Hi! This is a battle theme I wrote for a game that my friends and i never got around to making. I wanted some opinions to see if this was good music for an RPG. I hope to one day compose music for games, like my idol, Nobuo Uematsu. Any FF fans here?

Sounds great, excellent sense of orchestration. Battle themes don't always require melodies, but somehow you made it stick to me without one. Good job.

Well, I have no idea, I love writing music, so I just sat down one day at the piano, wrote a melody and some simple harmony and filled in the rest on the computer. I usually am not "inspired" to write, I do it because I enjoy it. ;-)

I think the battle theme was the best song of your collection. The rest sound kind of pale, and doesn't really fit into the brief descriptions you put on your site. These sound better because they're in MP3, but when you make a song, make sure it sounds good in MIDI format too. There are lots of 'composers' who think "Yah, I'll just cover it up with an mp3 suit, that'll make it sound better" Not saying you are, but I can easily imagine these songs in MIDI, and it wouldn't impress anyone (of my taste, at least)

I actually wrote all of non-piano tracks a long time ago at the computer, with just a crappy sound card, so it was all midi when i was writing it...So I didn't think they sound bad as midi's...but I do appreciate any feedback. I think they fit the descriptions pretty well. I'm sorry to hear that the songs wouldn't impress anyone. I thank you for your criticism Noir7, but I think it could have had a little more taste.
