What games, for any system, and any genre, deserve a sequel or a prequel??

Personally, I'd like to see Valkyrie Profile 2. The makers of the up coming game, "Radiata Stories", mentioned something about another Valkyrie Profile. But he didn't really say for certain. The last appearence of a Valkyrie Profile character was in Star Ocean: Till the End of Time. Bunch of hardass bosses. To me, Valkyrie Profile is under-apprieciated. It's pretty rare nowadays too. They can go over $100 in auctions and such. Anyway, it would be great to see another Valkyrie Profile.

Also, if Valkyrie Profile made by square?

Chrono Break was soppose to be made, but it was cancelled

Valkyrie Profile is made by Enix, which is now Square-Enix. If its gonna be made by square-enix, its gonna have good graphics ^^

i reckon they should re-make the old SNES game, soul blazer. it had a great plot, plus it could make for some pretty sweet gameplay

I think Chrono Break is still under counstruction, or it was just a roumor...

One Thing I hate about Square is that they made this group stop making a remake of Chrono Trigger. They were making it in full 3D, but Square Enix sent them a letter to stop or else O_O'

also, heres an image sent out by SquareENIX a while back for Chrono Break

Anyone remember Probotector from SNES? Well, it should get one =]

RD
August 5th, 2005, 08:38 am
Probotector looks like robotech.....seriously, it does!

I think the only game worth talking about a sequal for it is Chrono Cross.

there are plenty of good games that deserve sequels, like sam and max (stoopid lucasarts canceling the project...)

OMG I used to play that game when I was like 3 years old!

I still think that Chrono Cross is the best game Ive ever played, and quite possably the best game I ever will play.

I think Sacrifice deserves a seqeul. Sacrifice is a good game, the reason it is not popular is because Shiny failed to advertise it much. It they did make a sequel, I am sure that they will get lots of hits on the game.

I doubt it, people often don't care about a part two if they haven't even heard of part 1.

Yup. As for me, I want more Shining Force (and none of that button-mashing crap they recently released)!!! I hope SEGA decides to remake entire the Shining Force III saga and release it in America. I don't really like NIS's overly convoluted strategy-rpg systems, and they seem to be the only ones coming out with strategy-rpg games regularly...*sigh*

Well, Halo 2 was a huge hit, while Halo 1 wasnt that well known for like the first
2 years it was out, and the only reason why people bought Halo 1 like hot cakes was because they wanted to know more before Halo 2 ;)

You're kidding...right ?

RD
August 5th, 2005, 05:47 pm
nope.

Halo wasnt that popular for about a year or two, untill Bungie said that they would be making a sequal. Then people started to buy it like crazy probably to see what happens before #2.

It was GOING to be made, but right after, they cancelled it. They announced the trademark logo of "Chrono Break" in America, which is that green logo you have there, in December of 2001. In Japan its called "Chrono Brake". The American trademark was dropped in January of 2002 I beleive but yet the Japan one hasn't been dropped yet. You never know, but you MIGHT actually see a "Chrono Brake", only in Japan though. The American version will be highly unlikey now.

Anyone heard of "Thousand Arms"? Really fun game made by Atlus. Should make another one ^^. It's an RPG with a gameplay with a little dash of The Sims.

Actualy, I did some snooping around on 'Chrono Break'.
The logo was released in 01, and in 04, they released that picture, and as of now, nothing was released.

Just because they havent said anything about it doesnt mean they arnt working on it. Meybe its going to be that special project that square does every so often that is VERY VERY secret.

Actually everyone was all over HALO even before it was ever released but whatever...

Or maybe they scrapped it out of quality/creative concerns (at least for now) - though more likely, they are probably just keeping quiet about it, trying not to let it steal too much attention from the other big Square Enix hits set to come out soon.

As Angelic stated, it was the success of HALO that spawned the creation of HALO 2 (and consequently, HALO 3 is in the works). It's pretty rare that a franchise which didn't draw much attention in the first place would yield sequels (except maybe for budget titles).

Anyway, the Chrono series is too big of a hit among fans to just throw away and not make a sequel. There's going to be a sequel of Chrono Cross, it's just a matter of when.

Anyone think that the Legend of the Dragoon deserves a sequel???

I think they should make a sequel of Legend of the Dragoon that was a fun game.

My friend still has my cpoy of it...I only got to the end of disk one O_O

Maybe where ever you lived, but where I live [USA], it wasnt that popular for a while, then became a HUGE hit.

Did you also hear the Bungie might make a Halo2.5?

Legend of the Dragoon was fun, overly hyped though -_-. Most of the advertisment for LOTD says, "3 years in the making, over 100 staff members."

There's a new mana game comin out, "World of Mana", Square's Mana series.

I like that logo, its nice!

On IGN, it says that its a multi-platformer. But when you think of multi-platform games, its Xbox, PS2 and GCN..But World of Mana is a PS2/DS game..Is the graphical expectations for the DS so good a PS2 game can be played on it? I really hope so because I have a DS!

XaoTiKGuNz
August 6th, 2005, 08:28 pm
Well from my guess, World of Mana is going to be a lot like FFXI. Except with the feature of bringing it around where ever you want. It's a Square-Enix game and Square-Enix is SOPPOSED to exclusively be with Sony. Sony is PS2 and PSP. It should be for one of those 2 platforms....

RD
August 6th, 2005, 09:55 pm
But it isnt. Square is not only working with Sony. You are forgeting what platform the original Square games were on, and who made that system. Also, unless you wernt living under a rock, you should know that Final Fantasy XI is going to the Xbox later.

Everywhere I go, they say World of Mana will be for the DS and PS2, even Square said so. Also, I dont think it will be a MMORPG, it will be a one [or two] player RPG, like they used to be.

Square-Enix is starting to sell all their games to different companies, and i think its a good move. has anyone heard of the mobile division of square-enix? they are focused on mobile games, and have made the FF7 snowboarding game for specific mobiles, along with polyphonic official final fantasy ringtones. i thought to myself, "Well, at least they are moving into the mobile market as well." and then swore lots when i found out that my mobile couldn't run their games...

If it is for DS, they may (for some reason) do it in the style of four swords, so you have multiple people playing a single game, but not online

Yes I've heard about FFXI is going to Xbox. Xbox really needed that because to me, they lack some worthy RPG's.

World of Mana for DS...sounds good. I hope it's better than Legend of Mana, that game was so boring and lame, collecting treasue pieces.

Which handheld system is stronger anyway?? PSP or DS? Kinda surprised that Microsoft dosen't have a handheld system, even with the billionare Bill Gates.

PSP is (about a playstation 1.5ish), but DS (about nintendo 64) is a pretty good hand-held too

EDIT: i have actually no idea, this was just what i heard :heh:

You may be right in a way. But that is only in the Grphical way of looking at it. If you look at what it can do and what games are coming out for it, the DS is alot better..

Also, the DS is known to do DreamCast graphics, and it surpasses N64 graphics by alot. An example is Super Mario64 and Super Mario 64 DS. In the N64 version, there was no Anti-Aliasing, while the DS version has Anti-Aliasing on every frame.

BTW, Anti-Aliasing is the shaded color around what ever to make it blend into the background.

Don't tell me you live in a box. Halo was always popular before Halo 2 came out. :)

Did you also hear the Bungie might make a Halo2.5?

I was playing Xbox Live with as a Guest with my friend and we heard that from a Bungie Mod. It was at least 4 - 5 months ago since I heard that though. XD

Even though Seiken Densetsu 3 has a sequel, id still like a PS2 or PS3 :shifty: remake or sequel take two... something that sticks to the SD3 uber-ness a little more XD ...

dont get me wrong legend of mana is awesome... but SD3 No 2... XD XD XD

RD
August 9th, 2005, 12:33 am
wow, can you please use the english names please? I know most of the people here know that your talking about legend of mana, but some might now :)

I think putting it on the DS is a very nice move, the touch screen makes most games easier to use, and the game play moves alot faster so you dont have to scroll down to find an item, or select an attack faster then having to press up and down to find somthing.

Soppose to be another Suikoden game coming out. It's called "Suikoden Tactics" or "Rhapsodia" in Japan. I'm not sure if it is in anyway connected to previous Suikoden games....but here's the box cover for the import version. http://ps2media.ign.com/ps2/image/object/753/753601/rhapsodia_ps2box_jap_org_000boxart_160w.jpg

Coming to U.S. in November 8, 2005.
