I was thinking to get people to help each other if they have questions on how to do things like how do you make hair drawn with good highlights or, like me, I want to know how to make crystals or abstract designs in photoshop

I'm not much of a photoshop wiz, but maybe I could give you some advice with the hand drawn stuff...like the hair?

But yeah, good idea for a thread. ^_^

Is it just hair that you have problems with? If i'm going to do this, the easiest way is to draw out stages tonight and post them up tomorrow...and I was wondering if there is anything else that I could do while i'm at it.

I think this might be helpful http://keechul.4mg.com/htk/htk.htm

unless you can't do that with your picture editing program

This is an excellent idea, something like this was bound to crop up soon or later...crop, there's a pun for you :). Anyway, this would be very helpful for me as I often need help on Photoshop, expect to see plenty of me in here lol.

Blah.... I don't like the idea of using "how to's" to learn to draw manga/anime... If it's an artist it would come naturally just by studying the form.

However, if you want specifix on how to use photoshop try:

polykarbon is a good place to go too, but i dun really go for the drawing style...i just need help on coloring stuff because whenever i try to color things, it looks sorta weird...o ya...here's another helpful place...
http://www.bakaneko.com/howto/
it takes a long time to load for some reason...or maybe it's my comp...but anyways, this site also has some stuff on drawing hands...i dunno about other people, but the hands i draw look really...scary...
one more thing...does anyone know how to draw complex designs on photoshop?

By the way people, I don't think the point in this topic was to post random sites with art tutorials in them, if members wanted that they would search for it in a search engine such as google. Is this topic not for discussing effects, textures, layer styling and other things similar to that?

I don't think that any of these sites are "random". They're perfectly fine to me. :D Although you can discuss about all those things if you want to as well ~

I think you thought I was using the word random in the wrong context, what I meant by random was sites that don't really answer a question, although they are on topic, they're not needed. Isn't it best that some one asks a questions and other members go on their ways to find an asnwer or sollution?

hey is there anyway to grab a pic's colours on a pallette and then change the pics colours directly through the pallette? I found that quite useful when making cs sprays with the generic prog but can you do that with photoshop?

I know you can select the part you want to change colour of and then simply change the hue (CTRL+U), not sure if this is what you mean though

this topic was for anything dealing with art tutorials
whether it's from a site or from themself
if you've found a site you like you can post the link
and if they don't understand it, you can explain it

i draw anime/game art styles that i like
and uses pieces of their style in my art

i've been drawing since elementary school...i didn't really start drawing anime/manga style until middle school...but i guess the longer you draw, the more time you have to perfect it...lol...i'm still not satisfied with my work tho...it's not "the best" neither is it "the worst"...lol...has anyone ever drawn something, left it somewhere for about a week or so, and then looked at it again a week later, and discovered it was horrible? ahh, i'm getting off topic...
neways, i free hand draw my pics, and sometimes ink them (rarely), and color them...(even more rare)...
n' i was just wondering...what's the best medium to use when coloring an anime/manga pic?
