what did you think of akira, i thought it was gory, to gory for m tast, i almost barfed from the mutation scean and now i can feal bile moving up if i even see an image from it or just remember one... :sick: :sick: ...but over all it was amasing, it would be dooler if it was more thinky type, like evangelion or rahxephon... i love rahxephon!!! but back to akira :sick:

I watched Akira first when I was in fifth grade, maybe it was because I was young but I was like

blood...gore...meh. Ugly green old kid lady with a doll...blech...meh

didn't really have that much of a reaction to it except that I didn't like it, I think I should go out and watch it again...or something.

Then right after Akira I watched Ghost in the Shell, I think it was the OVA (OAV whatever) it was where Major Kusanagi went diving and had a kid's body in the end...back to AKIRA ^^

The only thing I really remember from Akira is the trailing taillights of the bikes and the scene were one guy thinks his guts are falling out of his stomach. I saw this...over ten years ago I think, at a friend's place. Didn't like it back then, probably still won't like it. Next to that, it's heavily overrated.

Wow. I must be one of the only ones who might like it then :mellow: I found it to be pretty good, it had good progression and maintained my interest for pretty much most of the film. The characters were good. Hardly perfect but it did help initiate the interest of Anime in the west so we gotta thank it for that. :)

Akira is one of the old classics, I'd say, something that belongs right next to Astro Boy and Neon Genesis Evangelion on my manga shelves. I confess I've not seen the anime, but I'm buying the manga - at Waterstone's extortionately high prices.

As generally is, the manga was a lot better then the anime. But anyways, I really enjoyed the anime, took me a few times watching to understand it, but overall I got the picture. I didn't think it was too gory (of course, when you see lots of anime like me, you get a standard), but could certainly use more work on music. Good storyline, if you got it, hehe.

okok...but the manga is gorier other then there is no color, its better. but i say it what, when i was 6-7...so i was like.... :sick: :sick: :sick: :sick: :sick:

I borrowed Akira on DVD from the library about.. 3 years ago I think. Really did not enjoy it. X_X

they had them at the video rentals... because we had no internet, the only anime/manga stuff we could get to was at video rentals...
but that was yonks ago!!!

I hated Akira, very overrated. I don&#39;t even want to watch it again to see if I change my mind... :D

lol.. emulators is me friend... and so what if its in japanese.. i can still play it.. even though i dont understand, i can still play (note that i got stuck because i had no idea what i was doing...)
