Will the N-Rev be a bigger inovator then people even expected? Having a remote controll styled controller is a big step it self, but is Miyamoto planning something even bigger, better and even more amasing!?

Acorrding to this quote from an interveiw with Miyamoto and IGN, yes.

Asked what he thought videogames would be like in the future, Miyamoto suggested removing what has always been a key ingredient for the medium: televisions. "It's convenient to make games that are played on TVs," he said. "But I always wanted to have a custom-sized screen that wasn't the typical four-cornered cathode-ray-tube TV. I've always thought that games would eventually break free of the confines of a TV screen to fill an entire room. But I would rather not say anything more about that."

And heres an image I found at www.Joystiq.com

http://www.playbomb.com/wp-content/uploads/possibleleak.jpg

Now, that image looks and probably is a mock-up, but looks as possable as me having a NDS. A 3D, built in projector also fits into Miyamotos description from that quote.

Miyamoto has a history of looking very far into the future with videogames. I'm sure the revolution has a trick or two up its sleeve that the public doesn't know about, but this would be pretty damn huge for Nintendo to be keeping under wraps. Also, Nintendo would have no reason to be commenting on the fact that the revolution can work with all TV types if it isn't going to interact with the TV at all.

I was wondering about that too, but who said it wont have TV compadability and still have that projector? Can a system not be projected in two diffrent ways? Just because there is going to be TV compadability, doesnt mean that there wont be a built-in projecter, and vice-versa.

But hey, thats just my opinion.

I found theres mock-ups (or possably real images) or N-REV remote add-ons. Some are of a gun, fishing pole and steering wheel add-on. Will post when I find them agian.

I doubt that there'll be some sort of projector thing. But I do think you're spot-on with some sort of visual revolution; however, I wouldn't go so far as holograms or anything. If there is a visual revolution, it'll most likely be in perception; what's shown on screen. I don't know how or anything, but it'd be pretty cool.

And it'd make sense why they haven't shown any footage of games yet... though that could be for other reasons as well.

3D graphics? And no, I dont mean by 3D rendering, like :

oh, that guys muscular..*pinches muscles* SQUEE!!

But as in, pop out of the screen 3D.

That's a technology Nintendo has mentioned looking into before but it really wouldn't make much sense for them to be keeping such a huge thing under wraps when they revealed the controller already. Also, they keep mentioning how small the revolution is and how it is less powerful than its competition. I don't profess to actually know what sort of extra technology is necessary for the 3d projection they had been researching but it seems like it would take a reasonably powerful system to do that and create any sort of a worthwhile image.

Also, the 3d display would go against or at the very least not be supported by Miyamoto's comments so it doesn't really make sense for it to possibly be there.

Hmm...NO! NOT ANOTHER VURTARAL BOY! ARGH!

Well, There was another interview either Gamestop or IGN with Miyamoto before. And he said that the graphics arnt going to be worse then its compeditors...they lie...

Also, I want to comment that he says 'typical four-cornered cathode-ray-tube TV', not just 'TV', so it must be a new way of veiwing the game. But you have to remember he may not be implying new technology we dont know about is going to be in the N-REV. Maybe its going to be in a diffrent system Nintendo is working on...

Just maybe...

they're using a physics processor(3 seperate brains).

i assume with this that loading times are eliminated, framerate should not be a problem. on the other hand i don't know how much faster it will be, how much more expensive, or if the 3 seperate pieces of hardware can work together well without overheating.

*giant bump*

Apperently CES, a company no one has heard of, has been going into newer technology. Remember the VB by Nintendo? Hey look, its a better version (I think with color too!)

http://www.joystiq.com/media/2006/1/Z800_225p.jpg

Anywhom, its called the Z800 3D Visor, and Nintendo has seemed to like to so much that they bought a bunch of them directly from the manufacturer. Maybe what Miyamoto ment was somthing like a VB..

VB was such a disaster that i dont think even nintendo would risk it again

RD

Disaster? God, its anything but that. Yes, it didnt sell well, but what about th Dreamcast? It should still be a mainstreem system, but yet it isnt. Nintendo wasnt about making money, but to give what people wanted and opening new doors in the gaming district. And what did the VB do? It did somthing no other system did.

And with the VB in Nintendos history, they know how to make it better. Would you not want a 3D game with visors like that?

The problem with VB, as I understood it, was just the lack of games/support. It looks like the NRV is getting support from everybody and their mothers, so that shouldn't be a problem anymore.

I blame Mattel(c).

But seriously, I still don't understand how that was supposed to work in 2D games...

Ah well, from what we hear about the Revolution controller, Nintendo has it right this time :P

And if they don't, Sony will eventually: http://www.technewsworld.com/story/42081.html

But my money's on Nintendo.

Nintendo is comming back, and even my friends who are Sony and Microsoft enthusist say that the next generation will be all Nintendo. The hype over the 360 and the PS3 isnt as high as it is for the N-Rev, and seeing how its proably going to be a lot more cheeper then the other two its probably going to sell very well.

Also, about that Sony brain game, Nintendo is way past that. Their DS brain game has been and I beleave it still is, a best seller.

NINTENDO WILL PWN YOU ALL!

Hmmm, I won't mind buying it for casual gaming. But I will still be a hardcore playstation series fan. However Xbox is in my ban list. (`・ω・´)

RD, I know that whenever you hear Nintendo you spontaneously get an orgasm, but you're so fucking excited that pretty much every post you made in this thread has several spelling errors. Take it easy or you'll overheat and blow up, mkay?
