Hi,
I'm a new user and I'd like to show you a few of my songs.
I started composing music a few years ago, mostly videogame background tracks.
For my compositions I use an ordinary midi sequencer and a sampler called Gigastudio.
Since I don't play an instrument I have to insert every
single note by mouse click but well... you get used to it.
I'd appreciate some feedback regarding my music
and I really hope you'll enjoy my compositions.

I like the sound quality alot.
Apocalypse-Very much like video game music in my opinion
and a great song just to listen to as well. A very pleasant beginning.

Endless Horizon-A good pleasant one as well, I can Visualize the title easy.

Distant Universe- I love this new dance beat style :heh:
Makes you just wanna get up.

Great job in all these

Thanks Klonoa,
I appreciate your comment.
Yeah, I tried to include different genres in my
first thread so I deliberately picked these three songs.

I agree, the sound quality is crystal clear.

Apocalypse
This sounds like it could be a soundtrack for Legend of Zelda (for Twilight Princess for example). It's got a very epic/heroic theme and I LOVE the tenderness in the oboe(?) solo (at 1:15). I got goosebumps listening to this.

Endless Horizon
My favourite. Makes me close my eyes and envision someone walking in the misty dawn under giant redwood trees where the sunlight is just beginning to dapple the forest floor...it's beautiful.... I can listen to this while I draw.

Distant Universe
Another catchy piece, very energetic. Certain parts of the song remind me of Robert Miles' style.

I like all the tracks and I will visit your website

Here's another song I composed. It is a pop ballad kind of song. I created the melody and the backing track. After that I found myself a very talented singer and a lyric writer and this is what we came up with together.

If you hate this kind of music, better listen to my other compositions instead.
Still I think it was a fun project and I hope you'll appreciate my efforts :heh:

Wow. There are too many people making video game background tracks. I had no idea there were so many around here...*feels too un-unique*
Apocalypse
I REALLY like this song! BTW, what do you consider an "ordinary midi sequencer?" Your songs sound very real. I am impressed with this song and I think it sounds perfect for an exciting opening song to something. Even a movie! (or video game if you really prefer that) The bigging reminds me of some kind of place that has something to do with time or time travel.
Endless Horizon
I didn't love that background...water-dropping sound(???)...but I think I can live with it in this song. But besides that this is a very nice piece and I think it makes me think of some kind of reflective (literally) sanctuary where the characters of the game come to for the knowledge of the inhabitant.
Distant Universe
I think this sounds like some kind of theme for travel in space. For some reason in brings to mind Baiton Kaidos (or however you spell it, since I don't own it). It's big and exciting and it has the need to be important!
Elisha-In Your Eyes
I'll comment on this one a bit later.

Sorry, just one more question. What exactly are "samples." I keep hearing about them lately, but I can't figure out what they are. BTW, your website is very professional!

Samples are recorded wave files that can be used in a similar way as soundfonts. I have some GigaStudio samples that are over 1GB / instrument. Now THAT will leech some RAM!

No WONDER the orchestration sounds so good! Thanks for the info, Noir7.

I consider Record Producer Midi an ordinary midi sequencer.
It was just $30 and there are dozens of better sequencers out there.
I think as long as it allows you to type notes, alter volume and pitch, it's fine. I do all the midi based stuff in my midi sequencer and just add better sounds with Gigastudio.

The water dropping sound in Endless Horizon... :heh:
Actually I didn't even hear that anymore until you pointed it out.
It felt so backgroundish to me that I totally forgot about it.
Well, I think that's a matter of taste :hey:
It's a high pitch sonar by the way :shifty:
