When my brother bought his guitar, they gave us a free microphone. Then I bought the tip of the cable so I could use it with my computer and record a few things, but... How do these things work?! @_@

Plug in the mic to the mic input on your soundcard.
Start -> Run -> type "sndrec32"
Hit record and talk.

There is a diaphram in there that moves according to the sound waves that hit it. That movement is transformed into an AC signal. Signal goes into whatever's recording.
