hey, have any of you heard of the game "Perfect Dark" for N64? if you have, then what would you consider to be its next step up on? would Halo or a different first person shooter be more appropriate?any tips would be much appreciated... :D its for a b-day present

Perfect dark is about being sneaky and stuff, correct? Then certainly not Halo . What system do you want it to be on? Xbox or PC?

I'd have to say the Timesplitters 2 currently, the next Timesplitters is set for a better solo mode though, as its from the goldeneye team (most of them anyway) you know its gonna be a worthy successor

no, perfect dark is about spies running around shooting people. as for the next step up, some of the new 007 games would be pretty good.

Resident Evil is good...but your not really spies..lol...Its more like shoot thousands of zombies and try not to die..lol...but hey ya get cool guys ect...lol.

Agreed, Timesplitters would probably be your best choice cause a few members who worked on Perfect Dark worked on Timesplitters.

All the new James Bonds are awful. Didn't they try to remake Goldeneye as well? Rogue Agent or some crap? X_X

Well, i've tried resident evil, but the whole zombie chasing you thing kinda freaked me out....basically, perfect dark is a first person shooter game where you're either
a) running around in combat simulator mode, blowing up everything that does, or if you're really bored, or doesn't move. you make teams, set difficulties, and unlock really odd characters and change them around like putting a guy's head on an aliens body
b)play the one player mode where you have to unravel a plot about a skedar conspiracy and go thru the levels eliminating all those who stand before you ^_^ . then you kill aliens....and thats pretty much it....oh, except that there are these really random pieces of cheese thru-out all the levels. its kinda funny, really....

Nono, they didn't try remaking GoldenEye, they just used the name "GoldenEye" to cash in on their new game. The GoldenEye in the new James Bond game (GoldenEye: Rogue Agent) is a golden eye (what the fuck?!), whereas the GoldenEye in the original was a satellite in space. In the new one you play as a bad guy, and in the original you play as James Bond.
I knew it was something like that crap. Heard it got crappy reviews too.

Probably just tried to seize the same fame Goldeneye recieved on the N64.

haven't really played much into the 007 series, but gameplay-wise, they're pretty similar to perfect dark.
