I tried longing in to my email adress just now and I was redirected to a page saying:

How to get to Hotmail
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hotmail does not support the .NET Passport you are signed in to. Visit the Hotmail Web site for information or to set up a free account.

If this is the case and I can't login to my email, I'll have lost all of my important messages etc.

Has anyone else had this problem? <_<

Yeah, just keep trying to log in and eventually the stupid thing will work again. It takes a fair few tries to get it to work again though.

Don't use hotmail. Its the worst e-mail service in the world. After a certain number of days of inactivity, they suspend your account until you re-validate it, and in the meantime they delete all your messages. This really hurt me a while back when I won letter of the month from EGM, except there was a mixup with my address. To validate me they wanted me to send them a copy of the original, unedited letter, but I hand't logged into the hotmail account that I sent it from for so long that the same thing happened. PM me if you want and I'll pop you a gmail invite, or use linuxmail.org. Those two are the only two email services I have used in years, and I've never had a single gripe about either of them.

I think hotmail's okay, really. Shouldn't complain about free stuff

Doesn't really help, but I'd recommend moving away from yahoo/hotmail/etc to either a low-cost paid service, or gmail. Gmail has the best web interface I've seen for a free service (or paid for that matter) and has POP3 support so you can use Outlook/Thunderbird/whatever.

It's still invite only, but I'm sure everyone with an account has about 100 invitations they'd be willing to share (myself included).

Personally I don't gmail's that great either. In fact, their privacy policy is kind of screwy.

I use gmail. I have like 49 invites so if anybody wants one just ask okay? It's not like I have anybody else to give tham to anyway.
