Hey everyone! I am a big fan of two out of the four released (Two have remained in Japanese which is "Fantastic Space Odyssey" and "Blue Sphere") Star Ocean games. I highly enjoyed both Star Ocean: the second story, and Star Ocean: till the end of time. What are some things you like about any of the games, including the other two if you have had the rare opportunity to experiance them?

Star Ocean: the second story ~ I was a big fan of Rena Lanford. She is somebody who is a lot like me besides the whole adoption thing. She was so innocent and sometimes weak if you didn't work on her early on, she deffinately was important because of her ability to heal. I really loved the song from the Shingo Forest, it was ever so peaceful. The best place was deffinately Fun City. My favorite battle was against Cyril and Decus, they were much harder than Indalecio if you didn't talk to Filia in order to get rid of his limiter. Best movie sequence was absolutely the ending with the birds flying, the space ship, the rain, and snow, OMG it was beautiful! That actually may have been my favorite song lol

Star Ocean: till the end of time ~ It was a tie between Nel Zelpher and Sophia Esteed. Sophia is too whiny, but Nel is annoying after awhile, she never stops talking! I absolutely loved the song "A Small Bird That Forgot How To Fly." The vocals were amazing! Favorite place was either Gemity because of all the colors, it was breathtaking, or the Cave of Tribulations. A battle I definately enjoyed was in the desert against the three headed beast (sorry I'm drawing a blank here). Most amazing movie clip was the battle between the Federation and the Executioners.

If you ever want to talk to me about Star Ocean, trust me, I'm all ears. ^_^

great games. SO2 closely mirrored ToP though, so that was kinda weird. the best part was all the different endings you could get.

Gahhh, I can't kill that last secret boss for SO, End of time.!!!!!! She pisses me off. lol

Show spoiler (javascript:void(0);) Freya is soo cheap, she just keeps using Ether Strike on me and boom, one hit kill. I was new to that game and never got used to the "patent" thing. and because of that, I lost some good items that I could only use once cause they seem rare to find. I think it was some sort of shield that makes you invincible for a little while but you can't attack during that time.

Fayt is pretty awesome when you have his Etereal Blast. My party is usually Fayt, Maria and Sophia.

Yeah, the special endings were a plus. It really gives you something to work towards in both of the games. I was never able to obtain the "secret" ending for SO2 though where they are all there.

Which boss are you talking about seeing how there are a couple of secret places you can go to after you complete the game. Either way, you definately are far. Fighting Fayt and Sophia has been driving me insane, I definately need to level up some more in order to defeat them.

If you click on the "Show Spoiler" I wrote uptop, you will know which secret boss I'm talking about. yeah I beat Fayt and Sophia together. it was hard cause of Sophia's spells. That secret boss I'm talking about, it's the very last secret boss. Obviously once you take a look at that boss, it will definitely show you the meaning of "Never judge a book by it's cover" X_X I'm at level 212 and still can't manage to beat that boss. =_=

Yeah lol I noticed after I replied. But yeah I know who you are talking about, amazing isn't it? I haven't made it to that boss yet but I'm on my way. I'm NOT looking forward to it lol Yeah, Sopias spells do make it hard, Fayt isn't really the problem. He can be though, don't get me wrong. Succubus was a waste of time though, don't you agree?

You really should try out SO3, even though I actually did prefer SO2. There are way to many clips and stuff and not so much play time. It's nice at first, but not when you sit there for half an hour waiting for them to finish talking about stuff that at first nearly makes no sense to you lol *shrugs* But it was still an amazing game none the less.

its weird... lol
what is the battle trophies for??

oh, can i get any tips on the game??

Rena_Lanford
April 14th, 2005, 05:59 am
Battle Trophies are basically awards saying you completed a certain task such as beat a certain boss under 1 minute. If you earn enough you will be able to unlock certain things like new costumes during battles, harder game play modes, and a music sampler.
Some tips for the game is to talk to people in order to grasp the situation better and sometimes get some nice things. Don't sell your weapons because you will want them for item creation later in order to upgrade them, and look closely for things.
If you want to earn a bit of money complete maps to earn Scale Bunnies. They are quite useless. Nothing happens if you collect them all so sell them to shops.

If you want to know anything else, just let me know.

yea i have the 2nd story on the psx :3 original :heh:
Its A Great Game, I like the way you fight in battles , Real Time.
The skills you get are cool too :P , but i dont understand how to cook and craft tho haha XD
The Cutscenes Are well made aswell :P

And The TV serie is awsome too :D

Rena_Lanford
April 14th, 2005, 02:16 pm
Oh well cooking you will find is much easier in second story than it is in till the end of time. Basically after a battle you get SP (skill points) You use these once you purchase skills at the guild. You select a skill you have purchased and use your SP on that skill (best to begin with perseverance, it lowers the SP needed for everything). Once you learn an ability you go to the item menu and press tirangle. Go to item creation and use for ex. cooking. You click on an ingrediant that you have either found or bought and say cook. If all goes right you will be able to cook real food, but it may also be a failure like rotten sashimi, or unidentified. In the case that it is unidentified you use the technique identify.

Hope this helped a little bit. If you are still confused, let me know.

And I agree with you, the TV series is fantastic all of the episodes 1-26 are great! But I think I'll stay on topic lol

me <3 star ocean: till the end of time!!!!! its such a good game, but its two discs!!! @_@ @_@ i probably won't have time to go far in it, but i really like it. i already know who will make up my final team!

Rena_Lanford
April 15th, 2005, 03:02 pm
Whenever you start a new game you can continue your battle trophies. Or if you saved before that battle trophy took place (except for any of the consecutive ones) you can just load up the file. Also, just make sure your characters are well rounded, it's best to bring up HP and Defense, but be sure to raise your Attack and MP as well since those are critical. Also, be sure to battle as much as possible if you want some of the harder battle trophies and stronger characters.

I am so glad that you like the game, hopefully you do get far in it and have the chance to finish it. The game is amazing and lots of battles on disc 2. Disc 2 also has my favorite place Gemity, yeah yeah!

toki
April 18th, 2005, 02:22 am
okies.. so is there like characters that you can get and miss like in SO2?

Rena_Lanford
April 18th, 2005, 03:04 am
There isn't really anybody that you can miss, but there are characters that you can't have if you choose another ultimately. For example, if you choose Nel, you can either get Roger or Albel later unless you choose Pepitta because it takes up one too many spots. Also, there are certain actions you have to do in order to keep Albel or Roger. If you want one of those characters in your final party just let me know, if you don't do the one of the actions you recieve Nel no matter what.

April 18th, 2005, 09:19 am
Well...I like Star Ocean Till The End Of Time! :D It's a really fun game...looks like RPG and when fighting...It's like an action.

To shui_hu:
Well...There are about 10 playable characters, but you can only have 8 playable characters.

Fayt (The most well-balanced character that his defense is the highest of all! He had some good combos technique, have some symbiology and have elemental blade technique like Blazing Sword,it can hit Hp and MP!And if the opponents' weakness is fire, you can kill is easily but if opponent can absorb or resistance to fire, it'll be tougher so used your strategy wisely.)

Sophia(A symbiology(A mage). She's also a good healer. But she had a weakness, her defense is very low that she might be knocked out easily. Some people thought she's a useful character...why? Because her INT is strong, her magic could even ignore the enemies' defense. Plus, if you used the workshop on 30% INT or something, her INT might be 9999.)

Cliff (A strong melee attacker and could do the most combos! When he attacked the monsters, I think he had the fastest attack, except "Max Shockwave" or some slow technique. He had the highest HP...but I forgot what was his weakness... Hmmm....Oh yah! Cliff had a very low MP so be careful when you fight a MP killing monster.)

Maria (A long-range attacker. She could shoot her guns at the monster from long distance...She's also a good MP killer, "Energy Burst" is the best. But her weaknesses are her movement is quite slow when you tried to move her, plus her defense is quite low.)

Mirage(Her status and her skills are a bit as same as Cliff and Maria's short range attack. Her MP is higher than Cliff though...She's quite a useful character. But since I didn't used her a lot, I don't know what's her weakness, I just know that Fayt's defense is higher than her.)

Adray(An old man...but like Sophia except than he can do better short range attack than Sophia and he had some skills that Sophia didn't have, but his defense is as low as Sophia.)

The characters below is the character you can get and characters you MUST miss...because you can only choose 2 characters here.

Nel(A ninja...She's not only a good symbiologist, also a great MP killer[like Fayt and Maria] I didn't use her often so I didn't know what's her weakness, if someone know a lot about her, help me explain to him... :sweatdrop: )

Roger(My favourite cute menodix! :D This little guy is quite fast and had good defense, at first, you thought his a useless character but if you used him often, he might be deadly...and...hmmm...weakness...well...I didn't know a lot about him.) =_=

Albel(Maybe A lot of Star Ocean fans like him, espeacially girls...Huh? OH....Ahem...By the way, his attack is quite high and his attack are quite fast and deadly. He's also a great MP Killer.Another reason why people wanted him badly because he was the toughest to recruit. And his weakness is his defense...it was his problem.

Peppita(A dancer who had some deadly technique, she could even freeze some opponent easily...And sorry, I didn't have a lot of information of her.)

[b]The way of recruit

To recruit the one above, like Rena Lanford had said, you can only recruit 2 characters.

Disc 1:

Nel:Just kept on playing the game.

Roger:Go to Surferio and enter one of the home...(Maybe It's opposite the grocery)

Albel:Go to an inn of Peterny, He'll ask you a question, and answered him, "Not really!"

Disc 2:

This is your chance to get Peppita when you walkthrough, but if you don't want her to join and wanted to recruit another character, do below.

Nel:Easy, :D Just talk to her at Aquios Castle at her room.

Roger:Talk to Roger at Surferio.

Albel:Woah...Looks like you are going to have a hard fight. Firstly, Go to Kirsla and asked Wolafn or something. (I forgot what was his name, I just know he's a leader of something and his name started with "W"). He'll tell you about Albel. Go to Ursa Cave and go where Crosell is. Talk to Albel and he wanted a one on one battle with Fayt! If you beat him, you'll recruit him.

The Hidden Technique

Well...Did I say Energy Burst and Max Shockwave...I explain about it to prevent confusion.
Some technique had to be learnt from books, which means after you beat final boss, you have to get them from sidequest.

That's all informtaion I can say, if some of my information is wrong, I apologize... =_=

Rena_Lanford
April 19th, 2005, 12:08 am
Well done Zero X, that is some very useful information for anybody who has not yet reached that point in the game.

Nel is a tough character, but is much stronger if you use her manually, rather than computerized. You are better off using her long distance attacks more often, like Flying Gulloitine. Also another good move for her besides Mirror Slice which you recieve very late in the game is Shadow Wave.

My main fighters were Fayt, Sophia, and Nel. I made sure that they could all do magic and heal. That is very important if you don't want to use thousands of blackberries to restore one characters MP constantly, especially if they die.

is there a way to regen your mp without using items and waiting till end of battle??

So that if one person gets low on mp, then the others can use their healing instead. It confused me too when I read that.

In order to get past the obstacles you need to recieve the ring of Disenterigation or w/e. You will understand once you reach this point in the game first you will you Disenterigation (or whatever that word is) hammers.

Back to the MP thing, I knew what I meant at the time but reading over it again I have completely forgot. If I remember I will try and refrase it.

toki
May 4th, 2005, 12:55 am
bummer i need a ring??
dang it!!!
also, how do you prevent from getting your bonus bar broken??
because i tend to get it, then i lose it in the next few battles

and also, i have yet to use any of those points (the ones where you make your stats higher).. because i dont know what to put it on
also!!! my hero has healing spells, but i cant use them inside battle!!!
he has got umm... "healing, cure poison, and a few attackin spells"
but the only one i can use in battle is "lightnin"
and yes, i have activated all of them so that i can use it... but it just doesnt come up!!! howcom?

Rena_Lanford
May 5th, 2005, 01:16 am
An easy way to prevent your battle gauge from breaking is not to get hit lol However, if you switch to a different character right before you get hit it wont effect you. Just put the skill points on whatever seems to be needing improvement. If it takes a long time to kill an enemy use attack, if you die easily use health, if an enemies attack causes a lot of damage use defense and if you die often of mp use mp. The spells you have to activate sometimes, try clicking on them in the menu if that doesn't work, make sure you have the skill activated in your battle attack menu (where you turn on critical hit and such).

toki
May 5th, 2005, 04:43 am
ahh kk, ill check my critical hit area thingy...

its just that i learnt the healing spells from an item.. so i was scared maybe its because it came from an item so i cant use it in battle... but ya, ill double check everything

also... my guys, well my hero, he isnt receiving any damage... does that mean iv gained levels too high?? because i didn gain that much, i think...

and also, for the status points stuff... is there a limit to it? or can i keep leaving it so it keeps going higher and use it when i want to?

Rena_Lanford
May 5th, 2005, 02:10 pm
Well, what level is your character currently at? What kind of equipment and where in the game are you?
There is a limit, I forgot what it was though, I'll have to check on that for you.

toki
May 10th, 2005, 07:51 am
hey, there are like caves and stuff in maps.... do we have to go back there later?? or is it like an extra place to go??
because i can kill the guys in this place (still kinda hard) but i can survive.. and i ran through and got this really cool and strong weapn ^^
should i go to the end of the place? or continue the story?

In order to recruit Albel on the first disc you need to go to "The Front Door" Inn in Peterny. It's right before you go to capture the Marquee Crossell. In the middle of your stay Albel asks how you feel about him. If you say "I hate you" he will not join your party. If you choose "Not really," he will.

Peppita you can choose as your eight party member only. This one will be obvious once you reach MoonBase

In order to recruit Roger you need to have recruited him the first time around when searching for Ameena. Later on, at the same time as Albels PA you can go to Surferio and enter Lucien's house. A cutscene will appear if you didn't choose Albel and you recruited Roger in the past. If you did one of those nothing will happen and you don't get Roger until much later in the game.

Nel - if you don't recruit either character (Albel or Roger) then you recieve Nel. It's as simple as that.

Which two should I get then? Nel, Roger, Albel or Peppita? On my first playthrough, I chose Albel and peppita and Double/Air Slash of Fury was awesome and same with Dream Hammer. Should I give Nel and Roger a chance? Also, what's 4-D mode? I saw videos and the characters like Fayt were wearing different costumes. How do you get them different costumes? Sorry about all these questions are but how hard is lenneth? I'm planning to use Fayt, Maria and Sophia. They're all level 140. Am I ready? I'll post items and stats if you want to know.

Nel and Albel are probably the best if you want speed. 4D mode is the hardest mode their is. The costumes you were talking about are 2P clothes that you get by collecting battle trophies. Level 140 yeah right. Im sorry but your going to need to level up your characters alot more if you intend to bring down lenneth. You may not be able to make even a dent in her if you intend to beat her. I think that level 255 is the recomended level. Can't remember (so correct me if im wrong). So yeah your also going to do alot of preparation too in the workshop and buying resurrection mists and MP bombs and other useful stuff as well. Good luck.

Ok, have you gone around Crossel and looked for the entrance to the Urssa Lava temple. Also make sure you have gone through the maze of tribulations. But by the way your stats looks, it looks like you've gone through them. To activate 2P and 3P clothes press the triangle button at the Status. I havent goten to the battle with Lenneth myself, but i do know that you have to have your characters leveled up to lvl. 255. Dont buy grab bag or anything else except for the santa clause boots. Because if you stay at a inn youll get an item. Theres a chance you may get a very valuable items like the Tri-emblem.

Press the triangle button at the Status???? What??? Oh and thanks, I found the temple. I have gone through them. Gabriel was extremely easy for me. I was level 114 and I got the beat him without taking damage trophy and under 5 minutes. Super easy. What does the Grab bag do? And thanks dude, you've helped a lot.

pianocrazy90
August 11th, 2006, 02:26 pm
I meant to put at the status menu. Grab bag means that you could get anything out of it. Its best not to risk using all that money on the grab bag, because the santas boots are the way to go and also you could get something crappy out of the grag so its just best not to do it.

I used to have Star Ocean the 2nd Story for PS1, and Till the end of Time for PS3... Traded them in. I liked till the end of time for a little while, but it had SO many flaws! Like, when I battled, nearly every single battle, at least one of my characters would just STAND THERE doing nothing...for no reason. You'd have to run up and like, touch him/her for them to start attacking. The dungeons were SOOO long and boring. The voice actors were TERRIBLE lol. I remember seeing Cliff and being like 'Cool!' then I heard him speak and i was like ".....nevermind."

After awhile, I got used to the terrible voice acting. But I couldn't get used to the long boring dungeons and messed up battle system. I really liked the story, but...I couldn't take it anymore, lol.

pianocrazy90
August 13th, 2006, 03:16 am
These types of games you just have take all the flaws and just not worry about them. Of course the dungeons came be long and a little boring, but isnt most rpgs. I mean this was the game that had gotten me to like rpgs alot more. I mean what rpg doesnt have some flaws? But this still was one of the best games ive ever played. And you just have to deal with these flaws, as with everybody in world, everybody has them, no body or game is perfect. You may think your favorite game is perfect, but not everybody will feel the same way. And I say this once again, this was the game that had gotten me on rpgs all together, if i had never knew about this game, where would I be now. Anyways the battles were fun regardless, and besides you shouldnt rely too much on the rest of your battle party, if not them, then you should do it. And also if you really want to know of whats going to happen in the game, then you shouldn't give up halfway through.

Why thank you joker12.

Anyways have you guys ever came across an enemy that you just had to laugh your head off. I sure did. Do you guys remember the noblemans, every time you try to kill them, they say "no wait", and then after you kill them the say "my body, oh my body owwwww". That just makes me laugh every time.Well just put your impute in. I know that this is off topic, but im just curious. And also has anybody defeated the champions from the ranking cup in gemity?

Well, yeah, no game is perfect, but this one was far from it in my eyes, lol. Battles were cool, I did like them...but I got mad when the party would just sit there. What's the point in having one if they don't help? Oh my goodness, and those idiot noblemen! LOL.."Nooo, not my body!" I kept killing them 'cause they were so annoying.

Maybe I should have kept the game instead of trading it in, but ahwell...

Sometimes they will just stand there, but Cliff and some other melee charcters seem to move a bunch. Maybe you have your team mates on manual or something. And another reason that they maybe standing in one spot is maybe they are hurt badly and cannot fight, because there is a point to where the auto controlled charcters will just stand there and maybe move to different spots to recoperate. Because they wont fight if they are hurt badly. But then again maybe thats just your game, mine seem to be moving alot and attacking if they are not hurt badly. Also I say this again you need to deal with enemy the best YOU can not of what the others are doing. Because in the future your going to have to be independent and rely only/mainly on yourself.

And yes you should have kept it. It was a really and still is a very fun game. The bonus dungeons were more fun than the real game in my opinion. Just the challenge was enough.

Oh yeah Tentenfan did you know that the champions were the announcers the whole time. Pretty weird huh.

Odd? Maybe it was my game then. I bought the special edition of it, maybe that's why. I usually fought as cliff while Fayt would just stand there, not hurt or anything. I'd have to run up next to him, then he'd start moving.

Darn, now I'm tempted to go buy it again...

Another thing, I could rarely EVER make something useful in those, er, blacksmith shop things. I didn't understand it at all...hah.

August 18th, 2006, 12:05 am
Oh you didnt understand the workshop. Well that would require a good bit of explanation. But when you get a new weapon and see if it has any good traites(sp?) like atk+1,000. If you were to see a good trait then you can try to duplicate it through smithery's specify option. But if you were wanting to create a new type of item then just go to original creation option. Now for you to actually create good items they require Fol and materials same for specify plan. And they also require the right people for the job. How to find good people, you need to go to the status window and go down to the Item creation information option. And see if any new guys have signed up or have already signed up, then once you found the person from their location you give them for what they need, like Fol or an item. Item creation also requires two more key ingredients perserverance and patience. Believe you me, it took me a while to be good at it. Creating and modify items is very tough, but is required of use in the main story and bonus dungeons. And also there is synthesising mode, all you need is a weapon that youd like to combine with some other item, whether it be an accesorie, item, armor, or just another weapon. But this is used so that you can have a much better weapon, beware, because there are only eight slots and you dont want to waist them. And the item you used will be gone forever. And also synthesising requires synthesising materials and tons of Fol! Just good luck to all who read this.

Ah I see... I actually think I understood it for a little while (That Or I got lucky a few times) but then I quit playing and when I started playing again, I couldn't do it. For some reason when you mentioned that synthesise thing, it made me think of Dark Cloud 2. I loved that game! Had the demo...was so fun. Loved the graphics too.

Ack, now I need to buy that, too.

Oh yeah Tentenfan did you know that the champions were the announcers the whole time. Pretty weird huh.

Yeah that was weird. I was like I wonder who the champions are and then I was shocked when I found out who it was. Sorry I called you pianoboy earlier, didnt see it was pianocrazy. :) And Melee, you should synthesis 7-8 Boots of prowess. I did just on Maria and Fayt to boost up their defense. Maria was slow so i put +30 movement rate on one. Dark Cloud 2 was great. Even though I dont own it, I played the demo.

pianocrazy90
August 18th, 2006, 04:20 am
Yeah, but I takes a whole lot of Fol to make fully refined boots of prowess. In fact I just finished making my last pair. Man, those things costed alot. It takes 19,000 fol just to get the 10% str/def and this is assuming you get it on the first try. Then it takes around 40,000 to get them to 30% str/def, but it took me a while to get the fully refined pair too. So believe me your going to want to have about 1,000,000 fol on you when you try to attempt to make the fully refined pair. After all those boots of prowess i put on my battle party, tri-emblems dont look to appealing anymore. And yeah maria is pretty slow, well next to sophia anyways.

Tentenfan
August 18th, 2006, 09:22 pm
What I did was you know the Dragoon Knights? The give off 170000+ fol. And when you beat them you get 12000. I got so strong to the point when I could beat them in less than 3 minutes. Add that with Double fol, Yeah that is good fol. I like Tri Emblems. They give about +1000 attack I think so yeah. I always control Maria. Her Energy Burst cancel bonused 200% does Major damage. Ethereal Blast is okay but slow. Sophia kinda sucks but she has 9320 INT which is why I keep her.

pianocrazy90
August 18th, 2006, 10:26 pm
Where were the dragoon knights again, because I have trouble remembering certain enemys? Yeah Ethereal Blast is slow but very powerful. Also Ive decided to mainly use attacks that cause MP damage. Because its easier to kill enemys that way. I know that some enemys have alot of MP, but alot of enemys have a low amount of MP.

Tentenfan
August 19th, 2006, 12:49 am
Yup. The Dragoon Knights are the number 1 team in the battle arena sorry. It's their team name. It consists of a Dragoon Knight and a Crystal Dragon. Is Sophia worth keeping? I agree. Gabriel Celeste had only 200000 MP and that was easy to deplete. Is Ethereal Blast better than Divine Blade? And should I put the Ethereal Blast for Long range or short range?

pianocrazy90
August 19th, 2006, 04:57 am
Oh, yep right after i posted that about the Dragoon Knights, I just went and played and you know what I had to beat them like three times just to fight Solon and Dirna. Not sure about if divine blade and ethereal blast, about which is better, because I havent used divine blade in a while. But I do think Ethereal blast was the better of the two, but to compaired to speed I think Divine was exacuted much faster. Because why would you just want to stand there for about 10 seconds for the attack to come out, while the enemy can just can and attack you. I havent used Ethereal blast on long range, so i wouldn't know. Hey what level were you at when you defeated Solon and Dirna anyways. I was at about level 186. Man, Dirna was just too much its like she wouldnt die you know. The first time I tried to take them on, Dirna went and used Explosion on my whole team and wiped all me and my team mates out. Solon was fast and seemed to guard almost every attack I threw at him, but he was easier to beat considering he only had 50,000 MP.

Tentenfan
August 19th, 2006, 01:35 pm
Umm... sorry but I was level 120... It was REALLY hard. Arcane Stars, Explosion, Solon's attack power was a lot to handle. I controlled Maria and whenever they got close to me, I'd run away and use Scatter Beam/Energy Burst and revived anyone. I died about 5 times before I beat them. Actually, I didnt even have Ethereal Blast when I did this. I did it though, yes truthfully at the level, maybe even less. Just got Radiation Bots for Maria, is awesome but I like Energy Burst better.

I <3 Fayt, Sophia, and Albel

Tentenfan
August 19th, 2006, 05:56 pm
I didnt find Albel too useful. I like I said control Maria and Albel on AI sucks. He doesnt chain his Air Slash of Fury/Double Slash of Fury correctly and is just a waste. Sophia is okay and Fayt is great.

pianocrazy90
August 19th, 2006, 08:41 pm
Wow, you tried that at level 120. I tried to go up agianst the demon lords, the team that was second ranked, at like level 125 and got my butt kicked. But after that, i decied just to go to sphere and level up some more, but as soon I as I knew it I was at level 184 and beat them hard.

Tentenfan
August 19th, 2006, 09:37 pm
When i first tried, I thought they were really hard. I eventually defeated them. The demon lords were hard. I beat them at level 140. Hey um you said Nel was great right? I'm gonna pick her for sure. Can you tell me more about Roger? I've never really used him except when he got flying torpedo. That was awesome, but he had so little MP and was so slow.

pianocrazy90
August 20th, 2006, 04:34 am
Yeah, I think that Nel is better than Roger because she is way faster and can execute attacks faster. I haven't used her much but she is still a great character. And the fact that Nel has alot of MP is a plus. Althogh, Roger did seem to have more HP than Nel. So you decide.

Tentenfan
August 20th, 2006, 06:39 pm
Thanks. I'm being molested by the Interogator on Universe mode. They hit 50 damage per hit, minor hits and they keep killing Fayt, Cliff and Nel one by one. I didnt think he'd be that tough. He's harder than Gabriel Celeste!!!! Or at least that's what I think.

pianocrazy90
August 20th, 2006, 08:46 pm
Do you mean the one of the first bosses at the start of the game? Also ive just beaten super blair, man she is seriously tough it took me a while to beat her. Every time I turned around she'd do another eddy of light attack on us, which really hurt. The worst thing about her is the fact she can cause both HP and MP damage, which really sucks.

Tentenfan
August 20th, 2006, 09:25 pm
Yeah, I beat him. Super Blair was REALLY HARD. She kept using Eddy of light none stop. I used Meteor Swarm to Stun Lock her while Maria and Fayt used Energy Burst and Ethereal Blast. Congrats on getting that far. I havent fought Lenneth yet. Do you know if Etheral Queen is hard?

pianocrazy90
August 21st, 2006, 11:20 pm
Well, know I havent gotten that far yet, but I do know that you have to be at level 255 before you should fight the both of them. And why are you questioning about the Etheral Queen if you havent even beatten Lenneth yet. All I know is that the ending bosses to this game must be super hard. I think Lenneth has about 7,000,000 HP. But do prepare for these battles.

Yeah thanks. You're my #1 talk to guy on this WHOLLLLLLLLLLLE board. Congratulations. Okay sorry. I'm just wondering about her. The Fayt vs Fayt battle was pretty challenging. Fayt was really fast and Sophia kept casting Gremlins and Meteor Swarm. Wished I fought them after Sphere 211 though...

pianocrazy90
August 24th, 2006, 01:32 am
Yeah that fight was really tough. Oh and thank you for that comment as posted in your last post. But im not sure if can give out any more information considering your almost near the end of the game. Because I myself havent beaten Lenneth, Ethereal Queen, and Freya. So im sorry if I cant help anymore, because basically in all the posts of mine above in this thread is all the help I can give out. Sorry if thats a bad thing. But its all up to you now. Ok. By the way I still wish they made another Star Ocean game, because they are really fun and time consuming.

I thought SO3 was brilliant, though i haven't had the chance to try out the 1 and2 games!!! It had load of great features and the graphics were great, i was sad to finish it?!!

August 26th, 2006, 02:14 am
Yeah. Maybe on the PS3. 5 years have past, The world has changed, but a new danger awaits our Fayt and his comrades... Sounds awesome. Hello? Pianoboy? I need your help once more. How many Decepit Tomes are there? (The tomes that give healing and antidote and silence) In my good game that's at Sphere, Maria, Cliff, Fayt all had healing. Are there only 3???

pianocrazy90
August 27th, 2006, 12:54 am
Um... Yeah, I think there only three that you can find. Sorry i even checked that you can't even create it either. But i donno you might be able to buy a decepit tome at an outfitter like the one in perterny. But I dont know still. Because I was dissipointed that I only found 3 too. But you should of only used those tomes on the final party that you were going to use. But since I had Sofia I didnt need the extra tome for my final party.

And btw, you dont have to keep asking if I am going to answer back, because I will answer back. And also I havent been on the computer at all today and last night. So dont blame me if I dont get you the answer in the time that you had hoped. Ok, not trying to be angry or mean or anything, because you love SO3 as just as much i do and you want an answer right away just like i do. Alright thats all I wanted to say, not saying you were doing that. And if I accused you too strongly I am sorry for that. Im just putting that out there. Ok.

Tentenfan
August 27th, 2006, 03:09 am
Okay sorry, nope I dont feel accused too much. Thanks for the info. I dont know what my final party will be. I thought I'd never use Sophia until right before Luther, I started using her she was like level 30 and she was with me on my final party. I wish I could help you sometime lol.

pianocrazy90
August 27th, 2006, 04:38 am
Nah, thats alright, Im ok, but thanks for your concern. Anyways, yeah I decided that I needed a spell caster or at least somebody that could go on healing duty, so I just chose Sopfia. It took at little while to level her up to my other characters levels, but I eventually got her there. I dont particaulary(sp?) like her using all those high MP attacks so I just took off almost every one of her spells. I use Fayt mid-range type fighting, usually up and close. I use Cliff to pound the heck out of the enemy. And I use Sophia for spells and mostly healing.

Tentenfan
August 27th, 2006, 02:13 pm
Maria I put as long range with Scatter Beam and Energy Burst. Fayt Medium-Short range with Side Kick and Ethereal Blast. Sophia is whatever. I found Cliff pretty much useless in the 2nd disc, no offense or anything. Adray was too slow for me. I put convert damage on Sophia and Victory Trophy on Sophia so that is a GOOD combination. Sophia's symbology is actually good. I think my next team on Universe mode will be Fayt, Nel and Roger. Hopefully that's a good combination. Albel is useless now. Didnt realize it until he got Air Slash of Fury

Tentenfan
September 18th, 2006, 10:38 pm
Can someone tell me who I should give the Decript Tome(sp?) to? Or who you recommend

pianocrazy90
September 18th, 2006, 10:40 pm
Well, it depends on the people you use in your battle party. So just say who's in your battle party. And I'll tell you the best one. Ok.

Tentenfan
September 21st, 2006, 10:31 pm
Roger, Nel and Maria/Mirage cant decide.

pianocrazy90
September 22nd, 2006, 11:24 pm
Well, I'd say Nel if she doesn't have it considering she has a ton of MP. I wouldn't use one on Mirage or Roger. But Maria or Nel would be good. But I haven't played in a little while so you choose the one that seems best.
