So I have been MIA for over a few years or so because of my work obligations (writing for film is a busy job and I don't get as much free time to do things I want). One of the groups here in LA commissioned me to work on a medley of the best soundtracks from Nintendo. Now, it doesn't specify when in the history of the company the games are from, but since it is "From 8-Bit and Beyond" at least I got to have something old school in there.

Now I have only been at it for a week or so, but I have chosen some things to go in there.

The Moon - From Ducktales (NES)
Schala's Theme w/ To Good Friends - From Chrono Trigger

So far I have these being worked on and thought I'd share with you their progress. Attached is scores and .mp3 for the audio.

I plan on including:

Intro - Mega Man 2 (depending on how worn out the brass is I might cut this).
Zelda - Not decided yet, most likely the main theme arranged.
Mario - Not decided yet, most likely the main theme, or major world theme arranged.
Ice Climbers - Main Theme
Kirby - Gourmet Race
Dr. Mario - Virus Theme (optional)
Earthbound - Onett (a mix of both original Earthbound and Super Smash Brothers most likely)
Mario 64 - Slide Theme

Not sure yet how this is going to play out so enjoy the stuff worked on so far. Two rough scores not finished yet (at all, just one weeks worth of work so relax) and the audio for The Moon - Ducktales :flirt:

Also, if you all have any suggestions let me know and Ill consider them. Nothing above, excluding the two already worked on, are absolutely going to be in. Most of whats above, that has not been worked on, are just ideas.

Edit: Also upon completion I will make an Orchestral version as well (at my leisure).

Ill try not to. I am not very exposed to the music from Pokemon so Ill have to go in and listen to more of it. Any music from Pokemon that you'd suggest?

Update: Edited range errors in brass for Ducktales and switched English Horn solo to Soprano Sax solo in Schala (It works better, not as somber, and is more dynamic a tone option). Doing closing section to Ducktales and going to add a hint of the Main theme from Chrono Trigger into my Schala arrangement). Also finished the score layout for Gourmet Race from Kirby's Dreamland.

Got further in Ducktales and Schala's theme and started Gourmet Race from Kirby. :) Ill post some audio files for listening probably next week of their progress.

Sorry I have been away for a while ladies and gents. So far I got Gourmet Race, tied in with a bit of Green Greens done and I have pounding out a way for Schala's theme to have part of the opening theme in there. Ducktales, The Moon, section is nearing completion, just needs an ending (though a lot of that will change as I connect everything together.

I decided I lacked a lot of slow pieces and pulled out the opening theme to Secret of Mana and the Love Theme from Final Fantasy II (IV JP). I even started hashing out the plan for the opening to Mega Man 2 with the Dr. Wiley dungeon theme. So its getting there and I am sorry it is not as fast as some of you would probably like. Perhaps I will post some audio updates of how it is all coming along.

Remember, I do plan on doing an orchestral version as well, but will most likely be very different in presentation since the orchestration is very different and I do want to do a Sega medley at some point too for laughs.
