Those drawings are okay, they need some more detail and shading...

Don´t make the picture to Pixel-ish. Make soft edges and shade the head and face, to create a more lively expression.
Remember: The most important part is the eyes

I like the color on the sword.

The folds in the jacket are odd and random. They just don't seem to follow the laws of physics. :P Polykarbon has great tuts for foreshortening I believe. I can sort of tell that he's holding his left arm out, but it doesn't look very real.
