Well unless someone transfers it to midi format you won't be able to hear it :'(

Let's see if I can sort something out... :) Here we go, hopefully I wrote it out correctly :D

P.S. Diamond, I recommend using Noteworthy Composer (see Composition Programs Guide) as you can save files as midis, and though you've only got 9 saves per file all you have to do is copy and paste the staves into a new file if you run out of saves and want to continue working on it :)

Oh, and in terms of comment - I think it's a very nice piece, having written it out I can see how simple it is, you've used repetition and variations upon various bits to great effect and the speed (urgh, quarter = 240 - I would DIE of exhaustion if I had to play it) makes all the flourishes sound really mystical. I especially liked your use of triplets at one point - made a really good effect. Well done, I hope you keep composing!

Edit: Haha, 7 downloads - looks like most people do have Finale XD Still, at least Sora can listen now ^_^

Good piece, Diamond! However, I feel that some of the voices do a bit too much overlapping. The triplet part is nice and it is contrasted perfectly by the duple-meter eigth notes in the RH. :) Keep it up!

(Btw-You may want to remove the attachment in the first post of yours... Don't want people stealing your Finale file.)

Julz!! ^^ *claps*

As I told you before, with only two months of composing experience, this is very good =) your harmony is amazing, I'm envious!

This morning while listening to it again, the mus file finally worked properly for me, so I got to see the score . . but when I saw it, it made me concerned . . how can you perform that? =P If this was a piano piece, it'd be very difficult to play, hehe . . your left hand has those chords on the bottom, but apparently, it's also supposed to play the 16th-notes accompaniment on top as well, while the right hand plays the melody . . if so, then there's no time for all that jumping around, and not much space for the hands to be together =\ . . oh well, it's still doable =) but hmm . . you could consider turning this piece into a duet, that way you won't have to actually change the music itself . .

Anyways, those were just my thoughts, don't mind me ^^

A composition does not necessarily have to be something you preform, but something you hear.

As for the song, good job! You started out nicely, and kept me interested up to measure 15. There, at measure 15, it seemed to lose its melody. For one, you seem to make wayyyy to much use of the eigth notes, and the repettion there gets pretty old and fast. Also, the melody isn't confirmed, isn't standing out. As for the ending, it ends a bit too suddenly. Make sure you try and keep your chords matching.

You're doing fine, so keep on composing and you'll get better and better ;) 6/10

It's nice, but you should really add some harmonies or something.

The style she's chosen doesn't require harmony =P . . imagine someone making a painting . . each note is a gentle stroke of the brush . . "red here, perhaps blue, no no, how about this C or D flat instead?" And if you mush them all together, you'll get new colours, but then you lose the "purity" of love.

Ugh, I don't know. IMHO, the beggining didn't get off too good and the ending sucked. For a second composition it's ok. It sounds like your smashing the notes a little bit in the back too, it's a little distracting. (it could just be my speakers)

Overall,
6.5/10

Haven't got 'round to listen too the other one, but you might want to edit the Title of this thread . . . lol. ;)

MIM, admit it. That was a LITTLE harsh. If I were Diamond you'd be a bloody pulp before you could even say another thing. But that's just me.

People have the right to make constructive criticism of other's compositions - if you're not prepared to receive both positive and negative comments about your piece, then you shouldn't really post it up here. MiM has the right to comment upon Diamond's piece as she posted it for the purpose of people listening to it, and therefore receiving feedback on it - she's justified her reasons for saying that she doesn't like the piece, and in that way she's pointing out how it can be improved (though in not as eloquent language as some of the other critiquers on here)

Has anyone read my profile?

Lol, I'm female.
Anyways, I had a long post that probably would have turned this into a flame war, and after reading it over I deleted it. :boo:
It was just my opinion too, because I didn't like the compositions (I didn't hate the compositions btw, just disliked them) dosen't mean should go around beating on me.

If I were Diamond you'd be a bloody pulp before you could even say another thing. But that's just me.

madmazda86, thanks.

E- Oh, and if you don't want me to comment on the second composition, I wont.
EE- I don't get too detailed in to what I say, because I'm not very good. I only compose and play several instruments. I do my best to show what in general could be improved. Hopefully the Composer will listen over the parts and possibly agree and do parts of it over.
EEE- To not take up room, thanks again for the edit. ^_^
