Unusual to have anything other than a solo instrument in a toccata, but I guess it works having the strings there. :) Have you considered making it for organ? That way you have 3 staves available to compose harmonies into. Before you continue much further, remember that Toccatas often have fast-paced, running passages and long, drawn-out chords. :) What other toccatas have you heard before? (Bach, Paradise?) Or did you just want to make one for the fun of it?

Every piece of music i make is half-assed, just for fun, i don't take music seriously at all, except few rare times. Rate it please.

Oh, forgot to rate it! I'll give it 4/10 thus far as a toccata (I'm a Bach-lover, have you heard his Toccatas?), but as any type of song, I'd give it a 7/10! :D

Toccata

I don't know much about toccatas, so I will rate the song as any kind of music.

I like how the song develops...sort of, it isn't annoying to listen to, so that's a good thing. Um, I don't think the strings match here. They sound false and unnecessary. The part after 00:38 is better that the rest of the song, too bad it's a total rip-off from a track in FFX, but I don't think you noticed that, or if you have the slightest clue about what I am saying.

3.5/10 - Needs improvement

With this quote, I guarantee that you are stupid. If you don't take music serious, why the hell do you want us to rate your damn songs? And when I do, you just get upset and start crying. When I mentioned the FFX track, I clearly said that I don't think you noticed it. This could be because you didn't hear the FFX soundtrack, as you said. Then why the hell do you call me a dumbass? In my very honest opinion you are just plain stupid. How come everyone else on this forum can take suggestions and opinions and you can't? Don't tell us to rate your songs if you can't take criticism. What would you like us to say? THAT WAS AMAZING! THAT ALMOST MADE ME CRY... 10/10

You're pathetic, really.

You simply asked us to comment on your songs, and I did, so stop being a baby and grow some balls. I'm no kindergarden teacher at all, I can be harsch sometimes yeah, but it's for a reason. Call me "self-esteem killer" if you want to, and continue listening to your friends' niceties.

There are 2 kinds of fat kids.

1.) There are the ones who take mean comments and hate the person who gave it to them forever, and then go home sulking. Then the nice people tell him that he is perfect, just like everyone else. He'll be fat and feel worthless for the rest of his life.

2.) There are the ones who realises the truth, they take comments and develop them by not giving up. They fight to get thin, and thus they gain Self-esteem.

I can tell you right now that the latter kid loses weight, and gains self-confidence.

If ANY other forum member here agrees with you that I dis others' work because I suck at composing, I would really, really want to know. I think you owe me an appology, although I doubt you'll ever apologize. You insulted me as I was trying to be supportive.

And I really think it's 'mature' to reply on my other thread like "You suck, quit composing" because you didn't accept my criticism.

I'm just being supportive as well, after you make few other worthless, head ache inducing compositions, you'll think back with pain and regret, i'm trying to prevent that. And this is not vague or offensive, it's truth, take it any way you like.

Rofl, "you suck, quite composing". I should quote that for an away message, combined with your previous post. Honestly, how is that comment in ANY way supportive? Its discouraging; that is it. Its an insult on his work, then a rude remark. That is not what being supportive is. Well, here...www.dictionary.com, find out for yourself. Also, what you said is not a truth, or a fact, but an opinion. Noir gave his opinion, and you gave yours. The only difference is that Noir's was an attempt to help yours improve, while yours was an attempt to have him stop, accompanied by NO supportive information for why it was bad whatsoever.

Secondly, if you don't have any support for your side of the arguement, its best NOT to agrue. Typically when people do that, they sound pretty stupid and it appears that they have no idea what they are talking about. Btw, why would you quote the previous post? People can read,(except, as proved by Noir, people like you), retard.

From my point of view, which I suspect (with good reason too) that many other people share with me, that you perhaps a bit jealous and envious of Noir's abilities compared to that of your abilities (which I am too, so don't feel bad.) Regardless of your reasons, it is completely inappropiate to insult someone else's work simply becuase your opinion was different, your jealous, or whatever. Noir did not 'dis' your work. Nothing there at all was degrading, insulting, or unhelpful. And his intentions were pure, and only to help you.

Find ONE person in this forum that will agree with ANYTHING you say. Just one. I doubt you'll find one in any forum that will agree with the demented thoughts you have, let alone this one. Finally, this should continue in pms, so people can continue to rate your composition(s), rather than have Angelic come by and lock it. I get so irrated when people like you flat out insult other people's compositions without ANY support. So...please pm me when you find something supportive ;)

SaintSavage... If you post music here you have to be able to take criticism. Insulting other's composition abilities is an hominem fallacy when arguing your point, and just weakens your standpoint.

Noir7... saying "it's a total rip-off from a track in FFX, but I don't think you noticed that, or if you have the slightest clue about what I am saying." really doesn't help. The rest of your criticism was constructive.

oh, and haha angelic... :D

6/10 : It waws pretty good but you need to finish it so then you'll get a higher rating. And if you spend more time with your music I'll bet you'll waken a bunch of people real soon with your music. And Noir7 and SS please don't start another feud

Way better than anything I can compose, but......from my opinion....5/10.

I'm trying at the begining to figure out if its going to be a major or minor song, its nice to have songs that switch, but your song makes me wonder the whole time.

You also might want to toss in a few more instruments, so....it can be......hmm...a bit more musical, I guess. The chords don't always go together, but overall it was okay. I just think it needed to develop a more defined melody. Well, good job!

hmmmmm i think unless u have some piano background u shouldn't use piano so much ^.^ i think if u use strings through-out it mite be better! *piano is the instument that seems to stand out* So unless u spend a lot of time on it dun use it much k?

i'm sure if u spend more time perfecting the timing and adding more instruments all your compositions will sound better...

 when u said that the music u make is "half-assed" it...Bothers me!! It's good to have fun making music..and u don't HAVE to perfect every last detail but at least TRY to make it musical... :frusty:

....*blink* umm.. Why did u name this song Toccata 13? I dunno...i think this song should have a more original name ^.^

Rating: 4/10
