This is driving me crazy, it's taking up all of the space on my computer. Everytime I log out of STEAM, and log back in to play Counter Strike: Source (migrated from 1.6) it tells me that the game needs to be installed again. At first I didn't think that it actually was reinstalling. But I soon came to realize today the message:

Space Needed: 985 mb

Space Left: 1986 mb

WTF?!

Hmm, perhaps try uninstalling Steam, then install it again and see what happens. Might do the trick.

steam is great until it stops working. then it should be burning in the deepest pits of hell.

re installing is probably a good choice

have you taken a look at the steam forums? it solves a fair few questions

I registered at the forum, but it hasn't let me post or make a thread.
I only sent STEAM and incident report, but I doubt I'll get a reply in a year.

E- Found the problem by scourging all of the different threads. Now I just need a new hardrive.

Wasn't an update, there was some file I had to delete.

That's strange because the EXACT same thing happened to me earlier on today, it was an update.

hmm......how about you try system restoring until the day before you installed it,then re-install it? that might work.
