I been trying to figure out this anime's name but to no avail... It is placed on a different planet where the gov't is ruled by kingdoms; there is a young boy, one of country, who walks into the kingdom and finds himself in the center of a battle between two kingdoms. He enters the royal chamber and finds a silver metallic Mecha fighting an enemy mecha. The silver mecha falls and the operator is ejected. The back hatch opens to reveal an analog control system he gets in and the back closes and what his movements are is that of the robot's. This robot transforms into a dragon without an operator and he flyes away.

I beleve this anime is called escaflone but I am not sure... Could somebody help me!

I didnt like Escaflowne that much....Van was kool in a way but the storyline wasn't appealing to me.

confusing! I didn't quite get the ending of it, but it wasn't too bad...

I liked it. But that's just me. I haven't seen the whole thing, just the first couple of episodes and the movie, but I think it's a great anime. Besides. Van is cool. ^_^ Even if Hitomi is something of a wimp... -_-

It was an ok anime. The music was pretty decent though. We should start a "guess that anime" thread.

The only thing that I dont like about the anime... is that it was totally different from the manga and the movie. In the movie it's like the story starts all over... and Hitomi is all depressed and wants everyone to disappear... In the manga I think Hitomi has long hair and glasses..(not sure, i'll have to check up on that..)

I thought it was an OK anime and I enjoyed the music.

Escaflowne was a lot of fun to watch. Probably one of the best animes that I ever got on TV in dub form. I watched about half of the english and I saw the DVD box set at Future Shop and I want to buy it (after I get a job)

Esca is like my all time fav anime. and btw there is this really good place 2 download anime at imseh. it's like Kazza but alot better and more anime.
