Samurai champloo! I absolutely love this anime!! It's so sad that it's only 24 eps long :( Wish there were more!

How about you? Do you like this show?

It's okay. The whole Rap/hip-hop-in-pre-Meiji-era-Japan thing could get old pretty fast if the writing doesn't stay up to par; but, for now at least, it's worth watching.

Oh yeah...and Fu's pretty cute too! (Even if she *is* a bit of a klutz...) :flower:

Woah, I thought the ending was great. I found it very satisfying and I LOVE the final ep ending song.

Champloo was a very good anime. I rarely find anything worth watching these days, but this kept me entertained the whole way through. And Jin is a bad-ass, I love him.

...What's wrong with the ending? A nice way to wrap up, I thought.

Show spoiler (javascript:void(0);) My favourite episode was when Mugen, Jin, and Fuu played baseball against the Americans. The American voices were so bad it was funny, and everyone was getting knocked out of the game because of Mugen's death pitches. XD

Yes, Samurai Champloo is awesome. The first time me and Shadow-chan watched it, we instantly identified ourselves with Mugen and Jin (guess who's who)

Awesome anime with good ol' samurai action. I'm glad it's only 24 episodes, because that means it's a series I can finish right away. I hate it when series are over even 50+ episodes…

The music is extremely unique and I'm rather impressed with the whole concept. I admit I was pretty surprised and blown away when I first watched it, and I'm so happy CN is showing it now.

It is pritty cool but I still say Kenshim is better! "Hitten Mitsurugi ryu: Ryu Sui sen"

See ya later

Whee, a hip-hop feudal period, that's what it's all about! YEAH! notice Mugen's breakdance-style fighting XD

I love the music, it totally rocks. Must...get....next...dvd....

oh, and the voices for both english and japaneses were really good. even though i prefer Japanese in most anime, these english VA were good choices! David Lucas was Mugen! (he does Spike from Cowboy Bebop and Onizuka in GTO ;))

Really? I liked it a lot, but thought the macro-story was getting stretched a bit thin.

Yes, I think most Samurai Champloo fans wouldn't complain if the Watanabe decided to make another season... seriously...

oh yea, same here. i wouldn't be sad at all if he made another season of champloo.but man the style of the show and the fights were awesome.i especially like the mixed breakdancing-sword play style that mugen has.it's a whole new technique that could maybe be used in real life.and even though i dont know the right term it should be, i call it Broken Sword Dance or Breakdance of the sword.

Sorry, but I have to say PUH-LEEZE! It's not that great, and I have to agree with whoever said this...

It is pritty cool but I still say Kenshim is better!

*ahem* which by the way he spelled "Kenshin" wrong, but still. Ruroni's definitely better.

I actually liked how short it was. If he made another season it'd probably start to get a bit repetitive (sp..>.<). It was short, sweet, and to the point. All in all a good anime.

Does episode 14 tug on anyone else's heartstrings? It's the one where Mugen "dies". The song that plays in the background is so beautiful. The scenes are also beautiful. That's my favorite episode :D

Well if its only 24 epi's then the whole rap/hip-hop-in-pre-Meiji-era-Japan thing shouldn't get old.

My personal thoughts are that its Great!!! Why you ask, its got action, violence, language, and its funny!!!!

I'm really enjoying it! I love the theme, it was a brilliant idea to mix modern culture and put it in the past. Lol Anyway I'm a Watanabe fan. I really like Champloo's soundtrack too. I like the characters a lot - even though there's something not quite right about them I can't put my finger on. I don't want to say they're two dimentional (because they're not) it's just something about their attitudes that comes off as unrealistic sometimes.

Anyway, in view of the anime's shortness; Inu and I are hoping that the manga goes more indepth.

Just finished this one yesterday. I thought the plot wasn't that unique compare to some animes that I have seen. However, this anime managed to pull it off with few slice of life and history as well as good laughing moments so in the end it was a great one. The only thing I was quite unsatisfy was at the end... didn't want it to end that way. Also the girl, Fuu, I thought that she would end up with Mugen since throughout the episodes her feelings were leaning toward him.

I know that some will say that there is no love relation within the three (Jin, Mugen and Fuu) or even if there is, it wasn't significant enough. But some how I felt like there was and I'm pretty sure of it, that's why the end was a slammer for me.

Yeah agreed, the ending was a bit too contrived. I mean generally if you get blown up by dynamite and stabbed through the abdomen, it is hard to walk away untouched after a few days of lying down. And Fuu did have feelings for Mugen... but then it would not make sense for them to be together at the end. I mean imagine Mugen actually getting into a relationship. You can't be serious. Though it's interesting how the left the plot open...there's a girl out there who wants to marry Mugen...

But still, that ending grated.
