Okay, I am working on a song(which sucks, primarily because the whole song is based on a D minor scale/chord) and I am having trouble with it, somewhere around measure 27 or so. So at measure 27, I want it to ritardo until the d in the left hand, which I want to move at the speed it was moving at measure 26 and less, for a good bit.

So...to make sure your not confused, what happens at measure 27 is that the measure is slowing in ritardo, but it keeps slowing down, slower and slower until the end. That is not what I want.

What I DO want is for the last note in the left hand(or the base) of measure 27, which is a D, I want it to go at the tempo of which measure 26 and under were, from the end note(D) of 27 and for the rest of the song until I specify.

I...hope I explained it clearly enough, and this is more of a rough draft of my song, so please don't yell at me for accents, stacattos, and crec. and dec., for I intend (but haven't) added them in yet. However, aside from this, I would like HONEST input for this song (and I will be so pissed off if someone else wrote something like this.) I beg you guys, if you hate it, please say so.

Firstly, I don't think its that good, so I won't really hurt my feelings. Secondly, if you guys really don't like it, give me the impression you do like it and really don't, don't you think I'll feel a lot worse later on if I found out you didn't really like then if you told me right off? Lastly, I asked kindly, so please do the same and be truthful with me(and harsh.)

Oh, and for fixing it...please send it to me via email (Charnel637@aol.com) with an explanation of what you did in the email and/or in this post, so I don't have to ask what I need to do in the future. Hope you guys have a different insight then I do, and.....that's it. Back to Chobitsu.

Can you please provide a midi of what you have so far? I can't open mus files.

Lol, okay, but please keep in mind...that the .MID file still has the problems of a never ending ritardo at the end, and is only a rough draft.

- thanks for the midi
- nice and exciting; always kept my interest
- the idea of death can be heightened with some dissonance
- sorry, it doesn't sound like a dance to me in some places
- try to stay away from the repetitious use of full chords, as well as "slamming" them
- I liked how you transitioned to the next slow part
- this new dance is a bit slow for me (perhaps a rename of the title?)
- since I can't open the mus file, I am unable to give you further detailed suggestions, sorry

I like the song, but it's too "slammy" as Alphonse said. Maybe you should transpose it? Also, I would like to hear fast arpeggios! ^^

I like it. Is it going to end there, or will it keep going? Well, judging by the title of the thread I guess it will go longer. Try going back to the faster themes after the slow section.

7/10 above average, noteable.

Okay, I finished it for piano, and now I am working on it in an orchestrative version. I found the reason, the ritardo's and other dynamic stuff does not work well in converting to MIDI's. So.....I'll just pots a .MUS which no one will download. And a MIDI later, so about 3 people will check out. Its not PERFECT, but.....I'm reasonably happy for it being a first composition, even if it does suck.

Edit: Whoops, forgot to upload

You forgot to post it ^_^. Anyhow, I've listened to it before, so I'll give my thoughts on it.

I like how it starts, by showing off the main melody. I also liked how it develops, and has the same...touch all the way through. You got the composition very catchy, and that's a major thing, in my opinion. Not many non-professional compositions have that, so that's a good thing. The negative thing is that it's too slammy. The chords in the beginning and middle are good, but they are way to 'low'. You should transpose it at least 5 steps (half-steps). Other than that, I can't find more bad stuff...I hope you'll continue on it even more, and with more variations!

77/100 - Very good.
