Tell me what you think. In my oppinion, I find it choppy but I don't know how the change that.
Oh yeah, I suck at thinking of names for them.

It was good, but try adding the sustenuto pedal(sp?). Also try adding chords to the right hand. 7/10.:)

Assuming that this is your first composition. It's unusually good. I can't say that the melody was easily memorable after only one listen, but it was very well developed. There are few places where the accompaniment at the bottom doesn't seem to fit the melody, but you might've been just experimenting with dissonance. By all means, get used to dissonance as early as possible, but you need to have a balance of consonance and dissonance in order for a piece to work really well (If you want a good example, people have stated my latest work uses dissonance in an exceptionally tasteful manner; a link to that composition is in my sig).
Overall, this is a fairly good composition-- definitely above average for a beginner's piece. ^__^ Make sure you hold on to that melodic gift; few people at your composing level create well structured melodies, so you're already way ahead of the game. =D

I think he/she means the sustain/dampening pedal. =P The sostenuto is seldom used in piano literature, and some pianos don't even come equipped with one. O_O Just trying to clear up possible confusion. ^_~

This actually isn't my first composition. And all the things you pointed out I already wanted to fix. The problem is, I don't know how. On Noteworthy composer, I'm still unsure of all the features.

I've made a lot of music. It just sounds like junk in midi because I used some wierd DOS program to make them. When I convert them to midi, they sound choppy and the instruments sound wrong most of the time. I'm alittle iffy about posting those up. Also the fact that some of them are for games my brother and I make so they're not really pieces but music to certain scenes in the game. Please keep that in mind.
Here's another. It's alittle older than the other one.

One thing that I don't understand is, how could someone work on the same song for 2 weeks?? I take 2 hours at most. I don't get it. How does that same inspiration stay that long? I must have a different way of composing.
This one was done under 30 minutes.

Your first song was an ok attempt. good for melody.. just i hate midi, no feeling. if it had a better sound (and pedal, as mentioned earlier by others) it would sound good.
the second one, was also O.K.
the third one.. i dont know but its the main instrument that was used that sounded.. well annoying lol..
good tryings.
Also, when people have inspiration and work at a song for a long time, they turn out to be like Chopin's and Beethoven's Works. You can see some of the easiest songs that they make, take them 2 years... they have not only a talent, but they can arrange things that a indivigual wouldn't usually do. inspiration, you can say, was as normal as them, as breathing. They needed it, or they couldn't write, just like you need air to live, and food to survive. Without inspiration.. it wouldn't be Beethoven!! it'd be Beethoven.. ?

I'll have to figure out ways to keep myself inspired.

Hm.. clear minds, not thinking of a way to put it in (like structure). like, if a tunes in your head, figure it out, then write it down, over time, organize different tunes in it.. hard to explain

@silver: just try to stick on one of your songs, even if you dont like it. did you know that chopin work on his 1st ballade(?) for 2 years? That's pretty amazing

It took Chopin to make his 24 preludes (some not even a min. long) in 4 years.. lol so some they'll say.. thats sad lol.. and beethoven's easy sonata that im learning took him 2 years also. but then again, i dont think it was the writing for chopin, it was literally writing the notes on paper LoL!
i mean think about it, some of his stuff has like a billion notes.. in like 4 measures... lol

I totaly agree with you on this one, I am like that to... I do most of my composing way after bedtime, somehow thats when inspiration flows.
I like your work though its a little dry
as you said backgrounds isnt your thing, and so it seems.
IŽll give you a tip: you should make songs out of every genre and mood even if you dont like, say...happy songs make them, for every song you make something sticks and becomes a part of your special signum, thats how you evolve...

In Starlite, some instruments were annoyingly loud, but the melody was pretty good. Strings would have to stop that fading out stuff, me thinks, unless your composing program doesn't allow for that.
Other than that, good job. :)

-- Piano Song
Overall, I loved the piece. The simple melody in the right, and the continuing noted in the left seemed to come together. It seemed to "repeat" to same melody over and over though. The melody I like was good, but I think you should of had another verse in the song; if you made another phrase then come back to the (so-called) "refrain."
It was great!
Good job wifey!

Thanks!^.^
I might have added more but my inspiration was dying down so I ended it to avoid ruining the song. (Which sometimes happens to other compositions...:\ )

True, with my etude in Ab Major, I lost my inspiration for that key, and now expierementing with not one of Chopin's keys, but Beethoven's-Eb major
(Off-topic. SORRY!)
