I will post a few of my own compositions here. This first one is a "witch's dance" from my Ballet, Folie Enigmatique! I really would like advice on how to make my pieces better. I am an amateur composer, and I don't use that term lightly!! :P

I forgot to mention my name is Brendan Wynn! haha. I live in Virginia, United States, and I have just started taking lessons under Dr. Kasparov at Governor's School for the arts GSARTS (http://www.gsarts.net). here next is a movement of a flute concerto. yes, I kind of ignore form and what have you and only have a general idea of structure!

I really liked "Witch's Dance". I captured the feeling of, well, a witch quite well. My only complaint though, is that the first couple of pages or so were a bit repetitive. Maybe if you took out the repeats there?

oh dear! I did attach the .mus didn't I!?

as per the "repetitiveness" I do notice it - it's just that for it's practicality in the ballet I started, it has to be that way!

here's the midi!

no.1:
So classical, I like it. Everything is nicely balanced and clear. Be careful though not to let the orchestra midi drown out the flute midi. The flute is the soloist after all!

witchdance:
I think it's a perfectly suitable title. It suits the character of the piece wonderfully. I must say that I quite enjoy your works, you know what you're doing. Then again, you did get accepted into the art school after all!

I liked Witchdance very much. ^_^

It sounds very mischievious, like Tchaikovsky's "Dance of the Sugraplum Faeries." By the middle, the music didn't really interest me, once that violin or cello (I can't really tell the difference) entered.
