Im running for school secretary this year, and im having fun. Im making posters for it, and my moto is "Vote Asian".

So my reason for opening this thread is I need poster ideas. I want it humorious. Two posters I already made says:

1) VOTE ASIAN with a bowl of rice and chop sticks below
2) Its an apartment with two vodka bottles labled VOTE ASIAN, VOT SAMMY

Unless you live in a place where that isn't considered offensive, I suggest you choose something that is less suggestive; there's plenty ways to be funny without being mildly racial. >_> Alas, I don't know how you could go about doing it, so wait for someone else. XD

"It's the way he shatters that matters"
"Vote for me I'll never die"
"Vote for me or the teddy gets it"

Call your opponent a flip-flopper. Hey, it worked for Bush <_<

Seriously, I don't think that racism/elitism is going to win an election for you. Some might find it funny but others will get offended and not vote for you.

"Vote for me or the teddy gets it"

LOL!

~

I wasnt trying to be a racial eletist. How in the hell does saying "Asian" become racialy and moraly wrong? If I say "Vote Sammy", would it make a diffrence? If I said "Vote for the black haired kid" or "Vote for the glasses", would it have made a diffrence?

And I dont like it when people try to stick up for what they think is right and make lectures about it. Im the one thats making the jokes, and im asian! Im making fun of myself, whooo-hoo! Its like a black person making jokes about blacks, yet someone comes by and says it isnt nice to make fun of black people....Well, the god damn guy is black himself! Its his desicion to conclude if its rude or not, because he is both black and the joker.

So in the end, isnt my decision to decide if my own jokes are racist?

*ends rant*

Seeing how Anglelic turned a compleatly legit thread into a racism thread, I request for it to be closed.

Of course, blame me. Let me quote what Gand posted before me though:

"Seriously, I don't think that racism/elitism is going to win an election for you."

Sorry for beating a dead horse (thread) here, but I'd like to explain.

The reason I'm calling it racism or elitism is because by saying "Vote Asian" you are claiming that this is a quality you want your voters to be persuaded by. This is no different than saying "Vote for me, I'm male!" Think back to 2004 when Al Sharpton was in the US presidential race. Do you think he ever said "Vote Black"?

Now, I recognize that this is a HS election, and "vote asian" is all in good fun. I think that not only is it in bad taste, but it will probably put you in a world of trouble with teachers and administrators. And it surely won't help you win the election.

Anyway, if you'd like to discuss this further, let's move to a thread in General.

PS. Angelic, I have no idea how you got pinned for that one. *shrug*
