Excited? Nervous? I just got some bumph through on email from the Orthoptic Department at Liverpool Uni - apparently I should've sent all my bursary forms in ages ago, argh >.< Who's applying for accommodation on-campus - are you going for catered or self-catered? They need so many forms filled out :/

Erm, yeah, talk about random uni-related stuff ;) Who's going where to study what this September? Joining any societies? The anime society at Liverpool Uni are giving away free Pocky at Fresher's Fair XD

Madmazda86
August 20th, 2005, 11:33 pm
And you don't have to pay so much for accommodation! Accommodation in London is soooo expensive, I'm really glad that I won't have to worry about paying that if I get sent there on clinical placement - though I would have to buy a monthly tube ticket which would be a pain >.<

£74 for a one semester bus pass :crybaby: I'm gonna be so bloody poor!

DarkMagician
August 20th, 2005, 11:45 pm
well...thats a better than £1-- (??!?) travel card for each month!!!!!! lol...but then again...i guess that i really dont ahve other expenses as you do....lol

now...wheres all the other uni students going-to-be gone?

I'm going to study Japanese at the "Hogeschool Zuyd" in Maastricht, all the way in the southern tip of the Netherlands. Hence I'm living in Belgium starting next week =P

Small note: "Hogeschool" translates directly to Highschool but in the Netherlands it's one of the two types of universities we have. "Zuyd" is a way of spelling "Zuid" which means South.

And I'm just stupid _ _

Madmazda86
August 22nd, 2005, 06:53 pm
Naw, you're not stupid - you can spell, that's better than a lot of people XD I have all my term dates for this year - practically a whole month of my summer holidays I'm gonna be spending on clinical placement, booooo! :bleh:

P.S. Also, I put this in the private forum originally 'cause I wasn't sure if people would want the general public to know where they're studying at Uni etc, but if nobody minds it being here that's fine ~

UAD- computer games technology

I'm staying at home, the only problem with that is the travel cost because of where I live.
Whats going to be really interesting is the Dare to be digital contest

Madmazda86
August 22nd, 2005, 09:03 pm
Wow, that sounds like a challenging course - a lot of graphics and programming involved, no doubt?

Phenix
August 22nd, 2005, 09:06 pm
yep, but thankfuly we don't get into the graphics until year 3 so there is plenty of time to get ready

I always thought that living in dorms were free...
So that's why students are so poor...

I'm going to University of Birmingham to study music, whee ~ :D I'm going to live on campus (actually, near it) and going for self-catered. It's so I don't have to pay for meals over weekends/holidays or breakfasts I miss when I might not be around/awake. I haven't got any forms yet. Only thing I've sent off really is my confirmation for my place on the course.

Madmazda86
August 23rd, 2005, 09:19 am
Yeah, I went for self-catering 'cause I'm not gonna be there half the time XD And yes, self-catered suits you Spoon 'cause you're a late riser ;) *remembers Angelic going "Waaah, Spoon's still in bed" on numerous occasions over MSN in the morning* :P

Phenix - wish I had your luck, I have to do loads of optics in the first year in order to get up to the same standards as the Physics A-Level students. Dammit, I HATED Physics when I did it at GCSE, I thought I'd seen the last of it x_x

Eternal - my accommodation is gonna cost me about £2556 a year! The only problem being my student loan is only £2050...

Madmazda86
August 29th, 2005, 04:17 pm
£30?! Geez x_x I'm so glad Mum's kept records of all my vaccinations - I've already had two doses of MMR and would've ended up with a 3rd if I hadn't been able to prove that I'd already had it done :\ I suppose it's better to be safe than sorry, but man, I'm so sick of having needles stuck in me >.< Sending off my NHS Bursary application form today, hope they give me lotsamoney :D Less than 3 weeks till I go now!

Good job to you all! You made it in life :P Your all smart people, and if you made it this far, you cant go back XD

Madmazda86
September 1st, 2005, 07:25 am
Oooo, I forgot student loan applications would be busy at this time of the year - they did mine relatively quickly but then I sent my form off before results came out so that could well be why. Don't worry, you'll get your assessments soon! I made a complete mess of the application form and rang them up about twenty times but mine still went through okay, and I'm sure you two aren't as ditzy about form-filling as I am XD

Yeah, I sent mine back in May too. The deadline was end of June though.

I just got a whole pack of stuff from the university Music department... I have to pay even MORE money??? Membership this and dinner that... not to mention the endless list of scores.

Madmazda86
September 5th, 2005, 09:27 am
I know the feeling - I have to fork out for Athletics Union membership, dinner fees and blah. Not to mention £25 for clinical equipment. They want me to buy my own pen torches, occluders, fixators etc when you can get 6 pen torches from an NHS catalogue for £1.60 >.< Rip off merchants!
