Does anyone know if you can go head to head with another player in this game?

I've played it. You mean the one for GBA, yes? I think it's pretty good, has long game-play, although it *is* the only Final Fantasy game that I have ever played. :heh:

I'm quite sure that you can go head to head with someone too, yes...

its cool but let me say one thing...
Final Fantasy Tactics > Final Fantasy Tactics Advance
adv is more of a kids game while the first was more FF like to me has alot more jobs and has a better skill system what with job points and its more adult like

Well, there is also the small fact that you can fit loads more on a PS2 game than on a tiny GBA cartridge...

Yeah FMV takes up a lot of storage space.
I'm still missing 2 out of the 300 missions on advance both of them need some items I've not got or can't find

Umm......... what I don't like about advance........ is that stupid can't use system......(can't remember what its called).......

Phenix
May 25th, 2004, 02:44 pm
The judge law system is that what you mean?
Yeah it makes the game a lot harder especialy if your missing a card to null a monster attack rule and the only thing that the mission has to fight in it is flans( attack the flan=instant go to jail)

M

Or maybe you can follow the rules and never get a red or yellow card. Or maybe an outlaw card or a secret weapon could help in that situation.....

Phenix
May 26th, 2004, 02:43 pm
Outlaw card? looks like i'm going to be playing FFTA again

Spoonpuppet
May 26th, 2004, 03:40 pm
No, I think he was kidding about the outlaw card thing... Yeah, I usually just walk around forever until I get the laws I want. :heh:

Traya
May 26th, 2004, 11:26 pm

M
May 27th, 2004, 01:04 am
It's an Anti-law Card... You know, the ones that are really expensive? Am I that far in the game or somthing?

Spoonpuppet
May 27th, 2004, 09:53 am
Yeah I know you can use anti-law cards, but I never really bother with them... And the Jagd places are scary. Your characters could actually DIE!

M
May 27th, 2004, 11:37 am
Sad... But if you evenly balanced your clan, that wouldn't be so sad.

i really like ffta! so cool! cept i was at the last stage and my units weren't strong enuff for the last opponent! so sad.....but i started again with a new character, employed some cheats and organized my clan and stuff more! kekekeke. i got Lini...kekeke...semisecret character....i hardly ever manage to get them :D i think i may have a chance this time!
tip: if ur in a jagd and you unit is ko'd, before you "kill" the last opponent, just use phoenix down to bring them back, then kill the last opponent. this way, you won't lose any units! ^_____^
btw, does anyone know how to get a sage or alchemist???

Phenix
May 27th, 2004, 03:54 pm

lini is a he and he's a moogle, but not jst ANY moogle. he's the Hero Gaol's sidekick, he's know's ulitima charge, a really powerful attack and he's a mog night.
what you do, is you need the mission item "the hero Gaol". then, once you have it, send a unit out on a dispatch mission, before the mission is over, ie, it still has 1 more battle, or two days to go or something, save while on the world map and turn off the gameboy, or soft reset it (start+select+a+b ) when you get back, ie turn the game back on, once the mission is over, there's a pretty good chance that lini will "seek to join you clan". make sure that other mission's don't finish at the same time, or you might not get lini. i had to try a number of times before i got him, but i did eventually! ^____^ try when you unit levels are relatively high and you clan level, coz then lini will be at a highish level too. Marche was at lvl 17, and lini was lvl 15.
hope this helps!

Cool, I'll have to clear a position in my clan and give it a go. hmm I think I've got a spair mog night he could replace. :gba:

There are a couple missions that are head to head missions, so you need a link cable and a friend who has FFTA to complete them

those are probably the missions you are missing.

Inu-chan Congrats... You did your homework. :D

homework?? i don't get it... ...anyway

well, i was talking to a friend and he said "so, have you got lini?" when i said know, he askd me if i had all these other units i had never heard of and when i asked him how, he just goes, "just go on th einternet, like spuercheats.com" so, because on my first time playing ffta, i ended up too weak up against the last opponenent and tried billions of ties but was too weak, so i wanted to get stronger. and it worked!! :D
if you wanna get stronger in one mission, jst go on a mission like frosty age where you have to destroy a statue or something for the mission to be over, and just attack each other, using a white mage, potions etc to heal! i tried that too.
if you want more, just look on the net! ^_^ .....unless you have resourceful friends *kekekekeke* :shifty:
i hope these help!

Yeah, Judgemaster Cid is a pretty good character. He has an abillity that gets rid of the laws for a pretty long time. But then again, by the time you get him, there's no point in continuing to fight because you've already done everything.

FFT>FFTA

yay!! i just finished ffta!!!! well, the main component (issat how you spell it?? anyway, it's so cool, coz you get these new missions where you can get "secret" characters, like, once you clear the mortal snow mission, you get ritz, or if u clear the left behind mission (dispatch) and then clear the with babus mission, you get babus!! just make sure you have some spare places in your clan....oh yeh, i also got ezel, all you have to do is reularly chek the gossip and at one oint, towards the "end" of the game, ou do a reconciliation mission and you can get ezel!from me for now! well, that's all from me for now ^_^

Well Final Fantesy Tactics (Original) is my favorite game... ever. FFTA doesn't come close. Personally, I think it's a disgrace to the original. It's the worst Final Fantasy ever. Doesn't mean its bad though... wait... yes it does. :bleh:

Hey a quick question

wat are " ACTION SKILLS " or like " Required A-Ability: 2 archer "

like archer needs 2 action skills to get to hunter...for humans...i dont' get it

how can i get action skills???

Phoenix
August 27th, 2004, 04:26 pm
If you buy weapons, most of them will give your character new abilities if you get enough AP. For example, Longbow gives you the ability "Boost". It requires 100 AP to be learned. Doing missions with the character nets you AP and when you get 100 AP for that character, "Boost" will be permanently learned by your character, and you can use it when ever you want. In order for and Archer to become a Hunter, you need to learn two archer skills. If you learn two Archer skills, for example Boost and Aim: Arm, when you try to switch classes, you will be able to switch into a Hunter.

OOOOO okay i get it thank you

MoetheChicken
August 29th, 2004, 07:53 pm
The ability system in FFT is better. You gain experience(JP) and "buy" your abilitys at will.

M
August 29th, 2004, 11:41 pm
But that dosen't put you through the challange of useing (sp?) weaker weapons for extended periods of time (most of the time longer than you like) just to gain 1 more ability that's not avalible anywhere else...

Asher
September 6th, 2004, 12:36 pm
yeah, it really sucks, because i equipped my hunter with a 7th heaven bow that teaches hunters ultima shot, but that uses a lot of mp and if you just "fight" with it, it has a pretty low damage rating...thing, so as soon as i get the 999  aps, it's back to maxwell's oathbow!!!!!

edit: typo

Hi Inu-chan! I'm really sorry for going off topic: Inu-chan, I know you go to CCS and I was wondering who you are. I'm Moe. Please don't kill me! Back on track: I hate judge masters! They're the worst thing in FFTA...

Asher
September 9th, 2004, 09:32 am
ummmmm, sorry! you must mean wandering mage??? maybe? I "stole" her screen name.... wandering was Inu-chan in the old Ichigos i think........BUT NOW I AM THE ONLY ONE!!!!!! *cough hack hack cough*

MoetheChicken

Bless you! I just saw a file labled Inu-chan at school so I had to ask... One thing I liked in FFTA is the amount of classes. One thing I didn't like was the amount of usless classes...

Asher
September 10th, 2004, 12:48 am
that's all right! I'm oretty sure a lot of people would have the nickname, screen name or whatever as "In-chan"

one thing is, i can't trade! no-one else has the game, and the only person who has had finished it, and abandoned it!! so that means i can't get any more mission items *sob*

been playing it recently. very addictive. good game, though i can't compare it to FFT because i've never played it.

the battles are so damn slow, but. it takes like 10 mins a mission coz of all the animations. is there any way to change this?

M
September 17th, 2004, 01:11 pm
There is no way to change this feture; it's part of the experence in the game....

Phenix
September 17th, 2004, 08:28 pm
Removing the JP and EXP display messages (change the settings in the options menu) might increase the speed slightly but not by much

Asher

yeah, but you still get to keep playing and get a whole lot of secret characters

thumby
September 21st, 2004, 07:04 am
i'm not going to be doing that anytime soon, whats the point? i managed to pass the whole game with my original characters as well as an extra moogle which i made into a juggler/shooter, and that was all that was required.
