I know, you kids out there prefer your Naruto and Bleach and whatnot, but anime was around far longer than you or I. Alright, enough nonsense, list your favourite oldies and the year they were first aired in Japan - do some Googling if you don't know 'em by heart. :P

(in no particular order)
1. Saber Marionetter J (1996)
2. Slayers TV Series (1995)
3. Slayers NEXT TV Series (1996)
4. Slayers TRY TV Series (1997)
5. Lost Universe (1998)
6. NG Knight Lamune & 40 (1990)
7. VS Knight Lamune & 40 Fire (1996)

Let's get the list rolling', people. Ah, we were once young . . . ;__; . . .

Slam Dunk (1993) - Awesome bball, funny as hell, and oh the fights! Daaaaamn juicy fights. They're badass, man! B) I could care less the rest of the series. Okay, maybe all the comedic moments (Sakuraki and his "these shoes are too small :ph34r: " after they wear out and rip :P). Still find myself hopping to those certain bloody episodes. Man, those were the days. ;__;

Captain Tsubasa (1983)
Detective Conan (1996 and ongoing) - Brilliant.
Kimagure Orange Road (1987) - Much love.
Most of Studio Ghibli's old movies, some which I saw in theatre.

Doraemon (not sure the year...around 1993 I guess)1979. Yup, it's been around.

Slayers TV SeriesWatched for a while, but never liked. That guy what's his name was cool though..... Zelas.

Not really old but Sorcerous Stabber Orphen, plus its sequel Revenge (1998, 1999). <3

And probably left out a bunch.

I probably started watching Astroboy when I was 5 or 6 years old, which would have been 1966-67.

For some not yet mentioned...I adore Oniisama E (Brother Dear Brother) and Rose of Versailles both which are manga by Riyoko Ikeda. Both manga ran in the early 70s I believe... the Rose of Versailles anime was in the late 70s and Oniisama E ran as an anime in 1991-2. Romeo's Blue Skies is another great one that I believe was late 80s or early 90s... it was a part of World Masterpiece Theater which showcased classics of children's literature for over a decade.

And... you can never go wrong with good old Harlock. :)

Sailor Moon, Rurouni Kenshin and Yu Yu Hakusho.
All were made in the early 1990's. Yu Yu Hakusho is fiftten years old and I love it to death.....All I need is a job to get the boxset. ;)

Na, it's only from the same year of that other anime you mentioned XD

When it comes to oldies for me, it's probably stuff from the mid-nineties, like the Slayers series. Problem is that I didn't start watching until 2001 or so, so Hellsing is as much of an oldie as Slayers is.

The real oldies for me are stuff like Samurai Pizza Cats. I loved that show.
