Ive been seeing alot of DS users around Ichigo's for a while now and I was wondering if Animal Crossing: WW was on your buying list?

If so, we can play together! Ive been sorta behind on my DS studies, but I found this at Nintendo.com

Players: up to 4 players
Release Date: Dec 05, 2005

I know Nintendo said the release date for Animal Crossing: WW was in November once, October another and even July, but December seems more reasonable.

Also, I was thinking we could start an Ichigo Clan :)

Lolz, an Ichigo Animal Crossing Clan, sounds good to me :)
Thing is though, I don't have wireless in my house:sweat:
I guess the only way for me to use it is in an Internet Cafe because they have hot spots.....

EDIT= i am buying it when it comes out =D

Yes! Another one in the bag!

~

Confirmed Features!

Perhaps the biggest change to AC:WW is the ability to connect to the Internet using Wi-Fi. For AC:WW features using Wi-Fi, see below and make sure to also take a look at our very own Wi-Fi guide.
There are many characters brand new to the world of AC:WW. Some of these characters are villagers, but many are characters to run new buildings and services.
However, many of your favourite villagers will be returning to the world of Animal Crossing for a brand new adventure.
It has been confirmed that there will be a hairdresser, and a barber shop. The barber shop will be located next to Nook's Cranny. It will be run by a character who appears to be a pink poodle. On your trip to the barber, you will be able to get a new hairstyle, and even a new hair colour!
You will be able to change and make your own constellations by visiting the Observatory. The Observatory is located on the second floor of the museum, and is run by what appears to be a female version of Blathers. -When you talk to her, you will be able to draw and create your own constellations to be seen by everyone who visits your village during the night. The moon will also go through different phases throughout the month.
From now on, when you visit The Able Sisters, you will be able to do more than just design and create clothing. You can now buy accessories such as eye patches, glasses, and scarves.
You will arrive in your town in a car, which could very well be driven by Kapp'n judging by his new outfit. You will choose your house, and house location by talking to a green duck instead of Nook.
A new item has been confirmed, a watering can. You will be able to take water from the ocean, and use it to water plants and trees.
It has been confirmed by Nintendo that there will be no NES games in Animal Crossing: Wild World.
The villages in Animal Crossing: Wild World have a more spherical look, almost like a small planet.
There is a special machine in Tom Nook's store. Every time you buy an item, it will add points. As your points accumulate, you will receive special items. This seems to be adding to, or replacing the lottery system the original AC had.
The stylus plays a big role in AC:WW. You can use it to move, talk to villagers, go into buildings, make textures, and sort through your inventory. Everything you need to do you can do with the stylus.
You can have up to four people living or visiting in a village at once. It has been confirmed that all players in the game will have to live in the same house, and have characters on the same game card.
As characters pay off their debt, their houses will grow, and have expansions that can house up to four different people in different rooms.
Many popular furniture sets will make a comeback in Animal Crossing: Wild World.
K.K Slider will no longer play on a box in front of the now non-existent Train Station. He now has his own café, which seems to be run by a bean-looking character.
Holidays are no longer a reflection of our holidays, they are completely made up by the designers and producers of AC:WW.
As of today, AC DS will not have Pictochat capabilities built in.
Animal Crossing: Wild World is scheduled to be released December 5th, 2005, and is rated E for Everyone (online experience subject to change)

Well, my town's going to be ruled by me, the all-powerful tyrant. I'll make sure to decorate my house like a palace and enlist all of my villagers into my army. Then I'll take over your town.

RD
November 17th, 2005, 04:46 am
Me too! But im so tempted to spend it on MKDS...

Anywhom, im a bit flustered. At NWC's site, it says my router needs the newest firmware to connect to the DS. But Im not exaclty sure its that easy. I hope getting a firmware for my router isnt hard..

EDIT: When I was doing some looking around for any new DS games, I ended up looking at some ACWW screens. Now, if your worried about the DS and its graphics dont. Its capable of doing better then the N64. I dont think the DS uses AA (or it doesnt alot) but sense the screen is so small you cant notice unless you actualy stop playing your game and bring the screen up really close.

I cannot wait for ACWW!

A forum that im a regular member at has just posted a first impression of the NWC play for Animal Crossing. Be warned it contains spoilers..

The events that happen in "passby mode" (known in Nintendogs as bark mode) also happen when you play with someone over WiFi. I got a new constellation in my sky from one guy (let's call him M), and a message in a bottle washed up on the beach. First of all M came to my village. He chatted with the animals and we then arranged to go to his village. When we got there M had a letter in his postbox. It was from my neighbour animal Bianca!

Also, we left messages on each others' town notice boards for posterity. There is NO OPTION to erase messages on the board, so you can't undo any silliness that you try out when you get the game!

A third person, "E"', joined us in M's town, having read our forum post. We all went to E's town. I was comforted to see that E had also written a little "Yay, I got the game" type message to himself on his notice board

After connecting to Wifi for the first time I got a letter in my postbox from the game staff thanking me for playing the game on the very first day of release. A message from Nintendo also appeared on the town notice board, telling me about how today was Labour Thanksgiving Day.

I read in previews that the game's annual holidays were not going to be related to one particular country, but today is in fact Labour Thanksgiving Day in Japan. I also noticed there was a spelling mistake (in Japanese of course) in the message! Way to go Nintendo!

Contrary to reports, you are able to chat with people when they go inside buildings in your town. I watched a video preview on Gamespot or maybe IGN, which was being presented by a Nintendo employee, where he specifically said that chat was equivalent shouting something while outside -- it would be "inaudible" indoors. This simply isn't the case in the Japanese version. I was pleasantly surprised, but it makes a lot of sense. I wanted to go round and talk to E and M's animal neigbours, in the hopes of getting a letter from them someday, and I would be "off the grid" for chat whilst doing so, so unable to hear their plans etc.

Chat is fairly easy to use with the stylus, but one flaw is that there is no chat history display as in Pictochat. You can only see the last line each person said, and that stays on screen for about 30 seconds. So if you were doing something else and failed to notice the little bell noise that signifies a chat entry, you might miss out on some conversation.

A few things that were weird at first but I worked out later: if the host player presses Start to save the game, everyone's game gets saved on their respective cartridges and after a brief delay you continue playing online exactly where you left off. However, if a non-host player presses Start whilst visiting a host town, that player speaks an automated chat line which says "I want to save!". I didn't know this and thought the Japanese guys were just telling me this, and I was thinking, why don't you just save then? But when I later pressed Start myself it became clear.

A similar thing happened when both me and M lay down in the big bed that one of his neighours had. If you're on a bed or chair or similar you can't send chat messages. But what if another player stands in front of you and blocks you from getting up, and they don't realise they're in the way? Well, press A, B, X or Y whilst on a bed your chair and you get four different auto-chat lines: "Get out of the way!" "I can't get off here!" "Sigh..." and something else I forget. A handy little feature that shows how well-thought out the game is, but it's confusing if you get a message like that from another player without knowing they're automatic, or how they're activated.

There is a lot of stuff about the town you live in that changes from person to person (something I was able to confirm by playing on Wifi, because I don't know anyone in real life with a DS...) The layout always has the same buildings, but in different locations. There is always a river that flows out to a beach, and the lower edge of the map is all beach. Here are some examples of what varied between player villages (I didn't play the GameCube game much so sorry if these are all to be expected from that game):

-- the fruit on the trees (mine has cherries on a few trees, M had oranges galore)
-- the animals living in the other houses
-- the tune of the clock chime (which is also customisable)
-- the t-shirt design you start out wearing (mine says MVP, M's was "No. 1")

Customisable elements include the town flag, which is flown by the gate where you enter to play Wifi. You can also swap patterns between your clothes and the flag. Patterns cost a few hundred bells to make at the Able Sisters' shop, but you can make an umbrella, wallpaper, floor covering or an easel-painting out of them for free, and any number of those can be done simultaneously, not just one item per pattern. You could draw a design and apply it to you walls, floor, shirt and hat.

The player character's appearance has two basic forms, boy or girl. Accessories aren't customisable in a Sims way (which I thought they would be), but rather you get them from the other animals as presents for doing things, and I suppose the items you get will differ from village to village. So when you play online, it's doubtful two players will have the same look, but not because they designed a whole look when setting up the game.

Conclusion: this is gaming crack in its purest form. But you can play it anywhere. I organised the Wifi play on the Japanese forum at 6:30pm, and we started at 7pm precisely (my town chime rang as I was entering the gate!). Before we knew it it was half past nine. And this was playing with two guys I have never even exchanged an e-mail with before. Also since we had all by definition just started playing the game hours before, our villages weren't even that interesting yet. But it was still incredibly fun.

I can see myself taking the game to work, playing a little on the train in the morning, and at lunch break, just to get some stuff to sell and use the money to buy stuff for my house; or to water the flowers or think up constellations to draw and messages-in-a-bottle to write. Then at night try to find people to play online with and go to their villages to get items I don't have at mine.

Must-buy when it comes out in your respective countries.

When I woke up I was really dizzy, so I just stood there. When I came down stairs I found that my house has been re-built! I was like "OMFG cooool!". So I moved my exsisting furniture around to the side so I had room to put more things in.

So when I open the door I was like "YES!". Yesterday I read the town board and it said that on the 10th there will be a snowstorm. I was a bit cranky when I first read it, because Able's Sisters didnt have any clothes for hardcore snow. But it was just a little snow! I was running around in it when this insurence guy followed me around. So I stoped and confronted him. He asked me a few questions, and when he tried to sell me some insurence I said no.. But he wouldnt stop talking no matter what, so I was forced to buy insurence TWICE! Yes, TWICE! All together it costed me 6K..

So after that I went into Nook's Cranny, the currently tiny store ran by a raccoon. But no fret, Its being rebuilt into somthing bigger tomorow. So after Mr. Nook told me some things, I looked around. There was a shovel that I bought, some wall paper, carpet..Oh! And there was an Ebony Grand Piano and what I heard was the Biggest Christimas Tree (fully decorated too!) in creation. I bought it all up for a total of about 10K.

So I went home happily putting everything I wanted in the house. After many designes I went with a Plush Carpet, Classic Wallpaper, Fire Place, A Candle, Wide Screen TV, a Cream Sofa, Modern Table and finaly the very special Ebony Grandpiano and the Christmas Tree.

So nothing after that really happened. I cought a fish or two and thats about it. But then when I read the town board I found out that K.K. Slider will be comming tonight! And that was one of the only highlights of my day (so far..)

Think of it as a time killer. Its a really cute make over for The Sims, but a lot more fun for some reason. The "realism" in The Sims gets a bit annoying a lot (so does the graphics) but the jokes and silliness of Animal Crossing is a bit crazy.

Its either a time killer or a perfect game for casual gamers..

Fishing's a bit harder in this game than it was in the GCN version, but I still managed to pay off my mortgage, upgrade, and get Nook to upgrade all on my first day. The sad part? I only have one new peice of furniture, so my house is completely bare other than my candle, box, tapedeck (with no music), and a screen with a painting of a pine on it. However, since Nook's closed today, I can't buy anything new... I guess I'll rely on the horrid taste of my villagers and their good generosity, eh?
