Well, it was good. I wish it was a little longer. I enjoyed your harmony and the melody in the beginning was great. Towards the end it wasn't as strong.

Melody Box

Very peaceful song. :) The continuo part in the lower register of the music box keeps the melody intact very well. The melody is very nice and simple, just the way I like it. Although it was short and sweet, there'd be nothing wrong with elongating the piece into a more moving piece overall. Keep it up and show us some more of your unique sound as you see fit. :) Refreshing to the ears.

A very nice song, indeed! :D Nice chords plus a happy tune plus the music box sound/tone equals a nice song, although short. (But then again, they're supposed to be short if it's going to be in a music box!)

ornaments ?
If it´s the foint you´re thinking of, I used a sf2 file called, just as the song, musicbox.
I´m glad you all liked it =)

what the heck...this sounds a bit like my brother's composition only better because you actually know what you are doing.

Wait, I think it's just the chord pattern though. It's the chord pattern of sleepless beauty from gravitation right?

I like the idea of using the music box. It fits in well. Good job for a first composition though! I'd like to hear more soon! Keep up the good work!

Ornaments, as in trills and mordents?

As for the short length, this piece can easily be looped, which is great for a real music box. Nice job, short but effective.

It's alright, but kinda has a generic feel to it, in comparison with most of the other piano pieces on this board. The strings felt kind of gimmicky too, since they were only used in the final seconds of the piece. Try to make the left-hand more interesting and use more varied progessions to keep the piece fresh.

The generic feel comes from the fact that the piece sounds the same throughout, as in, it's a monotomous. Perhaps it can benefit from better phrasing and more variety (like some pauses or whatever). Still, it's not too bad.

I think he's saying that you're good enough to compose for Final Fantasy which is a big compliment. He's saying you're good mate.

I loved both of them. They were both simple and sweet and beautiful, and I love simple and sweet stuff. ^_^

You could make the LH in the beginning of "Love Seasons" more interesting, though, by varying the progression. Where did those strings come from, btw? o_O If you're gonna have strings at all, you should try to utilize them all throughout, or at least through the majority of the piece, anyway, and not have them suddenly pop up in the last few measures. A good trick, I think, is to imagine it's being performed and to think about whoever might be playing the strings. They certainly wouldn't wanna sit there through an entire five minute piece just to play for only ten seconds. :heh:

But, they were both beautiful. Great job. :D

Thanks.
I will remember that with the string, I never thought of it from that perspectiv.
Once again thanks!

for love seasons i love the main part i think u're little upward run is a little awkward and about half way the key change (if i'm not mistaken) it is a little too big of a difference in the keys

i love ur ending verses though this shows some serious talent

if u plan o taking this song to the next stage (i.e. printing) u should have either vocals of an instrumental accompaniment :)

I'm closing this thread because of:

1) Pathetic composer who seeks for attention
2) Account duplication

For those who are unsure of what I mean, Miyamoto and Blombrink are the same person. You see, Blombrink needed a bump to his topic, so he made up a new account so that he could act as if he was another person replying with the post above (Miyamoto).

Note to all composers: If your compositions don't get enough recognition, it's probably because your pieces aren't good enough, zhzhzhzhzhzh..
