Happy New Year everyone! :fireworks:

A new year means new things, new opportunities, new beginnings, blah blah blah blah... And new things are a reason to celebrate (hence why we celebrate New Year's). This month's theme will be "Celebration." This theme leaves a lot of room open for creativity, and is also self-explanatory (I hope). Here are the rules:

1. Limit 5 instruments. Piano counts as one instrument. Percussion Instruments (Drum Kit) is a freebie, meaning you can use it but does not count for the limit. In other words, you can have 5 instruments AND percussion, ok?

2. 6 minutes maximum length.

3. Any sound-type file is OK, but please try to stick to compressed or simple formats, like MIDI or MP3. WAV files can be big. :think:

4. Submit in this fashion please:

Title:
Composer:
Link:

If you submit a file, and edit it, and want to re-submit, just make another post with the new file. The latest file will be used for the competition.

5. All copyright and Ichigos.com rules apply.

If you have anymore questions, please send me a PM. The deadline (yes, I remembered this time) is Saturday, January 29th. Tyr to keep all conversations out of this thread (they will be deleted, eventually ^_^). Good luck!

:: edit ::

Eight days left and no entries... yikes... :crybaby:

It's UP TO 5 instruments, not including percussion, and piano counts as one instrument.

The composition has to be from you... doesn't matter where it is... does that answer your question?

3 days left... c'mon guys... ^^;

Also, although it's assumed, it's a COMPOSITION contest, not an arrangement contest. Everything must be original.

Here's my submission:

Title: Dreaming Under the Lilacs
Composer: James M. Greterman
Link: Dreaming Under the Lilacs (http://forums.ichigos.com/index.php?act=Attach&type=post&id=93275)

Instrument List for the Record:
1) Acoustic Grand Piano (Melody.)
2) Electric Piano (Version 1; Doubles melody line and provides for LH broken chords.)
3) Synthesizer Pad SFX (Purely for Chord Backup.)
4) Music Box (Sustains a faint counter-melody, but you can hear it if you really listen.)
5) Synth Voice (Only used at the key change to Ab Major from F Major.)

(I have not opted for the free percussion kit.)

Talk about the last minute! Sorry for taking so long, Michael, but I had to take time to give it a decent name! :heh:
