Obviously they have to be large enough to read... some subtitlers assume we all have 72" plasma TVs and make tiny subs... but assuming they are large enough, what do you prefer?

Personally, I prefer yellow as long as its not dark...

i agree yellow shows up really good

personally i prefer white, as long as the color does change when the background behind the subtitle is also white =_=

I agree with you guys that yellow is an excellent color and that is why it got my vote. However, in some instances, white is also a very good choice for subtitles.

I go for yellow... Bright and easy to read...

every color has its disadvantages..

yellow, well normally they put a black border around subtitles, and white would have it's disadvantages too, more so than yellow.

i like full moon wo sagashite... they had a new color for every person....

hehe, yellow is good... coz if the background is white, u can still read it... and if it&#39;s darker colour, u can read it too...

some subtitles are yellow with black outline... which is good too if the bg is yellow..

Yellow. Bright and easy to see (especially when its contained in black borders).

I think yellow has the best outcome. What&#39;s better is if it was yellow with black borders, just in case the background is yellow or white.

Definitely. It looks horrible. That&#39;s why I always like mine white, with a black border.

yup I was assuming a thin black border for all the options ^^

I prefer off-white. ^_^

i agree with ling though it is really neat if they incorporate different colors for different people

now that I think of it, some yellows do look ugly at times X_X

I prefer.. colors, that are comfortable

I think most people just vote yellow because they almost always have yellow subs X_X

lol i like new colour for every person too ^^;

Yellow cause you can always see it unlike white which is hard to see in the light.

I think that if it has a black border around it, you should be able to see it in any background. White just looks so much cleaner.

I don&#39;t think that subtitles should be a bright yellow that jumps off the screen at you

I also like the multicolour thing though, if it&#39;s used correctly. I remember that the Hikari no Kiseki fansub of Bottle Fairy used a different colour for each character. Everycharacter had different coloured eyes, so they made the subs the same colour as the eyes of the speaker.

I usually prefer fansubs actually, I love how fansubbers can put so much creativity in their subs :lol:

Fansubbing is usually a lot more thoughtful and thorough than the official dubs

(Again with the Fruits Basket) Fruits Basket was dubbed by Funimation, who I know a lot of us don&#39;t prefer. I think the dub was great, but the guy doing the subtitles was pretty lazy. Some fansubs have culture notes, explaining stuff like "itadakimasu" or Holidays like Golden Week or White Day, but Funimation gave us none of that, and White Day is the basis of one of the episodes of Fruits Basket.

Also, it is just common courtesy to translate signs and other text (especially those dang kanji) but Funimation didn&#39;t even translate signs.

So in short, it was bad subtitling, but I still liked the dub =P

I like how much effort fansubbers put into their work ^_^
they must be good people I would say ^^

after thinking about it again, I&#39;d vote "aqua".. kind of a light blue that&#39;s not so bright, blinding your eyes >_< such a comfortable color ^^

in bottle fairy when someone with yellow eyes has yellow subtitles and someone with green eyes has green subtitles (it&#39;s a good idea)

I was watching an anime and it had a really gross yellow for the subtitles and it was really bad looking (cream colour subtitles is nice)

yes full moon&#39;s subs i think were the best. when meroko changed into ppl it even changed the sub color to the person and boarded the text with pink (meroko&#39;s color)
