View Full Version : Aeila's Compositions (me!)

Aeila
January 21st, 2005, 09:12 pm
If anyone is interested in my work, just ask me and I'll post either an MP3 of the song you choose or a Finale file (.mus).

Well, since its a real long list, just pick a number between 1 and 42 and I'll choose the numbered song that is requested! Oh and if you wish you may specify whether you want to listen to the MP3 of the songs or the .mus file.

Thank you and enjoy!

Since "Dark Aura" doens't seem to be working, so I'll give another sneek peek *crossess fingers and hopes it works*

January 21st, 2005, 09:36 pm
well.. i heard your composition and i must say.. it was new kinda song for me. and i dont know how u got the title. but you constructed the piece pretty well. i couldnt open your song on my finale 2003 or finale 2004 (demo). when i almost gave up i finally figured it out that i had to use finale notepad 2005... so if there are anyone else that wants to hear his music.. use finale notepad 2005.

yellowmonkey121
January 21st, 2005, 09:38 pm
oh.. u think i can hear one more song.. perhaps one of your best piece.. you dont have to since you have to post it as .mus file. i completely understand if you dont want to post your song.

Aeila
January 21st, 2005, 09:45 pm
My absolute best piece? Okay!

Coming up...

Aeila
January 21st, 2005, 09:48 pm
oh and i think that you should really listen to this too if you think French chocolate was "unique". This is a bit more grounded.

Enjoy!

January 21st, 2005, 09:54 pm
u got the idea of how to compose but i dont think you have the right chords. juss try to listen to a lot of music (classical is preferred) thats what i did. :heh: keep it up tho.. im beginning to like your style.

Aeila
January 21st, 2005, 09:57 pm

yellowmonkey121
January 21st, 2005, 10:08 pm

yellowmonkey121
January 21st, 2005, 10:12 pm

Aeila
January 21st, 2005, 10:23 pm
interesting! i like your song a lot.
7/10 is okay.

Well, thank you. If you're interested in anything else, just ask.

Chords for On the Other SIde, by the way, are:

C, F, G, Am, F, G, Em, F, Em, F, Em, F, G...

Another finale file for you...
This is an extremely difficult SATB choir piece I wrote a few months ago. Enjoy.

For those that have Fruity Loops studio, I can post the original flp file of DARK AURA on if anyone is still interested in listening to that particular song.

Aeila
January 21st, 2005, 11:55 pm
Finale File that may be of interest to you. However, it is incomplete, but one of my favorite and best works...

Aeila

Another one for those interested in fast-paced harp/cello duets.

Aeila
January 22nd, 2005, 04:01 pm
My worst composition EVER. Solo voices make a repetitive Ahing and do-ing experience. Er, enjoy.

badgerglue
January 22nd, 2005, 04:11 pm
i think its ok but yah the do's gotta go.

And it gets sorta confusing near the end though.

but overall its ok ill give it a 5/10 for your "angles song"

Aeila
January 22nd, 2005, 05:07 pm
^.^

thank you for your comments. I always found the song incomplete in many ways, and the dos were inspired by Bjork's "DoDoDo" track. of course my songs is much worse than the sheer genikus of Bjork :heh:

Here is an MP3 for you guys that you may like...it might work this tiime:

Aeila
January 22nd, 2005, 07:43 pm
I post "Dark Aura" again. Hope it works ...

badgerglue
January 22nd, 2005, 08:43 pm

Aeila
January 22nd, 2005, 08:48 pm
nope these are files I made with fruityloops. I might be able to make midis of them...one second... :dots:

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXX

edit:

can anyone help me out? I have the fruityloops file but I don't know how to make it midi. It can be a wava and mp3 file but not midi :(

badgerglue
January 22nd, 2005, 08:53 pm
never heard of fruitloops before well the cereal but not the program

Madmazda86
January 22nd, 2005, 08:55 pm
Hmm... is fruityloops freeware or or pay-to-use? If it's freeware I can get hold of it and transcribe your files into Noteworthy where I can save them as midis.

Aeila
January 22nd, 2005, 08:59 pm
a downloadable demo is available and free. Its basically the program itself but you just can't save your work.

I have noteworthy composer (the demo). What can I do?

Madmazda86
January 22nd, 2005, 09:03 pm
Ahhh, simplicity! Okay, all you gotta do essentially is copy out the score into Noteworthy - then go to File->Save As. When the box comes up, go down to the drop down menu where it says Noteworthy Composer File (*.nwc). Click on it and select "Type 1" or "Type 0" midi from the menu (doesn't matter which) - then save and tada, a midi!

Aeila
January 22nd, 2005, 09:34 pm
okay I made Dark Aura midi file but it isn't nearly as good as the MP3 made with fruityloops and is loosely based on it.

wait how do i make it into a midi now?

Madmazda86
January 22nd, 2005, 09:38 pm
Save As.

Aeila
January 22nd, 2005, 09:40 pm
okay, the song has now been saved as Dark Aura. I'm trying to Midi input it but I can't...I don't have an input device?

I'm sorry...am I doing this right?

Here;s the file:

Aeila
January 22nd, 2005, 09:41 pm

Aeila
January 22nd, 2005, 10:59 pm

badgerglue
January 22nd, 2005, 11:10 pm
for a random song its good. :sweatdrop:

Aeila
January 22nd, 2005, 11:28 pm
the midi version is really bad! The Mp3 is so much better! I'm so broken that I can't share nay of my MP3's that I made with Fruityloops Studio. -_-

Noir7
January 22nd, 2005, 11:33 pm
They work for me.

Aeila
January 22nd, 2005, 11:39 pm
the midis of the songs are so bad though. It doesn't do the song justice.

Aeila
January 23rd, 2005, 03:29 pm

badgerglue
January 23rd, 2005, 03:51 pm

Aeila
January 23rd, 2005, 03:53 pm

Aeila
January 24th, 2005, 12:55 am
Here is a midi of On the Other side. Surprisingly, it came out okay. ^_^

badgerglue
January 24th, 2005, 07:44 pm
thats awesome. did you add a introduction to it cause it doesnt start at the same place it does on finale. and are those water waves in the backround. those are cool too.

good job. ^_^

Aeila
January 24th, 2005, 07:56 pm
oh thank you. :heh: Yes I have added an introduction, and the song doesn't have a timpani. maybe I might edit it and put one in sometime.

Baderglue, what would rate my songs out of 10 each? Just wondering. :sweatdrop:

badgerglue
January 24th, 2005, 08:03 pm

Aeila
January 24th, 2005, 08:15 pm

badgerglue
January 24th, 2005, 08:27 pm
ok first off some i cant listen to cause my computer sucks <_< so if you dont see one or three in a list than sorry i might not have heard it. and if i didnt see it that sry too

"on the other side"-8.9/10 very good i like that one
"french chocolote" -7.5/10 its ok i didnt like that one as much as on the other side
"Ill will be there" -8/10 would be higher if i could hear the voice more. But dynamics on finale sucks -_-
"lullaby drown in emotion" 9/10 this is my favorite. 1 thing i dont like about it its to short
"angels" well like you said it was out of random so 5/10 ok
"dark aura" 8/10 dynamics would help though
"pitch black" 7/10

overall composer 8.7 :D good job

badgerglue
January 24th, 2005, 08:38 pm
aeila this is kinda imbarrasing but are you a girl or a boy?

Aeila
January 24th, 2005, 08:39 pm

Is it me, or is this piece only about 20 seconds long...? Try get to at least a minute or so before asking for comments, because there's really not to say about it, except perhaps "nice start"?

Noir7
July 13th, 2005, 12:07 am
Technically he didn't ask for comments :P Although I agree, there's no real point why you should do that.

I like emotional a lot. Mostly because I like the percussions :shifty:

Aeila
July 13th, 2005, 02:07 am
THank you bloombrink. That beat took very little time to come up with.

I'll post an extended version of it once I finish it, I just wanted to see if I'm on the right track. ^_^ Thank you for your comments.

Hmmm...what about this one?

Emotional

Choir intro?! Great! Is that steel guitar or harpsichord? (It's hard to tell with all the background things going on.) Either way, it sounds great! I like the use of background synth pads/strings to strengthen the harmony, but at times, they did sound a bit muddle together. Good use of percussion. Not sure about the title for this particular piece, but it's good, too. :) This song sounds very good, but it sounds like it still needs a few tweaks done to it to make it better.

Happenstance

Trance beats?! Good touch, and not too loud at all! Just the right volume. Interesting voice soundfont... but it's pretty cool! Good touch adding that piano (?) part. Also, good percussion (once again). Sometimes the parts seem to drop out so suddenly and just reappear once again later on without warning. Perhaps you could do fades-in or -out in order to alleviate the abruptness there, but it really is cool. This song is loopable quite well! Good job. :)

Aeila, who are your main musical influences? Composers? Groups? Never heard a sound like this on this board before.... :D

Klonoa
July 14th, 2005, 05:16 am
happenstance- Great percussion :D (both of your compositions). This is a neat style of music you make. Im not sure of what style but i like music similar to this. I like the odd soundfont(not in a bad way)

^_^ Thank you for your comments, Gnomish! I feel so honoured~

I mainly listen to Bjork and classical music. I LOVE the four seasons, and anything by Bjork. She's AMAZING. And she inspires me. :)

EDIT: here is the instrumental version of a song i sing in, but I don't want to torture your poor ears, so here's the instrumental. It's happy rock. :)

Listening to the last one... it's REALLY loud... I think you probably should lower the global volumes for ALL of the tracks, and make dynamic changes as necessary (panning wouldn't hurt, either); it's really hard to make out a lot of the details in the piece because all the sounds are squished together. Anyways, from what I've got from the piece, it's not too bad (I think I actually have that cheesy choir soundfont, too :P), though it doesn't really go anywhere before it starts to repeat. Try to develop it more, and fix the technical problems, and I'm sure this will sound very good. Keep at it.
