I started on this a couple of days ago and I was wondering if I could get some critique on it, I'm a bit stuck ( I shoved an intro on it, but it is now lacking part of the middle and the ending... ^^; )

o wow that's catchy ::dances along:: I like it 8/10
just a little tip: you shouldn't post the sheet music to one of your peices...I don't know why but that's what everyone else says when someone posts their sheet music :D. Very nice though, I like ^_^

Yeh, the melody starts of pretty nicely. Try to keep it flowing continuely smooth, however, as it starts to sound kind of bogged down when the second phrase starts and there are less 16th notes playing in it. Maybe you were trying to give the piano some more melodic parts, but I'd suggest you to finish developing it on the flute first before going down that path. Also, I notice you have some really bassy chords playing at times, which give it a slight, but still off-setting dissonance with the rest of the piece, especially mood-wise; try to bring up the chords some more, or just keep it really simple with octaves and/or fifths/fourths, which work pretty well with oriential-sounding music. But it's off to a nice start - just try to keep these things in mind as you continue working on the piece ;).

Because a lot of people won't be able to listen to the music (or even look at the sheet music). You need... I don't know what you need to listen to *.MUS files, Finale?
*.mid and *.mp3 files are popular, because almost every computer in the world (well, those with a sound card, anyway) can open them.
[no comment on your piece, because I can't listen to it. :( ]

Sheet music shouldn't be posted, because some people steal the score =T
And yes, midi would be nice ^^

I can't post my songs as .mid because I only have Finale Notepad and it doesn't let me do that... ^^; Any way I could get around this?

I like it, sounds a bit like an Irish Jig with a Japanese melody intrusion... (I think)

rfree, did you boost the piano? Because I feel it's a a bit (just a bit) too foregrounded in your version - too heavy beat or something (and I wonder wether I'm imagining things). I like your addition; interesting melody variations.
And thanks for the midi.

Thanks for the feedback and the midi version ^^ Is there any free way I can convert my .mus files to .mp3 or .mid?

No, not unless you download finale but... Id be happy to convert any .mus filesthat i see to midi or mp3 for you. it doesnt take but 2 seconds plus I like your music. ;) heres the mp3 to see how it sounds. I had to higher the volume of the flute you couldnt hear it cause it went so low in pitch , wasnt sure how much though.

The drone parts in the background are a very intriguing addition to this dance-like short piece. I like the various little flourishes in the flute part. They're just enough to keep the ear on its toes, so to speak. (That came out funny! :heh:) It has a sort of oriental feel to it, just as the title suggests. I like the strange piano arpeggiations. However, the last note in the flute part before it cuts of... I'm not sure it should've been placed there, unless this song was meant to be looped. I think it would've been better ending on the A rather than adding the E at the very end. Good atmosphere, and quite the unique style in whole. Good job. :) I like it.

@Gnomish: Thankyou very much for your nice comments ^^; That piece isn't actually finished yet, I'm only about halfway through it. Hopefully the finished version will be posted soon~ =D
@rfree: Thanks a lot for converting my pieces and making them sound better~ ^_^ I'd like to take you up on that offer to convert my other songs, I looked for ages for a .mus to .mid converter and the Finale 2005 demo doesn't let me save, soo... please? =D;
@Dawnstorm: Thankyou ^^ The Irish bit wasn't intentional, but I see it too now I listen to it... >>;

I'm listening to the original midi version =P And it's nice so far, but you're stuck? Hmm . . that's why you need to plan out in advance what you want from this piece. What goal have you set for yourself? What harmony/chords are you anticipating? What direction and form do you want? That'll help give you the framework for composing.

-scurries back off to work on it >>;-
I sort of just... go where it takes me.

Drmario: Quite a drive, that one. Very dancable. I liked the way the music constantly stopped short. I like it a lot.
Loop: Quite minimalist. Sounds more like an improvisation than a composition to me; sounds nice, and it isn't too long, so the lack of accompaniment doesn't grate. Why it's called loop, I don't know; because one thing I wouldn't do with it, is loop it. But it does evoke an image of a lone flute player somewhere; on a green hill, or perhaps even on a sand dune?
I like your stuff, keep it coming! :D

Docter mario is from a game, but I think it was her arrangement. I dont know about loop. She asked me to convert it for her website.

It was excellent! I would, however like to see alittle more harmony between the piano and flutes.
