Okay, I'm planning to buy DDR extreme for Ps2, but i dont know which is better, English or Japanese.

I've heard that for Japanese version you need your Ps2 to be modded.

Please state the advantages and disadvantages of each and compare so i can get a good idea of which one is better ^^.

You know, I honestly think the only difference is what the menu will show and what language the announcer will speak. I don't the song's will change in any way. Also it would be easier just to buy the American version so you don't need to mod. your ps2. Much cheaper too.

hmm sorry to revive this, but

In the japanese version, I've heard that there are more japanese songs, and the game is much harder than the american version. Does it make it worthwhile to get a mod?

I don't know, check what the costs of modding are and if you are planning on getting more Japanese import games (or burnt games). Then decide for yourself if it's worth the extra money, effort and risk (modding can go wrong and then you don't have a PS2 at all).

A slide card (possible to make your own quite easily) with an arv2 or gameshrkv2 will allow imports to boot cheaply or you can buy thw swap magic discs with a slide card or theres an exploit that can be loaded onto a mem card that can be used. 3 cheap options that require no opening up & soldering

i like to go with the exploit on the memory card first.
