What do you plan to do in the future? [This is not like a dream job thread, but what you really plan to do!]

Im going to go and try to get a scholorship and go to school and become a pharmacist. Ill work for about 10 years, and get a second degree in either character design, sill art painting or clothe design [all three if I can though].

Then im going to try to get a job at Square for background design or character design.

But if not, im going to stay in the USA or go to Europe and get a job there for pharmacy and a part time of designing clothe.

~

Its a long way for me to work to, taking in mind that im not even old enough for a job, but Ill do what ever it takes to make it happen!

I'm trying to get a degree for dentistry. After when I have enough money, I might try either do script writing for a Movie company, maybe even Square (I love to see my movie script in their beautiful CG animation).

The reason why I 'm not doing movie script at the start is because I want a high professinal degree(dentistry) to make my parents happy (me too). Once that is done , I would feel free to do movie script as a hobbie.

Yup, get the degree, then pursue the hobby later - always have a safety net, that's the key. Script writing doesn't pay much and it may take years to establish yourself as a trusted designer. You won't be working for Square any time soon, RD ;)

In September I'll be moving to Liverpool to start my Orthoptics BSc degree at the University of Liverpool - really excited :D It's a 3 year course and I have to do 1000 hours of clinical practice before I graduate - that means I get to travel to hospitals all over the country doing placements! It appeals to the wanderer in me ;)

I WILL!

Also, thats what im doing. My hobbies are designing cloth, drawing ETC, but I want to be a pharmacist too, and it pays 100% better then those other jobs.

My hobbies are designing cloth, drawing ETC, but I want to be a pharmacist too, and it pays 100% better then those other jobs. That is highly dependent upon which sector (industrial, community or hospital) and country you are working as a pharmacist in, and how competent you are as a pharmacist when compared with those other professions.

well, in america, you make 50-120 USD around my area..thats over 10 times min. wage!

Dark Bring
August 2nd, 2005, 08:32 am
Well, do bear in mind that the minimum wage is oft defined for the manual labor which rarely concerns intelligent efforts. This is a crude and not often accurate explanation which means that the more knowledge needed in the field of work, the more you are paid.

RD
August 2nd, 2005, 08:34 am
yeah. My uncle pointed out that the people who hold the slow/stop signs at construction sites get payed about 15 USD an hour. And that was like 10 years ago.

Yet the workers them selvs got payed sallery, which can be very low because min. Wage doesnt affect sallery.

after I graduate, I plan to move back to Manila. I'm so tired of the country life. It's getting boring for me. I feel like i've been staying in the same spot for too long (6 years) and I'm getting restless already.

there's gotta more to life out there and I'm just dying to go out and see the world. =p

I have no real plans for the future, I think I might just take it as it comes. I suppose I'll try and make it with my band and after that open some form of clothing line. Then perhaps world domination :D

Well it hinges on my results this year (getting them on the 9th this month):
1. I get the grades and go into one of the best comp games courses in the country(From what I've been told it is)
2. I don't get the grades and I end up on a civil engineering course at the same uni
if both fail I've got to look for somthing else to do...

I've got a world domination plan. But it's going to be really hard to pull off. If that fails, I'll come up with something.

New plans for me. Im going to stick with this one too! yay.

Im going to OHSU after HS to get a doctors degree in anesthesiology. It pays a lot, there is always a need for good anesthesiologist everywhere, its easy to find a job in the field and the its very respected.

Yay for looking at stats and giving sleepy time drugs!

Aren't they called "Anesthetists"?

RD
July 21st, 2006, 03:35 am
No. My aunt (a nurse, whoot) calls them anesthesiologist, I was on the internet and it also said anesthesiologist. So im sure its anesthesiologist.

*lol, copy pasted anesthesiologist. To lazy to type it.*

M

Anesthetists - One that utilizes anesthetics.
Anesthesiologist - One that studies anesthetics.

Slight difference, and it is all in the latin suffix.

I just got accepted into UTSA :)

My major is Sociology and I haven't chosen my minor yet. I can't decide between Psychology and Women and Gender Studies. I want to get my certification so I can teach HS level Sociology.

My boyfriend graduates two years ahead of me, so when i'm a junior, we'll get married. After I graduate in four-five years, we're both joining the Peace Corps. He wants to help people in less fortunate countries develop computer skills and I want to start women and young adult programs (hence the Women and Gender Studies minor). When we come back, I'll teach for two-four years and then we'll start a family ^_^

He was in China though. That could be why they are sued a lot XD XD XD X=

If you dont do anything wrong the judge will usualy go for the doctor. Death or problems are always a factor and when you go into surgery the anastesiologist is supposed to tell the family and patient what is going to happen and can happen.

*all doctors should have a personal lawyer anyways*

EDIT - the suffix may differ the two doctors, but the term Anesthesiologist is still commonly used by many for the doctor that watches the patients stats and gives anesthetics before, durring and after the surgery. My aunt told me that and Im going with her thing because... well, she works with them.

Ever since I was about seven or so I wanted to be a marine biologest... I loved dolphins and sea otters... I just loved animals of the sea all together. But Just recently I realized I would be much happier being an artist. I love to draw... and paint... and write... all those things.

So now I'm at a crossroads. I could either go one way and be into science and mathmatics. (both I'm good at and enjoy) That would be more financially stable... but...
I could also go into arts... Which I'm good at, and I think I would enjoy more... but I've heard from several people that in the creative feilds it's hard to come by money.
A good income is important to me, but so is being happy with my carreer, which I have learned (from my parents) that is VERY important. I don't want to wake up every morning dreading going to work. That would majorly suck.

 Good think I'm only a sophmore in High School, but I need to figure this out in the next few years... :(

Don't worry too much about that Moonlight. A lot of college students don't really know what they want to go into either. Usually once you get your General Education credits done (about two to three years), you'll know what you want to do.

Note: this is based off of the American School system.

Better work hard! There are so many good musician it seems like its pointless. But just keep on working!

:P

I also want to paint as a side thing. Get a minor in art theory or history. I wamt to be famous. When I get old I want to go to third world counties to help people with medical needs and things.

Moonlight: I've got no idea what to do, either...although if I took Child Psychology, I could manipulate the children of the future into doing my bidding :D. But that was more of a joke idea XD.
Maybe I'll be a translator or something...

yea honestly i wouldnt worry about it moonlight. I went to college wanting to be an accountant and I completely stuffed up my 1st year because i realised i didnt want to do it as a career. so then i thought i wanted to be a games characetr designer which was when i went on to do the multimedia course which i've just finished. it was during that multimedia course that i got to experiment with many different media software and the opportunities were endless. website and interface design. graphics designer. 2d animator. 3d animator. 3d modeller. video/ digital editing lots of other things to. it was during this that i enjoyed 3d animation and realised i was 1 of the best in my class for it and so with the amount of possibilities out there that is the career i have decided to follow

ooOOOoo yeah well, the thing is my parents say if I don't have an idea in what I want to go on to study then i'll have to take architecture, and i think they've already decided on what A level's i'll be taking, but it's still like 1-2 years away!!

I'm hoping to become a commercial artist and do concept art for a living.

Or start my own manga. Then start my own fashion company, then retire and teach kids how to play the piano while studying sociology.

Lol, thats what I wanted to do a while back ._.

After collage I want to travel around on foot a bit. I dont know how though because I should go straight to internship. But I dont know what happens if I dont get a job straight after internship; will it be harder for me to find a hospital to work in? I dont know, still want to travel around.

I also decided that I would be fine with anything in the medical field. But I would be most happy as an Anesthesiologist.

He was in China though. That could be why they are sued a lot XD XD XD X=

Nu-uh. Cos in China there's too much communisum, very rarely are people rich enough to afford to sue specially in a small province like my own.
but still Anesthesiologists do get sued very often.

But in bigger countries the sueing comes in massive amounts you can get sued for stepping on someones foot.
People who have the time, effort and money sue to make other people's life a living hell and cos they know you have money why not keep sueing you.

My dad was once shadowing a fellow who was an Anesthesiologist and he told my dad the story of an old lady who sued him for too much Anesthic or something and he spent a lot of money on his lawyer to make the old lady go away.

Plus the Lawyers are evil and charge even if you're putting the case on a hold.

RD
July 24th, 2006, 11:18 pm
Thats why all doctors are recomended to get a good lawyer. There are laws that protect doctors from stupid people and if you do your job right theres no reason for an old lady to sue you.

And like I said judges are usualy for the doctors then the old ladies.

My plans are to continue my majors in Spanish, Japanese, and Computer Information Systems. I plan on finish my major with Spanish a few years earlier, if I continue at the rate I am going, and so I should be able to get a job translating Spanish.

I can use this money to supply myself with a further education to get a good degree in CIS and Japanese. I won't start out big, but I do want to be able to work on programming and eventually move to Japan to work in the video game industry. As for now, I just need to keep my grades up, and hopefully I'd like to find a job as a waiter at a Spanish restaraunt so I can improve my fluency in Spanish.

I've thought of what i might do.
After GCSEs, i'm thinking of leaving my current school and study for a IB diploma instead of A levels somewhere else. After, get a degree in any subject i'm interested in, and then go get another degree in financing/economics, then go work or maybe take some time off for environmental or aid work. I don't mind the low pay.

I know i won't be satisfied just working in an office, i need it to be busy, exciting with things always changing, something to stimulate my mind everyday, needs me to be flexible.

Frankly it's impossible to know what you want to do now, but my rough idea has put my mind ot rest, for now.
