Sometimes you want to share something, but it seems to bothersome to create a new topic since its not really that big. So, any interesting news you find (no rumors) go here. For example, radical decision made by someone, new EA shopping spree, the works... In some cases, it will be acceptable to post "OMG #### is coming out" - only if it's really unexpected (e.g. Capcom dumps Haunting Groun and starts working on Clock Tower 4). Also, any nice editiorials you find go here ^_^

Capcom Financial Report:
Yay! For the first time in years, Capcom managed to make a profit. Revenue reached $614 million (25% higher than last years figure), with 33.5 million profit (against last year's losses of $67.74 million).

Nintendo Financial Report (4.01.2004 - 3.31.2005):
Revenue: $4.77 billion*
Profit: increased from last year's $307 to $809 million**
* mostly due to the successful start of the new portable console, Nintendo DS (as of March 31st - 5.27 million sold all over the world, with 10.7 million Software sold for it).
** Profit from GBA Hardware fell by 12.4%; from Gamecube - by 21%; However, the amount of Software sold increased by 12.9% and 1.02% respectively (mostly due to Pokemon Fire Red/Leaf Green which sold over 6 million copies, as well as Mario Party 6 and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year door - both sold over 1 million)

In the future, the company plans to earn $4.81 of revenue, with profit somewhere around $694 million (Most of the hopes are being pinned on NDS, which during the period of the new fiscal year should reach 12.4 million of hardware, with 35 million of software worldwide)

Also, information on the sales of some of the most famous franchises was published: Mario games sold over 181.17 million copies, with 121.69 million being on portable consoles; Pokemon, second, has over 100 million copies; next, DK - 46.51 million; and, finally, The Legend of Zelda - "only" 46.33 million;

Square-Enix Financial Report (4.01.2004 - 3.31.2005):
Revenue: $686 million (16.9% higher than last year's figure).
Profit: $139 million against last year's $89.23*
* Mostly due to Kingdom Hears: CoM, which sold 360 thousand in Japan and 640 thousand in the US; FFTA, which managed to sell over 940 thousand; During the year, 11 games were sent to Japan, 7 to America, and 4 to Europe - reaching cumulative sales of 11.67 million copies. Profit from Online Gaming increased by 55% ( revenue - $128 million, profit - $47 million). The mobile market also brought revenue's of $47 million.

! Oh yeah, some analytics claim that MIcrosoft will lose an average of $79 on an Xbox 360 unit. If you didn't know, then Sony lost $150 on every PS2 sold. Nintendo so far remains the only company that never lost money on hardware.
