What are earworms? (http://my.webmd.com/content/article/61/67505.htm)

So . . let's discuss, haha. What are your earworms? What do you do to get rid of them? Do you think this is a real problem? Etc.

I Abhorr those days... specially the more annoying the song, the more it gets stuck on your mind. But sometimes, whenever a song comes up to my mind like the theme song of Ally Mcbeal, I just feel like jiving to the beat. But then I realize I am standing in the middle of the street at a rush hour tons of people beside me would stare at me like hell...

I usually get my own music stuck in my head after playing it on piano. Aaaaaaaaaah! I hate my music! I give birth to it, then it won't leave me alone!

that article is silly, when I have an earworm of death, I usually overplay the song so much, that I hate it and never want to hear it again. then it's gone ^_^

Nah...the most annoying is when you have an older video game song that loops over and over in your game (Like Mario for example). Now THAT'S the crazy one XD

For example, I'm listening to Terra's theme (FF6/3) I have had it stuck in my head ALL day.

Kept me very friendly company during my major test though ^_^ it was relaxing XD

you'd think so but it works... it's wierd. I always figured that if I have a song in my head it's because I wanna hear it, so I gave into my minds craving LOL and then it's happy and stops bugging me... until the next song ^_~

My last serious earworm was "Going where my Heart will take me." (Main Title song to Enterprise.) Drove me NUTS!!! @_@ But when they changed the arraingment/instrumentation in the Third Season, it stopped being a problem. Weird!

Me as well, if I have a song in my head I'll put the CD on, that usually replaces it with another song from the same CD XD I have my favourites - pet earworms :P

I read in a science article that there are certain songs that will get rid of the earworms. Some of the songs were "In the Jungle (The Loin sleeps tonight)" and "Who let the dogs out?" They work for me, but not for some of my friends. Try it sometime and see if it works for you.

For me, it's probably "Boulevard of Broken Dreams," even though I don't like that song. :\
