Hello I'm new here and I'm trying to play the opening song for the anime Lain on the guitar. I took like 5 guitar lessons and my parents made me quit because I also learned piano and with my homework I had no time to practise so I basically have no idea what I'm doing.

Here is the chords for the song:

G Bm
And you don't seem to understand
Em Bm
A shame you seamed an honest man
G Bm
And all the fears you hold so dear

Em Bm
Will turn to whisper in your ear
G
And you know what I sad might hurt you
Bm
And you know that means so much
Em Bm
And you don't even feel a thing

Em Bm G
I am falling, I am fading
Em Bm G
I have lost it all

G Bm
And you don't seem the lying kind
Em Bm
A shame then I can read your mind
G Bm
And all the things that I read there
Em Bm
Candle lit smile that we both share

G
And you know I don't mean to hurt you
Bm
But you know that to means so much
Em Bm
And you don't even feel a thing

Em Bm G Em
I am falling, I am fading, I am drowning
Bm G
Help me to breathe
Em Bm G
I am hurting, I have lost it all
Em
I am losing
Bm G
Help me to breathe

Solo: 4 vezes || G | Bm | Em | Bm ||

Em Bm G Em
I am falling, I am fading, I am drowning
Bm G
Help me to breathe
Em Bm G
I am hurting, I have lost it all
Em
I am losing
Bm G
Help me to breathe

Solo 2: 2 vezes || Em | Em | Em | Em ||

Em Bm G Em
I am falling, I am fading, I am drowning
Bm G
Help me to breathe
Em Bm G
I am hurting, I have lost it all
Em
I am losing
Bm G
Help me to breathe

So when it says Em or Bm or G I know thats the chord name thing.(forgot what it's called:sweat: ) So when it says that are you supposed to only play it once where it is or are you supposed to play it few times? And how do you know how you are supposed to play it?
Am I making any sense??:\ Sorry, please help me!!

Ummm... Maybe just play it however you want, because the melody is your vocals. If you want, either use whole notes for each chords, or eighth notes throughout one measure each.

Well, most of the time with chords like that you have to listen to it to get the strumming down. And a lot of the time it doesn't matter, just come up with something that goes well with the words.

And usually the chord is above the word when your supposed to make the change.

I'm not exactly sure if that is what your asking about. But I hope that helps.

Yeah, those guitar chords you put up there should be placed over the lyrics, indicating when you change. But if you listen to a song, you'll hear when to switch.

You can either play the chords rolled, or arpeggiate. To 'arpeggiate' is to use the strings of the chords (for example G) and play them individually. These are some of the easier chords on the guitar, so you should have no trouble playing it =P
