I dunno about MIDI files, but if it can't take in WAV files, there's a program called CDex that converts WAV->MP3 at the click of a button. :) And it's free, too, I believe. Besides, WAV is much better than MP3, so it wouldn't be very space-efficient....

The problem with midis is that they're just a bunch of information put together and not actually sounds. So,you can't turn not sounds into sounds without certain stuff that computers have. The only way to do it is to play the midi through your speakers and record it as something else while it plays. It's a huge pain. Not really worth the time it takes.

You can always use the MIDI with Finale 2004(+) and hope that it's a decent-quality one, because then you cansave it as a .wav (and then into an MP3).

There's a trial version whose two-week liscence doesn't work, so you can keep it as long as you want called MID Converter 3.2. It can turn your midis into mp3s.

What I do is I play/record the midi in "Creative Player," which came with my computer. It turns it into a WAV. Then I burn the WAVs onto a CD, and then copy those onto my computer in MP3 format. It's kind of inefficient. I would recomend obtaining a program illegaly if it weren't illegal.

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&saf...ter&btnG=Search (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&safe=off&q=ogg+to+mp3+converter&btnG=Search)

Try searching through the results until you find a free one that works.

JF7X, may I suggest to you the button conveniently marked "quote" in the upper right hand corner of each person's post? When you hightlight a person's info to the left of their post (i.e. avatar, group, member number, joined date, etc;), people aren't going to usually know who you are talking about. Save yourself (and others) the trouble and just left click on that quote button.

As for your question, yes, you can. I'm not sure exactly how, but I'm sure a quick google search will be a help to you.

Converting an MP3 to a MIDI is roughly equivalent to actually transcribing the music, and as far as I know, this is still a research topic in computer science. There are some programs that are supposed to be able to do this, but I've not tried them, and besides I heard the results aren't very good......

The MP3 to Midi programs aren't very good. If you have a good ear, I would say just to transcribe it yourself. As for Midi to MP3.. I just use my Sibelius 3, It converts any kind of sheet music on there to MP3. But... most people are kinda poor, like I was earlier this year until I finally got a job. Sorry if this doesn't help.

Sorry to waste bandwidth if someone already anwered your question. Anyway... It takes in MIDI files(My iPod mini does, anyway) but I'm not sure about WMA or WAV. You should check the instructions that came with your MP3 player, or something along those lines. :sweatdrop:

I love you so much. I didn't think that WAV files could be converted; I have a program that allows you to record stuff onto the computer, like tapes, and save them. Then you can burn it to CD. Which is good for recording my Quartet's music without paying a studio. However, I want to upload the WAV files onto our website, and the hoster I use doesn't take WAV files. (Sorry, I use smiley faces waaay too much)
