okay, Square has been a house hold name scence the premier of Final Fantasy, and their games have been on the top games for a long time, untill it became SquareSoft, then it became a powerhouse of activity, releasing new games almost every 5 months!
But the games went sorta blah when FF VIII came out, with the junction system and poor deatail alot of things(but not the graphics!) but FF IX turned it around, and went blah at FF10...and Was undecided At FF XI and X-2...but come on! Square-Enix!?
Enix Co. was fine and so was Square untill the merged in a mush or crap...allmost all their games havent done any good to the population..yet...I dispise Eniz Co. for mutating a perfect company...

It's all a matter of opinion.

Several people care more about graphics and gameplay then storyline.

RD
April 10th, 2005, 08:29 pm
yes, that too, but so far, square-enix hasnt been getting good reveiws on graphics, storyline or gameplay, it sorta sucks all togather

RD
April 10th, 2005, 08:55 pm
the truth, i made them, ive been a life long fan of both Enix and Square, and they have been one of if not the best, gaming company in existance, but now scence they mirged, the games havent been up to par and been re-releasing games no one wants and no re-releasing games people want; Ex. final fantasy 8, mana tree, FF tactics. but havent released; Chrono trigger(yes yes, its on the pack with ff 6, but i want it for GBA!) Chrono cross, FF 3-5 mario rpg....

Don't make up fake reviews to prove your point.

Thousands of people like the games they have been making. =_=

She's being sarcastic, don't pick at it and pretend that you don't know.

Millions, billions, of people like the current games. You are one person.

Hey!!! Re-releasing fftactics was a good idea, just bad execution. And I think you mixed up IX and X because X was far more popular than IX(I still liked it though).

Anyways, Squaresoft was way way better. They had great games even to their last(FFX I think), but when enix comes and mixes up with sqaure, you get things like FFTactics:Advance and Charlie's Angels, oh wait, I mean FFX-2.

RD
April 16th, 2005, 01:17 am
yeah, it was way more popular, IMO, i bought FFX to fast and didnt look at it first; it wasnt all too good; the graphics were perfect for the time, but the gameplay isnt all to good, IT DIDNT USE REAL TIME BATTLE!!! come on squaresoft, rtb is one of the only things they actualy made up to use in the game and pushed it out for a turn based battle, you can leave it there on your turn for hours and nothing will happen...realistic gameplay huh? but i loved kingdom hearts battle system, i hope they try a FF with the same thing (but fix the camera angle problem, it gets stuck alot and you allways have to change the angle in the middle of the battle!)

Oh, and they rereleased FF Tactics? on what?

Hiei
April 16th, 2005, 01:51 am
dont double post please.

also in my opinion, i like turn based better than real time. I'm a big fan of turn based because i'm one of those people who dont do well in time limit and time based battles. It makes me very nervous and it makes me hate the game even more because it makes me put more effort than i actually need into the battle. Valkyrie Profile though, is acceptable since its not really real time.

And also rtb isnt what they only made use of in the game. Remember FFV? they made use of the new classes, and that actually contributed to other final fantasies.

Realistic battle doesnt have to be all great. Turn based is good as well.

RD

yeah and its more of an opion based on what people enjoy more. but I enjoy a more realistic gameplay, but not realistic charecter design, I want games i play to be a world with a "reality" world

I personally prefer Square-enix myself. I never really did like Square-soft, and I have been playing games since I was born pretty much. So I'm not just some person who hasn't gave the others a try. I think it was a good move for them to combine.

the only problem i have with SquareEnix is that know they're releasing games at regular interval, so the FF doesnt mess up the sales of Dragon Quest, and vice versa. But i cant say that they lack competition at all

I think Square-ENix stopped caring about customers.
I thnik they love theFF series way too much.
anyone remember CHrono TRigger? I sure do!! It was such a great game and people want more. I cant find a single person who palyed CHrono TRigger and downright hated it. Instead Square Enix makes X-2. THey could have made a Chrono Trigger 3 or a remake of the original Chrono TRigger. Instead tehy made this pathetic game. There is also a site that was to create a free 3d remake of the original CHrono TRigger. IT had new music too. However, SE shut down the project by sending a Cease and Desist letter to the group. :( THere was nothing wrong with creating it. THe only reason they shut it down was because they used the names of the characters in teh originalgam in the remake. I think SE was worried that the remake would be such a hit and was afraid of losing money and publicity. SE should stop worrying about filling their pockets with moeny and think about what true gamers want

Now that i said what i believe
plz dont flame me :)

Final Fantasy is Square's little milkcow though, it has a much huger fanbase than Chrono Trigger.

OMFG! that wasnt a re-release of fianl fantasy tactics! that was its sequal, tactics advance!

*oops X_X I meant sequel*

Anyways, Final Fantasy does have a bigger fan base, but a Chrono Trigger sequal would be totally awesome. But not a sequel to Chrono Cross. It was an okay game but Trigger was way better.

square enix is making Chrono Break, the sequal to chrono Chross and Trigger. Im pritty sure they are making a re-make of Trigger for there is this one fan based group called Chrono Trigger Resurection and they have been making a C.T remake in #d, and it was pro quality too. but Square Enix shut it down and told them to stop or else. Square has never done such a thing to hardcore fans before unless they are making a sequal and dosnt want any one to mess it up with a free version, so yeah. get ready for Chrono x 2

...ps, its not a game called Chrono x 2, but i ment Chrono times 2

toki

huh?? so SE is basically only making remakes??
chrono trigger is cool! hehehe...

it really doesn't matter to me who made the game: soft or enix. as long as the game is good.

hmmmmm, i see some Mana games on that big list, but i only know of Sword of mana and Legend of mana (PS) being out. are the other ones released too? or are they "to be released"?? if they're out, i soo want to buy them!

Chrono Break is a rumour that has been going around the net for at least 4 years now.

I like all Square games really. I like FFVII the least though because of all the hype and overrating of it. Seriously guys stop having FFVI orgasms on the net >.> Anyway I find Square and Enix merging to be a good thing. It dosent change any of the FFs really. And its great financially. Theres really no bad thong about it.

RD
April 25th, 2005, 11:16 pm
No, square enix did release info about a sequl for chrono triger/cross, but the name chrono break is a rumour, so yeah. but the final fantasy series has changed alot now that enix joined square. but i hope it gets better (doubt it though...)

HA-HA! i found square history!

Square started with the lone famicom disk system (not a real disk, just a cartridge) and made a few, okay games...lol... later, when the more powerful game system came out, the NES. Square and Nintendo became very good friends sense the release of such games as Final fantasy 1 and so on...the SNES cam out later the next decade and more FF games came out and the very famous Chrono trigger and Super mario RPG on the snes.Nintendo was still using old technology (cartriges) when one company had some thing better to offer, Sony. when nintendo was in the cartridge era still, sony was using Cd's. square had ideas for their next game; FFVII; but they coulnt fit it all into one cartridge so they turned around to sony. nintendo wasnt so happy about this and vowed never to take part of any of squares projects again ( remember FF: Crystle Chronicles and FF;Tactics Advance?) some time later, square and EA Games joined to help make and distrabute games, but that didnt really work out to well (remember FFVIII?) After the release of FF IX square tried to make a movie that costed so much, they were almost in bankruptsy. so they joined enix Co.

Facts:
Rad Racers for the nes was made by square
some people want a vargant story sequal; FF 12 actualy looks like it could be one!
square is rich

I thought famicom was the japanese equivalent of nes.
you mean VII and VIII right?

I think they should establish a more commercial viewpoint and do a classical FF on Gamecube. Because FF:Crystal Chronicles is boooooring in Single Player.

Square made cool games (FF, Chrono Trigger, Front Mission etc.), Enix made cool games (though I can only name Terranigma).
