"I've heard that voice before!!!!...but where <_<"

yep it happens to most of us, here are a few I've caught, or thought I caught. Some of them just sound alike

Seto Kaiba (Yuugi-ou*) <> Brock Harrison (Pokemon) Eric Stuart

Alucard (Hellsing) <> Amon (Witch Hunter Robin) <> Tsume (Wolf's Rain) <> (Alex Rowe) <> Togusa (Ghost in the Shell: SAC) Crispin Freeman**

Edward Elric (FullMetal Alchemist) <> Kougaiji (Slayers) <> Phantom Dark (D.N. Angel) Vic Mignogna

Tohru Honda (Fruits Basket) -she sings too! the ending theme <> Marlene Angel*** (Blue Gender) <> Lust (FullMetal Alchemist) Laura Bailey+

Son Goku (Saiyuki) <> Satoshi Hiwatari (D.N Angel) Greg Ayers

Sha Gojyo (Saiyuki) <> Seiya (Saint Seiya) Illich Guardiola

Genjo Sanzo (Saiyuki:ADV) <> Orphen (Sorcerous Stabber Orphen) David Matranga

Genjo Sanzo (Saiyuki:Geneon) <> Lantis, Zagato, Rayearth, Windam (Magic Knight Rayearth) <> Sanosuke Sagara, Iwambo (Rurouni Kenshin) <> Crim (.hack//SIGN) Lex Lang++

Hikaru Shidou (Magic Knight Rayearth) <> Meilin Li (Card Captor Sakura) <> One of Minoru's Persocoms (Chobits) <> Lime (Saber Marionette J Again) Julie Maddalena +++

These two just sound alike I don't really know if they have the same VA
Yami Yugi (Yuugi-ou) Dan Green <> Mew Two (Mew Two returns)

these are just a few, can't really list 'em all, anyone have anything else to add?

*yes that's how it's spelled, Yuugi=king ou=games
**I heard he also does Zelgadiss but I've only watched Slayers in Original Jap ^^
***how i hate her
+I'm not really fond of her work :bleh:
++my fave :rolleyes: *sigh*
+++my other fave ^^

Thats my game in some ADV produced dubs, most glaringly obvious are spike & tiffany in Nadesico voicing characters suspiciously similar to their Eva characters, a rare case of the dub actually increasnig some of the nods to other series & humour

Eric Stuart also does James in Pokemon. (I think) And I am pretty sure Yu-gi-oh is... well I just typed it. (well that's what it is on the show and toys...) (NO! I DIDN'T NOT BUY THE TOYS...lol)

Haha, don't complain you people, in the Netherlands it's so bad the Dutch anime community has an official name for it (The Misty syndrome, after Misty from Pokemon).

BTW, it also happens with Japanese voices, in anime from the 90's you'd hear Megimu Hayashibara everywhere, along with the person who does Excel and Misato (Excel Saga and NGE). The guy who did Ill Pallazzo (Excel Saga) also did more voices, etc etc. It's something you can't avoid really.

edit:

Yuugi-ou*

Maybe, but the official dubs and pretty much all of the world says Yu-Gi-Oh so let's stick to that. I know that Vegita is actually called Bejita but since the world doesn't understand that we don't call him that either now do we?

edit2: Yu-gi-oh gets over 4 million hits on google, yuugi-ou only 35.000 =P

If you go to http://tvtome.com and search for a show or voice actor, you can click on the voice actor's name and it'll usually show a list of other characters from other shows that the voice actor has done. (Hmm, is that a run-on sentence?)However, I'm not entirely sure if all of the voice actor info is 100% accurate, and it won't list every character that the voice actor has done. That site lists a lot of shows and movies, though, including anime and non-anime.

If you take a look at this page:

http://www.animenfo.com/animeseiyuu,26,nsr...hibara_meg.html (http://www.animenfo.com/animeseiyuu,26,nsrsoi,hayashibara_meg.html)

you'll see all the roles Megumi Hayashibara voiced. Seriously, it doesn't only happen in American dubs.

I know I know, I watch the japanese dubs too. Only because English is my strongest language and I don't speak Japanese I can't recognize Japanese voices as well as I do English. That's really the only reason I put up only English VA up, I only find out that a Seiyuu did such and such voice is if I look at the Japanese credits ^^ get me? ^_^
