last forever.

i was just taught to play LOTR table top and it's a little hard to learn the rules but it was fairly fun, thanks for teaching me how mithiras!
