Yep.. since michael is gone, I'll handle the CMAs from now on.

I was scratching my head, thinking of a theme for this competition, and I listened to some Chopín pieces. He wrote alot of so called "Nocturnes" (~Night music) and I thought maybe we could have this as a theme? It's not required to write a "Nocturne", but a piece that reflects upon the night.

All kinds of instruments are allowed, and there's no strict form to follow.. just the theme of night.

Usually, I end up listening to Jazz while driving alone at night, so of course now Jazz is what I think of when I think of "Night Music" ;). For this piece, the harmony is primary in suggesting of the "Night" theme, while the rhythm is rather upbeat and a bit shuffley - so I guess you could say it's a latin festival at night, or something :P. This one was kind of rushed (it was mostly to test out some samples), but I promise I'll put more effort into the next CMA. I'll also comment on everyone's entry after the results.
