Kos mos has a pretty good sound to it.
You could elaborate a bit more and on the bottom hand of the piano, but still its a nice little song.
Chrost is good too try using more chords. :)

how long does it take for you to make your songs?

kos_mos:
Not a bad piece. I'd change your left hand part though. It's the same thing over and over again, and so it gets hard figuring out something new for the right hand with each repetition. That in itself leads to problems with phrasing and flow.

chrost:
I liked this one more. The beginning had a nice rhythm. The triplets, although a bit repetitive at times, connected the whole piece together.

here is a song i been working on

title:
Too much doubling of the notes between the right and left hand leads to empty harmony . . I liked the 'sliding down' effect you did near the beginning. Your ending had some interesting dissonant harmony, but it ended too abruptly.

the weeping willow:
I liked this one more . . you can feel the 'weight' of the weeping willow with the percussion you used. Mood is great. Oh, more neat 'sliding down' effects (would they represent the tears?), I wonder how you pull that off . . once again, I think your ending is abrupt. Let us know it's coming!

This old one needs a bit of work on the melodic phrasing, which will give the piece more structure. I like that section with the duet between the right/left hands. Hmm, interesting modulation you used there . . but by this time, the piece appears to drag, because it's basically a repeat of earlier material . . what? No! You stopped the song just as you added in some new stuff! Continue please!

KOS MOS Battle Song:
Brilliant!!! Such a wonderful and interesting harmony and a fine melody. The only bad thing: It is definately no battle song!!

Gray Moon Vs. 3:
The same technique, but this one gets boring after a while. The harmony isn't that wonderful, and the melody is too unmelodic.

The Weeping Willow:
This Tomtom-synthi is awful!!!! The rest is really good, especially with the choir. A lot of heavy, solemn, pesante feel. Again, the melody is unconventional, but very good. The glissandos are cool!! Reminds me of Uematsu's dungeon themes.

Title:
Like a better version of Gray Moon. Interesting instrumentation, the ostinato piano isn't that great. Are these dissonances on purpouse or are they mistakes, because they don't seem to fit that good.

Chrost:
Reminds me of Phil Glass :P ! Again, a really good ostinato with a nice melody.

KOS MOS:
The Imperial March ;) ! The ostinato is getting boring after a while, and the melody can't save that. Not that good.

You have a gift with harmony. Title, Chrost and The Weeping Willow are great, KOS MOS Battle Song is fantastic. Keep up the good work!!!

Here is my new song Dreamland.

Dreamland

The harp arpeggios are a treat for the ears, and the high percussive instrument which chimes in after a few measures is really a nice ornament. The strings seem a bit clumsy at first, but just after the first few measures after they came in, I soon realized their part was much more organized that phrased than I first had thought. However, I strongly advise you to consider replacing them with either the synth strings or string ensemble2 from the midi bank, if possible. It would really make them more emotive. The ending seemed very abrupt and staccato, which displeased me. It sounded as if it wasn't worked at all into the final few phrases to complete and complement them. Perhaps this part could be improved with a deceptive or perfect cadence instead, or maybe just a fade out. You could also try an unresolved Isus2 or Isus4 chord to add a sense of mystery to the end. I adore the name you've chosen, and it fits this wonderful piece well. However, please consider adjusting the ending just slightly. :)

Keep on composing! :)

i fixed the ending to dreamland :)

Aww, sounds like a sad dreamland =( . . but a nice song nevertheless ^^ . . the accompaniment is well done, and I did like how it faded out at the end by making it sound harmonically incompleted, but maybe you could slow it down a bit? Maybe even hold the last note a bit longer?

I loved Dreamland and The Weeping Willow! Generally, your left hand is quite repetitive, but - with these two - the repition sounds great; like a trance.

With Kos Mos and Kos Mos Battle song, I found the repetitiveness wore out after a while. But both these tunes have intriguing harmonies on top of the repetition. (I wonder if varying the intensity would work for Kos Mos...)

I quite liked Title and Grey Moon, too.

1 started a bit boring but got better and better and...

...stopped. (You did say it wasn't finished... ;) )

And I'd like to repeat Al's question: How do you pull off the slide effects in Weeping Willow? My midi-sequencer lets me do them, but I don't understand the parameters.

1: Sounds . . funky, haha. Although the harmony was repetitive, I'm glad at least your melody wasn't. But yeah, finish it! You can do so much more with it =)

Klonoa

Although you tend to repeat the bottom parts these songs do have nice melodies to them which make them nice pieces. keep posting.

The Slide effects are probably done with finale. you just use the glissando tool from note to note and finale will slide it down.

"1.MID" was kind of interesting, though you probably should've kept the "Cello" (it's actually the lead+bass patch... :?) bassline going on for the remainder of the piece, though with a bit more variety.

so what did you think?

Dawnstorm

Actually, it's quite a pleasant tune to have running in the background. :)

(Btw, the track info says "Orchestral Harp", but the instrument is set to "grand piano". I have to say it sounds better when I set the instrument to "harp" on my midi-player.)
