Very interesting pieces you have here. Echoes and Fly high are written in a rather unique sounding style, comprised of some strange mix of light-classical, jazz, and impressionistic harmony. It sounds a bit awkward at parts, but for the most part, it works rather well. I think you should mess with the tempo some more to give it a more humanized feel though, especially since when you have lots of fast notes flowing around. Giving them different slightly different 'weights' will improve the MIDIs a lot. The 4handed piece and canon are very neat too, though I'm not generally inclined toward such styles. Normally, I don't like serial music, but cannoning it makes it somewhat easier to follow; I did a canonned serial piece a while ago too, though the phrasing isn't quite as interesting as the ones you've done. The 4handed piece is very chromatic sounding, but the tight rhythms makes the flow very 'deliberate' sounding. It sort of reminds me of stuff by 20th century russion composers such as Shostokovich, Stravinsky, and Khachaturian. Anyways, I hope to hear more from you in the future; keep it up :).

My my, so sweet . .

4 handed-piano:
Not my taste, but you make it sound fun =)

Canon 006:
I prefer tonal =P but whatever . . although I had no idea what was going on, I bet if I analyzed the music, I'd find a lot of neat/complicated stuff going happening.

Fly high:
Renewed eh? I don't remember if I heard the original version. But anyways, it's nice. Don't know what else I can say ._. I'm not good at commenting, even though I do it a lot, haha. Well in this case you know what you're doing, so yeah =)

Echos was wonderfully syrupy. (My favorite)

Four Handed- I agree with Spc1st. It sounds very Stravinsky/Schoenberg. Parts of it are interesting, the way calculus is interesting. But it invokes little emotion besides loud dissonance. Once again, like calculus.

Canon was horrific.

"Two Sided" sounded like a more melodic Varése.

two-sided orchestra version was too bashing. try to add less instruments.

two-sided:
Wow, so dramatic, great use of the orchestral palette. That's all I can say, seeing as how I'm not an expert at this sort of music.

time:
For a 4-handed, I found it interesting how there were spots that it was only 1 hand. And I'm in awe for the parts when all 4 come in.

Echoes: Great piece with a great drive, but good luck finding a pianist ^_^
4 Handed: Insane! You like to write hard piano pieces, eh (me too  ). This really sounds great, I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only atonal around. It doesn't sound a lot like Schoenberg, more like Stravinsky if you ask me. Wonderful!!
Canon: Sounds a bit like the beginning of "Rituel In Memoriam Maderna" by Pierre Boulez, but only the beginning. It's a bit too academic I think.
Fly High: A bit boring. These low martellato chords in the piano are annoying.
Two-Sided: The title does fit the piece very well . It's well orchestrated and has fine harmonies. The ending is very abrupt.
Time: There's a famous Marimba piece (famous among percussionists) called Time. The untitled one is better, this one is a bit boring...I can't describe it very well.

Keep up the good work. "Echoes", "2 Sided" and "4-Handed" are brilliant!!!!

Echoes Part 1...
Ohhhhh, I like this song very much. I seems like it has a history in it. Maybe it´s just me.I think that the last minute is the best. Keep on with the good work. :D

Very nice songs you have there!

Echoes (first part) was quite nice. Four-handed was lively and complex. The Canon was a bit different. The beginning was nice, but the rest is...odd. Fly High is a very nice song! The flute (or whatever it is) came in nicely; and its title well-suits i!. The Two-sided Orchestra one was quite nice. I love orchestrated music as much as I like plain piano music, and this one had a good use of instruments. It seemed like it did have a bit too many instruments, though. Time was nice; a little like a hidden clock it was. It isn't my version of 'time', itself, but or a 'clock time.' It has a different ending chord, too.

I've only listened to echoes for the moment.

I think most good pianists could play the piano part.

I like this song. What's the instrument that comes in around 1:05?

Very atmospheric. I'm not sure if it's a completely unique style but it certainly is here at ichigos. Don't think anybody composes that style here. I'll listen to the rest when I've got more time.

Edit: Listened to the next three songs now.
Canon was horrific.

I think it was trying to create tension. The canon and the four handed sound like it was made for film music. Again nice atmosphere. Fly High sounded ok. I kept expecting a perfect fourth chord after the 6ths which I prefer, though I think you were trying to refrain from that. I'll listen to the other two eventually....

Man, I want this guy back! I LOVE his four handed piano, and I want him to come back so he can see the recording I made of it!

Well, this thread is pretty old, so...

Maybe Deathraider made a mistake in posting here or was really bored and looked for every thread that's existed and replied. :heh:

No, I REALLY DO love that song. It was entered in the CMA Night Theme competition. In fact, grim_nemesis posted a live recording of it on the "Post Recordings of Yourself Playing Something" thread in the Music Discussion forum.
