I love this game, its so great. Beautiful graphics, lots of improvements to the storyline, upgrades for the character, and the best part is its really requires skill. You HAVE to learn to be good at this game, it actually helps to make you think faster. After beating this game, I have noticed my efficiency in many other video games has improved dramatically, along with my martial arts practice!!!

So....what do you guys love about this game? Hate? I really hated level 15 with all the fish, and also level 13 which was really long.

I played the first few levels, which took an obscene amount of time. This is the hardest game I've ever played. Eventually I got frusterated realized there are better things I should be wasting my time on.

It *was* a really fun game though... but it really needs to be slightly easier

Should be easier? I think the whole point of the game is for the user to develop his/her own strategy and become quick. That's what makes this game so fun, it forces the user to improve. I thought it was perfect. This is one of the games that makes you work in order to make the gameplay fun, rather kill the enemies and move on for the story game. You have to learn how to deal with the enemies, and apply it to new enemies.

I bet if you played the first level up to where you could be it in under 1/2 hour, you'd find the rest of the game actually fun, and see what I mean. You give me the impression you like games perhaps like Soul Reavor, Shooters, and other games. Games that have multiple enemies, but are easy to kill and allows you to learn with minimal effort.

If this is the case, then perhaps you really do have reason to dislike this game. However, keep in mind, that victory tastes best when you earn it.

uhm... actually I like a wide variety of games. and I just said I DID like NG. What I don't like is spending hours upon hours studying the particular pattern of some boss (I did more than enough of that on the NES). I like games that challenge me, not frusterate me. I'd much rather have an objective to accomplish, and infinite open-ended ways of accomplishing that objective. Not beating my head against a wall trying to perfect the timing on some impossible boss.

Great game, great graphics, great story, great gameplay, the list goes on and on...
Possibly the best game I've ever played in my life!
I don't really have this game, but my friend does. I come his house every weekend just to play it. And I eagerly wait for him to finish it so he can lend it to me :shifty: .
However, I agree with Gand. The difficulty is way too high. I mean, beginners will go crazy trying to beat the first boss (I did). It took me and my friend exactly 17 tries (kept count) to beat him. However, it does get much better as you go along. Like Nightmare says, this game can't be beaten by button mashing. Skill is needed here. Myself, I don't have much skill (5th chapter -_- ). It's also what makes this game great! :D

Lol, trying it in very hard after not playing for 3 days is........very hard. I'm stuck on level 2 with the horseman. They always kill me. So annoying.

The fish are the best. 5,000 orbs in 30 seconds.

Reverse wind.... sidestep left.... slash sword (3x)... Jump right... Shoot arrow... Kill minion... Repeat.

Hard but an easy pattern

I think you are all talking about a different ninja gaiden...

In Ninja Gaiden I can gt to the 6th level, but once I get there I can't even beat the first part. My favourite weapon is the regular throwing star, because it's useful, and uses the least amount of ninja skill points. I alos like the fire ring, because it's basically invincibility.

Actually, as soon as you said beautiful graphics, I knew you were talking about a different ninja gaiden, since mine came out before I was born

Ha! You must be talking about the nintendo verson! That was a great game (I spent countless hours playing this game, it was the first ninja game ever created)! But we're talking about the ninja gaiden for X-box or PC (for those whom break the law).

I love Ninja Gaiden! But I really don't like the difficulty sometimes! I think that a really hard difficulty on really good games can ruin the game. Like Ryu's weapons are good, but there isn't really one weapon that does the trick. Not only that, but 1 weapon is only effective for a good 2 or 3 chapters. Then it's ok. Then it's just crap. An example is the speargun, war hammer, and nunchakus. Does anyone agree that difficulty ruined this game a little bit?

Yeah, I sorta do. This game, you don't have time to lug a big war hammer around. Far too slow, and this game is based on speed. Winning like that is about impossible and not fun. The spear gun is BARELY used in the game, and I never really used it. And nunchukas suck compared to vigorian flail, and they shouldn't be used either. However, what you should do is take one weapon and upgarde it for the whole game. I always had fun with my Dragon Sword, its worth it.

However, I like the difficulty. Once you "master" that difficulty, the game is fun. It helps tremendously with other games. Try picking up Zelda, Devil May Cry, or some other hack and slash game. They will seriously look slow in gameplay if you can beat Ninja Gaiden on very diffuclt. Its fun, so why not? It really is enjoyable if you can handle it. Its not one of those simple games, where you simply walk around and kill idoit monsters who stand still and wait while you kill of their buddies.

This game demands full attention, and you really do improve your own abilities, not just the characters. The more you play, the more fun and better you get.
