One more new topic today

it is officially the most messed up film in the world. It's only 1/2 hour long but it's not at all simple or straightforward

I watched the DVD commentary and even the director wasn't quite sure what was happening, which makes it difficult more anyone else to make heads or tails of it.

Well it's about this little cat name Nyokko (or something) and his older sister Nyakka.

Nyakka is sick in bed and death comes and steals her soul. Nyokko then follows death onto a bridge and fights over his sister's soul and is able to retrieve half of it. After that it's basically the two cats on an adventure to find the rest of her soul, but it's not that simple...

cat soup is really messed up and hard to understand. I understood it ok but when I watched it with my mom we kept having to pause it so I could explain what was going on.

Sounds weird, I would probably love it though because I'm so weird hehe.
EDIT: A really weird film that I've seen would probably be The Piano, it was so weird and boring.

I don't think cat soup was meant to be understood. I watched the commentary by the director, and he said that they didn't really know what was happening.

I've watched it 4 or 5 times, and I'm just looking for recurring themes and motifs (water, the red flower, the metal butterfly) and I'm trying to distinguish between what is reality and what is just imagination. (one step at a time ne)

I'm gonna show it to my english teacher and see if she can understand it, as she analyze even the most abstract literature (I hope that means she can do films as well)
