I recently uploaded some of my drawings. One is a couple and the other are just a few faces. IF you want I can draw your character but you have to give me a week to complete a full and four dace for a half body. :) just post your character's description but I don't promise best results.

you can draw my character

Name: Ruric de'Adril Meszandroll
Lv.4
Gold: 0 GP
Items:Party hat
Gender: male
Age: 16
Race: Human/Angel
Alignment: good
Class: thief (not like to steal things though, exept from enemies[just referring to speediness])
Element: light
Equipment: short spear
Merits: genius, nice, hero, increased agility
Flaws: Racist(towards demons), ill-tempered
Appearance: Ruric has croppy blonde hair that hangs down into his deep green eyes. He usually wears a flowing green trenchcoat, lined in gold, that hangs down to his knees along with a pair of brown pants. He has a beautiful pair of white angel wings, but only takes them out when he needs them (due to more than a few unfriendly poeple). He lives among humans, although no one knows about his angel blood. He is usually outgoing and friendly, but if you get on his bad side....you..don't want to get on his bad side.

That's a good picture - you've got a knack for drawing clothing, that trench-coat is excellent. Good facial expression too!

Gotta upload this for mission.

Edit: A quick sketch for mission.

Appearance: Tall for his rumored age(16), he always wears slightly tight clothing, because he usually takes missions where little to no noise is expected, and baggy clothes just dont do that trick, his favorite colours are both black and blue, as evidenced by the fact that he pretty much always wears black clothing, his blue hair stands out in a crowd, but being a cross-breed of a Human and an Elf, he is rather skinny, with very few places having more to the touch than flesh and bone, and those long, pointed ears ensure that he always gets those faces that say "freak!"

yeah... it's for Eagle when he was a half-Elf :P thankies! I don't really care about half-body or full-body, I just wanna see :P

Hm..... interesting. Some of the handrawn ones have some odd proportions. And I don't really get that realistic feeling when I look at it. It looks..... flat. Don't feel too bad, my drawings are the same. Flat. >_> Good detail, though.

Muhahaha, I drew Ariana. It is orange because I don't have a scanner so I need the effects to make it look clearer.

I had art lessons years ago. The closest I ever came to drawing something considered art is --> http://s44.photobucket.com/albums/f46/meim2/?action=view&current=IMG_0497.jpg The real thing looks better.

Ah, hair..... my arch nemesises. >_> Yea, I kinda suck at drawing hair. T_T Good, but in my view, this is a younger child, just because..... um..... yea. Also, just to point out, on the right (her right) arm, the sleeve is kind of weird sticking out like that. Normally, the sleeve will start on the top of the arm and drape downwards. Defying gravity..... >_>

I did the keys by copying, pasting, looking at my keyboard and lots of fustration.

I think I know about the younger child thing, it is err.. easier to draw. Ariana is LePapillionRouge's character, I think it would be fun to draw. Thanks for the comments.

@ Dinster, I like drawing clothes more than people, haha, so I try to draw at least half-body and I still can't draw errrmm.. figure properly. Your avatar does look like a girl XD.

Recently I download an application for my Nintendo DS, Colours. It made me realised how easy people draw those pictures that seem way too difficult for the mouse, I feel so cheated. Everybody should confess about using a tablet!:bleh:

Sorry, but I can't accept that! O:
Anything you can do with a tablet, you can do with a mouse. It just takes more patience with the mouse, since you'll be using the Pen and Polygon tools a whole lot. I'd like to point out that even though your ocarina has a decent outline to it (actually, even the outline is far from correct; look at the original ocarina again!), you still showed no knowledge of color or value through the drawing (eg, it looks like a flat drawing, instead of an ocarina.) Basically, anything you've looked at and said "Whoa impossible" at, is still impossible for you. Here are a few examples of things you may have looked at and said "wow, impossible. I wish I had a tablet," at:

...Suhprise, they're all mouse drawings!
Being a good artist doesn't come from being able to draw things well; it comes from being able to see things clearly, and understand how they can be broken down into abstract colors and shapes on a page. As you and I have both demonstrated, we're not very good artists, even with the convenience of tablets. There's a reason for that. ;)

Oh, also...the last drawing I did (http://eterna-soft.com/images/021008SansaFinished.png) was a full mouse drawing. I thought I'd try one out, since everyone is always saying that tablets make you an artist, and I can't stand that statement. Practice and hard work make you an artist! A real artist can draw with anything! Etc etc!
Ah, and those pictures come from Kristen Perry (aka, Merekat). She does art for Valve once in awhile, as you may have guessed, and she's a really cool girl. She prefers the mouse to the tablet; she says it gives her better control. She's not the only professional artist I've heard of with this opinion. If she heard what you just said, she'd probably go on a killing spree/redo all of your drawings with the mouse and yell at you.
Well, no...she'd probably just give you the rant that I just gave you, actually... :heh:

I mean it the way some of those online drawing tools, whereby they replay back how people draw, and those people don't use need any polygon tools to help them. I do know that people use paint with their mouse to draw wonderful things shown in youtube. But I can't believe that people can have that good control with mouse, when they don't have the line tools. If so, let them be known throughtout the world!

I admit I lack artistic ability, the fact I cannot deny is that I failed TWO art exams before some years ago... Most people don't believe you can fail art but you can and I proven it by terribly painting skills and poor prepartory drawings! Art is a compulsory subject in lower secondary. Toward the subject about you criticising my drawing, I don't really need that because I can see real life contrast in abilities with people that are talenting in drawing. I bet my friend can draw that first picture on canvas. It is scary, it is like those people have super eyes or something, they can see the exact colour to use for shading, perfect proportion and just..freaky.

But still, I admire your art, HopelessComposer and wish you continue drawing because you WILL get better. I have seen another friend's artistic ability progressing over 12 years and on and it is was from children's art to compeition winner. If she becomes a mangaka I am going to shamelessly help her promote. Hohohoh. Talent is also very important other than hardwork, the way I see it. If a person lack the ability to see proportion, we don't usually see them developing that skills even if they practice and practice. Also not all artists can't draw with anything under the sun, artists do have to learn to use different medium too and might not excel in all. Generally, I think the term 'artist' is still more about interpretation and expression, contempory art can be killing a cow.... Kristen Perry can rant at me but that is not going to reverse the fact she is the rare few artist creating digital art to think that mouse gives people better control.

Why should they be known throughout the world? Drawing with a mouse isn't much harder than drawing with a tablet; if you start off drawing with a mouse, and get good at it, you'll like it more than drawing with a tablet. Using a mouse forces you to draw with your whole arm, so doing so is actually enforcing good drawing technique. Have you ever even drawn with a tablet? You have to get used to tablets too, you know; looking at your monitor while drawing on a piece of plastic three feet lower is tougher than it sounds.

I admit I lack artistic ability, the fact I cannot deny is that I failed TWO art exams before some years ago... Most people don't believe you can fail art but you can and I proven it by terribly painting skills and poor prepartory drawings!
Oh, I believe you can fail at art. I'm surprised more people don't, actually. I've seen worse artists than you get into art schools and such, believe me. I'm surprised that you failed when they didn't!

Toward the subject about you criticising my drawing, I don't really need that because I can see real life contrast in abilities with people that are talenting in drawing. Yup, and I bet she could draw it with a mouse too.

Thanks, I hope so. :heh:

Actually, it's kind of common knowledge that pretty much anyone can learn to draw very well, hahah. X3

Kristen Perry can rant at me but that is not going to reverse the fact she is the rare few artist creating digital art to think that mouse gives people better control.
She's not really very rare though. Go to a paint chat sometime; 99% of the artists there will be using the mouse instead of a tablet, and all of them are a hundred times better than both of us combined. ;P
Drawing with a mouse isn't a worse way of drawing than drawing with a tablet, it's just that most people find tablets more intuitive, because most people are used to pencils. If you're forced to use a mouse for five years because you can't afford a tablet, there's a good chance you'll become extremely comfortable with the mouse, even to the point of liking it more than a tablet.

Ah, also, I did a full landscape painting today at work, on MS paint, with a mouse. It came out pretty damned good. =D
I'll post it here when I bring it home in a few days.

Ah, and sorry for hijacking your thread. I like the girl on yellow paper the most out of any of your drawings, because it's the most complex and well done one. The lightbulbs and such are nice, but don't show much about how good you are. For the guy eating the communion, I'd suggest learning how to block out the head/learning some head anatomy. You can find simple tutorials for drawing heads all over the internet. The one I used a million years ago was over at www.polykarbon.com , but I'm sure there are much better ones out there. X3

If you use a tablet PC, the problem of the three feet lower... Do you major in art? Why would drawing with your whole arm be good technique? I mean this as a true question. The canvas friend is a guy, I have no idea about his mouse skills. Not that I take art but The lightbulb thing was done in mouse. It was a hell to do. Apparently you haven't seen enough people who can't draw, hahaha. I see your point towards the mouse matter whereby people are accustomed to use mouse over years and years.

If I have time, I might just go and see the heads. HAHA! St. Jerome drawing is an imitation art go way wrong. Still I like it loads but nobody seem to know where it is from, I like art beyond anime. Hijack all you want! I shall describe your upload picture in the best fake critic manner I can do.

If you use a tablet PC, the problem of the three feet lower...
Yeah, but tablet PCs don't count as tablets. They're not pressure or tilt sensitive, so they kind of defeat the main purpose of tablets, which it to make blending and such easier.

Do you major in art? Why would drawing with your whole arm be good technique?
No, I'd never major in art. I can't stand art classes, hahah! Drawing from you arm instead of your wrist (like many people do by habit) is supposed to make getting strong, straight, and clean strokes easier. You and I both "pet" our lines, making them look scratchy and messy. Drawing with your whole arm is supposed to help relieve that problem.

The canvas friend is a guy, I have no idea about his mouse skills.
It doesn't matter what his mouse skills are, though. If he has a good understanding of form and color, he could redraw what he usually draws with a mouse, even if he's awful with the mouse. It would just take him a long time. That was my original point; if you don't know what your subject looks like, it doesn't matter what tools you use - your drawing or painting will come out badly regardless.

Apparently you haven't seen enough people who can't draw, hahaha.
Believe me, I've seen plenty. It's finding people who can draw that's hard. :heh:

If I have time, I might just go and see the heads. HAHA!
Heh, you should if you find time. It would probably be helpful. :3
Here are some other really good tutorials for you, too, since you seem to like pencil:
