A friend just sent me some screen shots of what is supposed to be a remake of the FF7 into sequence using the ps3.

^.^ I like the graphics, hope the in-game play is just like KillZone 2. I also hope it's the same story line, features, battles and all...

Squeenix already confirmed that this is not a game I think, but merely a demo. They also stated they have no plans to turn this into a game.

I was about to say that. For the PS2 they also had a FF8 demo and that game was never released on that system. Using FF7 for a techdemo would be an obvious choice since they wouldn't have to do that much for it. They had the background models from FF7 (although in FF7 they were pre-rendered and in this demo they are rendered in realtime) and they used the models from FF: AC. The only thing they had to do was some programming to put the whole thing together.

But there is no remake. Squeenix aren't redoing FFVII. It is simply a demonstration of the PS3's abilities.

See? It's working already. The effort they spent on the demo is well worth it, considering the number people they've hyped up to buy the PS3 on launch.

what was so great about it? it was just another CG, only better... and there's no point crying about it - 10 seconds later he said "this is merely a demo. We have no plans to blah blah blah"

Honestly, if you wait until just before the launch of the next product before buying something, you get it cheap, and you get games for cheap too. I find it's the best deal; I just bought a PS2 a few months ago, earlier than I usually would, but it really didn't cost that much. And I can get games for under 20$, which is fairly pricey, but considering the $50 price tag normally... not too bad. Plus, I already know which games are good. Of course, I wouldn't say no if someone bought it for me... :shifty:

I do have to say that, while the graphics are pretty, I'm glad they're not actually remaking the game. If they were to choose something to remake, I'd have to ask them to do one of the SNES Final Fantasy Games; FF VII is not nearly as good as the earlier ones, and FF VII is already in 3-D. FF VII has way too much hype anyway. =_=

But is has been said that there would be a Fina Fantasy Game , when the PS3 comes out. That has been confirmed, I think -_- I hope it is Final Fantasy XIII than FFVII
They should concentrate on getting FFVII: Advent Children ready, before doing other projects.

I hope that Advent Children won´t be a total FLOP @_@

It wont, the trailers were amasing already, and the story..............I dont know, but it seems more real, not just the graphics, but the life.

Ok, for those who think that it was going to be a little like killzone, then you are screwed up in the head! i mean, this is final fantasy VII we are talking about! the gameplay will be like - you guessed it - the final fantasy series. plus i think killzone sucks...

ummm a reamke for ffvii for hte ps3 may still be coming. Idk y you guys dismissed the video so fast but nothing has been said about this video being just a demosntration of ps3's power. Sure it could be just a simple publicity program ot get you to buy the ps3 but it could be possible....

i'd buy it anyway, with or without FF7. but it would be an added bonus
