Anyone made songs or played songs that involve weird time sigs?

I've made a few songs in 5/4 and a few in 5/8 before, but that's about all for weird songs.

Most time sigs just don't sound right though if they aren't in either x/4, x/3, x/2, or x/8... It's too hard for the mind to comprehend phrasing done 5 beats in a measure, etc. Lol. Agreed?

My cousin likes the songs with "different" time sigs. I forget what he calls them.

I think they're wierd, because it's like 2+2+1=4? It's hard to explain. It just doesn't fit. Time sigs like 5/4 are good to use for like one measure to fit in the melody.

I've found that of the wierd time signatures, any of the based around 7 (7/4 7/8) usually seem to work pretty well and sound just the right level of wierd. If you want to hear an example for yourself just listen to Money by Pink Floyd.

They work if you know how to use them properly.

My god, Debussy used irregular time sigs like 12/16=2/4 (that means 12/16 in the first bar, 2/4 in the second, etc..) and it still worked.

irrational time sigs? no one's going to mention them? when you end up with irrational, additive time sigs( eg. 3+7/15), it won't work. However, they make me laugh, and they do exist.
