I think the worst anime/manga out there is fooly cooly or flcl (no offence to those that are fans of flcl, this is just my opinion)i only read the first manga but it has no plot... it's just this guy sprouts a bump on his head....

I didn't like it at all either....I never read the manga but after 2 episodes I had to turn if off...it got cancelled from adult swim didn't it...lol :lol:

yeah, i hate it when ppl do that... a lot of anime/manga get better after the first few books/episodes (even though there are some that don't)... i myself watched the FLCL series and thought it wasn't that good, but it wasn't that bad either... i just don't get why it's one of the really popular series when there are a lot of better ones out there that are less famous x.X

I think some of the worst anime's ever are one of the most exaggerated stories that have extremely exaggerated storylines like.. Detective Dan School, I mean the graphics are great but some of storylines with the investigations are crap. Come on, killing does'nt have to be that grotesquely planned out and explained... ( No literal connotation implied ) and another thing, so much freaking explanation... it's like, WHY NOT BLAME THE CAT FOR GOODNESS SAKE...

And another anime that surely gets my mind cracking for nonsense is Dragonball Z... YAY!!! The world gets saved for the 100th time, by GOKU and his clan who died and was revived for the 50'th time... Please, it gets too annoying after the 5th time that an alien invades the earth...And Goku gets to save it, DUH! Aliens and beasties would'nt be ravaging and destroying the earth in the first place if they did'nt land in it...

Yeek~ I had a lot of trouble watching "Tsukiyomi Moon Phase," which I know a lot of people think is adorable. I think it was extremely poorly done and that the characters didn't seem to have sturdy personality traits, if you know what I mean. PLUS, the theme songs are SO ANNOYING, ugh ugh ugh~ Besides that, yeah, the French was SO bad in the ending theme.

Now, I haven't seen very much, mostly because I was truly annoyed by it, so maybe it gets better. This probably isn't the worst anime ever, but I haven't really seen enough to compare...

I must admit, I didn't finish watching the series so I apologise if i'm offending anyone, but the first 15 episodes of WITCH HUNTER ROBIN are sooooo boring! I mean come on! The witches all die the same way ROBIN does her thing and everyone is so serious and depressing (except Tojima, who has the least on-screen time). It wouldn't kill them to smile once in a while.

BTW the original airings of DBZ with the original vocal cast was much better the the redub with the newer cast. thogh all in all, it' was never that good of a series.

Also alot of male artist/authors have strong female characters, while alot of female artist/authors have strong male characters. look at Rumiko Takahashi, same goes for Ken Akamatsu, did you notice that in Love Hina no actual nudity is shown? And weak guy gets beat up by girl. Those are just common themes.

^SD [Superior Defenders] Gundam. It was one of Gundams worst mistakes, trying to focus on the younger generations; but then again, they come back with a brilliant production like SEED and DESTINY (though the main charater in destiny absoultly sucked).

@Fishi22: It comes together in the last episode (I'm amazed that you couldn't piece it together by now, but the last episode helps).

I personally destest all of the mainstream anime out right now. There are wonderful works out there that isn't even given the privlage of being licensed in other countries (Kanon, Air (though it's a bit early for licensing on that one.), and Mitsuki wo Sagashite (or Full Moon wo Sagashite; though a bit streched out), and, quite frankly, I find it that any anime over 100 episodes has infected there watchers with the "When is it going to end?" syndrome; not mentioning scattered with an enormous amount of filler episodes (like Mitsuki wo Sagashite, which, I believe, could have been a 12 Episode OVA instead of the 50 episode bonanza).

Inuyasha is a prime example. It starts with one story, then it branches to another story, and then to another. When they return to the orginal plot line they dicover that the orginal story was, in fact, false, and never happened. Instead, someone else did it and a new story is formed. Lather, rinse, repeat..... It can be signified by an endless waltz like the similarly titled Gundam Wing OVA, Endless Waltz: It never ends, continually following a three point movement. Forever doomed to its own destruction.

Oh yeah...one piece was terrible and naruto was disappointing since it's going into the way of inuyasha. For me, it's not the worst manga but it was awful how they ended love hina in the manga. It was a good read but stopped getting interesting since some ideas were used over and over again and not every character was equally devepoled. I also hated Keitaro for not being open minded to the other girls and Naru had way too many chances to be w/ him just to violently push him away each time. If he wanted an aggressive wife, he should have picked Motoko. Atleast she was someone even I could date. Naru most likey got Kietaro because she was the main love interest and the idea of her being the promise girl (even though he eventually didn't care about the promise girl) sealed the deal. I truly, truly hate closed minded relationships in anime like that.

Anybody read/seen Alien 9? ^^ I read the first two volumes of the manga... and never bothered buying the third and final volume, cos it was so confusing and weird and just... uh... lol.

okay, i think the two biggest failures when it comes to anime were gundam seed destiny and medabots. SEED Destiny had a better start than the other seed, but had such a sucky ending. i mean, i've seen those fights 3 times in the whole series...couldnt they just for once be original ?? it moves too slow and too much of it is fillers for my taste(anime). It's fun to watch but only a few of them are actually interesting and it's too much like Dragonball sometimes since it's about ninjas but almost nobody does that. From Naruto's sealed nine tails demon fox powers and Sasuke's little curse, there is almost no need to be stealthy (the clothes...don't get me started on how they dress sometimes...you would think they would change clothes sometimes for stealth but hey, that's me). I mostly in it for some music and fighting scenes. If you really like Naruto, go buy the manga. I think it's up to volume 11 in English. Believe me, it's way better than the anime and you don't have to wait 3 or 4 hours for a scene that takes maybe takes 5 minutes. These Naruto training shows lately are killing me.

Sorry if I went off a little but they ruined some possible good video game based anime. I hate when that happens to good series (just like companies making real life movies of a game that makes you wonder if they even played the game or know what it's about.

There's this one, or a few, mangas with every page showing a basketball game. I'm sorry, but page after page of drawings of basketball games just makes me want to mutilate the book. It's so pointless. Girl Got Game is not one of the basketball mangas I hate, I like that one. The later DBZs repeated themes and plots and..just basically everything and it gets REALLY boring. I love Sailor Moon, but there was a part in one of the movies where a friend from Darien's past pushed Serena and the melodramatized the fall. That's pathetic. The plots and themes repeated in Sailor Moon also, but they weren't as blatant as DBZs repititious plots and themes. Sailor Moon is okay, just with a few issues, but DBZ is just... terrible after the series where Piccolo trained Gohan. After Yugi-Oh's first season, it's kinda disturbing to see duelists rambling about their strategies as they're playing... I understand that it is important for them to tell what each card can do and everything so the viewers know what's going on, but why would you tell your opponent your strategy and the abilities of your cards??? What if the opponent doesn't know what a card does, wouldn't you want to keep your opponent in the dark to gain the upperhand?? Ah well... Big O.... I'm not even going to go there on how ..... It just shouldn't have been created in the first place.
