This is my second little summer project. I am going to transcribe some songs from various "FINAL FANTASY" titles. Most will be for piano, but If I find the motivation to transcribe for something else, I will do that. If I'm lucky, these will get permanently posted on Ichigos, but I haven't received a reply from Gand yet...

Any entry with {PP} Next to it is based entirely off of the Official "FINAL FANTASY: Piano Collections" version. Any entry without it will be simply be transcribed by me and my ears (Since i recently discovered that I have Absolute/Perfect Pitch, this should not be a problem).

COMPLETED TRANSCRIPTIONS

FFVI ~ KEFKA (Cefca in Japan) {PP}
FFVIII ~ AMI {PP}
FFIX ~ ETERNAL HARVEST {PP}

UPCOMING TRANSCIPTIONS

FFI ~ TOWN THEME
FFI ~ BATTLE THEME
FFVI ~ CELES {PP}
FFVIII ~ DANCE WITH THE BALAMB-FISH
FFVIII ~ FISHERMAN'S HORIZON {PP}
FFVIII ~ FRAGMENTS OF MEMORIES (For Full String Quartet)
FFX ~ AWAY TO ZANARKAND

Ack! you apparently can only post five attachments per post, even if you still have space... :bleh: Oh well, here's the rest.

My humble apologies for the triple post, but I really have no choice.

Anyway, for those who don't use Finale and still want a copy, here is a PDF file.

Thank you for your praises! And to think that that only took me two hours!

I always seem to write/transcribe with performance notes and try to use as much expression as possible, so you can expect that in the Final score of my "KONDO KRONICLES" project, if you're wondering.

Since you like my Transcription of "AMI", I think it might be safe to post my "Kefka" transcription from FFVI that i made this morning. It's based off another one of those Piano MIDIs I find in random places. I liked the MIDI very much except for the ending (it was one of those fadeaway endings), so I made a more appropriate stage ending. I hope you like it!

MIDI and MUS will be posted here now, but once again, I have to wait until tomorrow to scan (my parents are sleeping! shh...) the sheets to PDF form.

Anyway, the MIDI...

Before I give the MUS, I wanna ask you something... Do you think I should contribute these to Ichigos? I've been considering it for these pieces as well as my finished "KONDO KRONICLES" book. Do you think Gand will let me?

Either way, here's the MUS...

I know this is gonna sound kinda stupid but... what exactly does it mean to "transcribe" something? I think it's kinda like arranging just not changing anything or.....

Basically, a transcription is an arrangement of a song for an instrument that it wasn't originally made for, So transcribing would be like taking a song for a string quartet and making a piano reduction based on it.

Arrangements are different; that's where you take the basic melody of a song and create a new accompaniment for it. An example would be my current baby, "KONDO KRONICLES".

Ok so I was close, sorta. Well your transcriptions sound great! Thx for helping!

I am very truthfully sorry, but I cannot post the KEFKA PDF file today...

My reason for this inconvenience is a little embarrassing, but it's because I don't know how to use my Dad's new scanner. I asked him to scan AMI to PDF because of this.

I actually had the chance to give it out today, but I completely forgot about it... :cry: I will definitely have it done tomorrow, and I'll ask my dad to write down how to create PDFs so this problem won't present itself in the future.

My apologies for the delay, but I have the KEFKA PDF now! ^^
Also, this problem will never present itself again, because I know how to use the scanner now!

These arrangments are simply amazing. Your skills in Finale match your musical skills.

Your avatar is cool too :>

WHOO! Compliment from one of my Ichigo Idols!

That makes me really happy, Noir7. Also, Do you think that these would get posted by Gand if I submit them?

My next Final Fantasy transcription will be "ETERNAL HARVEST" from FFIX. I know that it's already on the site, but there are a lot of inaccuracies on it that upset me and probably others as well, thus inspiring the creation of a hopefully improved transcription. I've also noticed that "FISHERMAN"S HORIZON" from FFVIII has suffered from the same problem, so it might be next.

I will have "ETERNAL HARVEST" done by tomorrow, so come back... please. :ph34r:

I'm sure he would, and please go on with Eternal Harvest. I noticed some inaccuraties on our current one aswell.

Wow, I feel stupid! :lol: I just realized that I can post files with everything needed inside!

Anyway, I have completed the transcription to "ETERNAL HARVEST". I thought it would look really messy with all the slurs I put in, but it actually looks really nice. I also show off my mad repeating skilzz for the first time! XD

Sadly, the MIDI isn't that great. For some unexplainable reason, Finale can't comprehend a simple Dal Segno or Coda , so I had to Import it into Noteworthy composer and do some really quick, half-fished changes so that, even though the MIDI is terrible, it plays the way the music is supposed to.

Anyway, enough of my mindless banter and on with the file!

The PDF, MUS, and MIDI are all in the folder.

That was a nice transcription. No flaws that I could find anyways, and I love how your PDF files look like. So professional :)

OK. I'm taking a break!

I will be back transcribing Final fantasy stuff later, but I feel that I have been neglecting my first project, so I'll be going back to it for a while.

It's in "Mario AND Zelda Arrangements" on this forum if you're wondering.

After the board move, all attachments were eliminated! As a result, I will post PDFs and MIDIs of each transcription on the first post, and as the list growes, I'll put them on posts after that.

I decided not to post MUSs anymore because One of my friends had the exact copy, but the credits were changed to "Transcribed by [His Name]". :realmad: He immediately threw it away and printed the PDF once I found out, so I might forgive him...

YAY! Gand has replied to me asking to look at my transcriptions, so they might get permanently posted! :D

I would also like to note that I will do my first non-piano transcription very soon. It's titled "Fragments of Memories" from FFVIII, and it was arranged by the genius that is Shiro Hamaguchi for a full string quartet, on the "Fithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec" Orchestrated Album. As I am very weak, but learning, at the violin, I doubt I will add performance notes. If I barely know any techniques for violin, what makes you think I'd be any better at Viola or Cello?

Ok... The Idea of doing Liberi Fatali popped into my head when I was in the shower. I'm thinking that it will be for a piano duet and a SATB Choir, but that will obviously take a long time, so my work on the other transcriptions will be temporarily discontinued until I finish this one. When I get back in school I will try to get this performed and recorded by my choir, but that will take a lot of persuasion by my director; she's not too big on video game music.

Please post your comments on the idea!
